In Firefox 29 center clicking at the top of a tab in a maximized window will open a previously closed tab instead of closing the tab you clicked.
Is this this the intended behavior? And if so is there any way to disable it?

Middle-clicking a tab closes it, while middle-clicking an empty area of the tab bar opens a new tab.
Different behavior is probably caused by a tab-related add-on like Tab Mix Plus. If you're not sure if you have such an add-on, restart Firefox with add-ons disabled and check if the problem still occurs.

When I open Thunderbird no windows will open on my desktop until I click "Hide Thunderbird" then click on the dock icon again, Mac OS10.8

When I click on the dock icon to open Thunderbird, the menu at the top of the screen opens, but no windows, ie. Mail & Newsgroups, New Message, About Thunderbird, etc. will open on my desktop. I have to click on Hide Thunderbird, then click on the dock icon again, and then all of the windows I attempted to open become visible. This is on a Mac running OS 10.8.5, Thunderbird 3.0.11. All runs normally after this until I quite Thunderbird.

Black window remains open even after closing the window programatically

I have an application which has multiple windows. From mainwindow button click event I am closing the child form of the application. The child window is opened after a successful socket, serial or gateway connection attempt, after which the application
do work with some threads and while clicking on a button on mainwindow I am closing this child window after disconnecting the respective connection mode. But after the close event the child window background gets black and it remains open unless and until

You can also have inline code of course instead of a method.
Whilst on a different thread to the UI you can't update UI objects.
You'll get a thread affinity error message if you try.
That means you either return your results to the ui thread and process them there ( particularly convenient with async await ).
Or you update something which doesn't have thread affinity.
An observablecollection bound to an itemssource doesn't have thread affinity eg.
You do need to raise property changed at the end of your processing with that option because it notifies collectionchanged on the wrong thread and the UI won't know it changed.
Or you can dispathcher.begininvoke to get back to the UI thread.
All depends what you're doing but hopefully one of those options there will suit you.

Adobe Reader XI is not working. I have used the cleanup tool and reinstalled it. I try to open a .pdf file in the program the window will open and load all the tabs but I am never able to actually interact with them.

I am unable to use adobe reader xi. I have tried to use the clean up tool and re install the reader. That doesn't seem to help. I go to open the pdf file in the reader and the window will load but I am not able to do anything past that point. Almost as if the program freezes once loaded I never get a not responding error until I open the task manager on the computer.

Can you open Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

I've used Firefox for years w/no problem but now I can't get a window to open I still get the menu bar on top. When I try to click open a new window nothing happens. I have a Mac.

How to choose witch window will open external links when using multiple Firefox profiles at the same time?

I am using 2 firefox profiles at the same, one for working and another for reading news. I start them with "firefox -no-remote -P profilename", so there are 2 firefox processes running.
It works well, but when I click a link in an external app (like in Google Talk), the link is opened in the first firefox process I launched. I mean, if I ran the "news" firefox first, it will always open the external links.
Is it possible to change this behavior? I'd like all external windows to be opened in the "news" firefox, never in the "working". Of course I'll achieve that if I open it first, but if I first run the "news", then the "working", then I close the news for any reason, now links will always open in the "working" until I close it.

I converted an album to a slideshow: I exported it, selecting itunes as an export option. A window comes up that says iphoto at the top, but nothing happens. Also, this window will not close with the red button - I have to "force quit" and reopen iphoto

I can't seem to export a slideshow from iPhoto. I go through the export routine, but an iPhoto page comes up with other slideshows I've sent to iTunes, but nothing happens. On certain websites, when opening a wmv file it will open as an ascii file, instead of the microsoft media player.

Firefox will not load wanted/allowed pop up windows, a new window will open, but nothing loads.

Firefox will not properly load wanted pop up windows from allowed site. It will allow the pop up to open, however nothing loads, it is just a blank window. I have not always had this problem and have not changed any settings to cause this. After the problem started I upgraded to version 3.6.7, cleared all recent history, and turned off pop up blockers. No change.

THESoLUTION is here :-) right...
1. you must go to control panel>programs>un-install programs
2. find any versions of java and un-install them (in my case i had something called 'kiwee'.
3. un install and voila!

In additon to over and over having to close out an endless cascade of windows i'm being inudated with tons of pop-ups. Ultimately after being on for a few hours the problems increase in frequencey and my chromebook gets slower and slower. A tech support person told me to get Adblock Pro and that would solve all my problems. I got the app from the Google store but everytime i try to instal and run it the site crashes. CAN ANY1 HELP ME!?!?!?!?!? I would just take it in but the tech support people said it would be cheaper to just buy a new one......help me please

Well, it would help a lot if you could tell us which model you have. The symptoms are pretty common ones for a virus or hacked web site. Did it happen right away after getting the computer or did it take some time? Does it happen on a specific site or all sites you visit?

Downloaded books in DE format will not open in app on PC. The DE window will open but there will be nothing inside.

I recently downloaded DE to use an e-book I purchased on my PC.
The book downloads and is instructed to open in DE. The DE app window pops up, but there is no book, and I am unable to move the book to the app.
