In Firefox 4 toolbar customizations disappear upon closing and then reopening Firefox.
I click on ',''''''''CUSTOMIZ''''''E''' I drag the icons from the '''box''' onto the the '''toolbar''', I move the ''''''icon'''s''' around and drag ''''''space holder'''s''' onto the toolbar, putting some of them on an '''additional toolbar''' that I add, so that everything is arranged the way I want it; I click DONE, everything looks great, but the '''next time I open Firefox''' everything has returned to to the '''default layout'''.
Anyone comfortable enough should go to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox Standard diagnostics - Firefox] in the Mozillazine Knowledge Base, follow the instructions there and see if an add-on (extension or theme) may be causing the resetting of your customizations.

Take a picture of your toolbars so you can easily reconstruct them from the default after solving the the problem.
If it happens to you it will probably happen again in the future so you might want to keep some copies of your modified localstore.rdf file so you can delete the bad one and rename one of the replacements in waiting. Saving, copying and renaming must be done with Firefox down, of course. -
I am trying to log into a web based system, called Mortgage Coach from my laptop, in order for me to log onto Mortgage coach a message says that I need to download Adobe flash 11.1. Adobe cannot be installed until Mozilla is closed. I do not know how to close Firefox so that I can do the Adobe download and then reopen again to have Firefox. Help!
After the file is downloaded, you begin the installation. When the installation starts, bring Firefox down with "Alt+F" (File) > Quit that is the proper way to bring Firefox down.
If Firefox is still running after a few minutes then take firefox.exe down from the Windows Task Manager, from the "Processes" Tab. Also you might want to take down the plugin-container.exe as well. -
Using Firefox 4:
I right-click on a tab to "pin as app tab."
The new app tab appears as expected.
But after I close and then reopen Firefox 4, my app tab(s) no longer appear. They go away. Repeated cycles of the above do not keep the app tabs present .
Advise on this would be appreciated.
Thank you.I have been having this problem on occasion for a while. (Most recently in firefox 7) I just discovered that I had a phantom firefox.exe process running for some reason. This has the same effect as closing your tabbed window before a non tabbed window. I killed the process and my app tabs magically work again.

Why do I have time machine disk problem after closing and later reopening clamshell.
I consistently see the following after closing and later reopening my Macbook Pro (5,1). I have to unplug and replug my Time Machine USB drive.
The only thing new is Mountain Lion. The Time Machine disk has 229 GB free of 1.5 TB. I never had to unplug this drive under Lion.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I ran disc repair on Time Machine Drive yesterday, but it found nothing.
Here is what I see:

(Window 2)The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.

Time Machine is intended to be left enabled always whether a backup drive is connected or not. What Time Machine cannot handle properly is a situation where the backup drive loses power for whatever reason. Time Machine treats this, as does the OS, as an improper disconnect of an external drive without being properly ejected. This in turn throws Time Machine a little bit of a loop.
For you I would suggest not using Time Machine. Instead use a third-party backup utility that you can either schedule or run manually as you wish. They will work with the same drive you have used for Time Machine, but you will need to first erase the Time Machine drive using Disk Utility. Please DO NOT try dragging the Time Machine backups to the Trash.
Here are some good backup utilities you can try:

1. Carbon Copy Cloner
2. Get Backup
3. Deja Vu
4. SuperDuper!
5. Synk Pro
6. Tri-Backup
Others may be found at MacUpdate. Each one can be used for a trial period. No need to pay for one until you've decided on which one you like best. I, for example, use Carbon Copy Cloner but please don't take that as a recommendation over the others. It's just my preference. All can be operated manually or can be set up to backup on a schedule you determine. Some can even be set up to backup as soon as the backup drive is connected.

If I leave firefox open and simply minimize everything is fine if I close it and then reopen it even if right away I get the boxes with the numbers instead of letters or numbers.

When I try to add video to iMovie on iPod Touch, none of the videos on the Touch show up to be added. I've restarted the iPod twice, closed all the apps and then reopened iMovie. Please help!
Now You lost me (without using a computer?) - Most probably due to that I've not got an iPod Touch but mine is seven Years old - so it most probably work in a totally different way.

Artboards disappear after closing and reopening a file
My coworkers and I have been running into an issue when we use documents that have multiple artboards. After we do ouer work, we save and close the file. When we go to reopen the file, all but the first artboard have disappeared. Looking in the Artboard panel, the original artboard counts up after every save.
For example, say I were to create a new file and add a couple artboards. After saving, closing, and reopening the file, the additional artboards would be gone, the artwork on those boards would still be there, and the original artboard would be labeled as "Artboard 2". If I were to add the missing artboards again, the same issue would occur and reopening the file would have the first artboards labeled now as "Artboard 3".
I am using Illustrator CS6 and saving the files as an .ai with the default settings.Are you saving locally? Over a network? Mac or PC?

New toolbar always disappears upon restart of Firefox
I add a new toolbar (right click on toolbars, then "customize"), give it a name, and put a few buttons on it.
The new toolbar is visible and working, and can be seen for instance in the View/Toolbars pop-up menu.
However when I exit firefox and start it again - after this, the new toolbar is gone. Even in View/Toolbars it is not listed anymore, i.e. it is not a problem of being unselected, but it is completely gone.You can Start Firefox using Different Profiles to see the changes among them.

The remainder tabs disappear upon closing one tab.
After opening up multiple tabs 3 or more, the tabs appear normally. However, after closing one, sometimes the remainder 2 or 3 tabs disappear but the one window is intact but and no tabs. If I close the window, I get the message, 'You about to close multiple tabs," which I am fine because I have selected that option.

Acrobat 9 Pro - Toolbar Customization Disappearing
Hello all,
I am having a very annoying problem with Acrobat 9 Professional. Whenever I customize any of my toolbars, as soon as I quit and restart Acrobat all toolbars revert to their default configuration. The toolbars I want on stay on, and they stay in the locations I want, but buttons I want on turn off and vice-versa. I have gone through all of the Preferences screens and looked through the registry but have found nothing that would govern this behavior. Anybody here know how to fix it so that my "custom" toolbars stay customized?Same problem on a clients machine. Did you ever find a solution? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with sandboxing or administrative privlages...

Basically I have a drop down menu, which i have tried to create numerous times with different widgets available in muse or as freebies on the net.
The menu within the drop down is a manual menu and each button links to an anchor on the page, so that when clicked the page scrolls to that anchor.
My problems is that once I have clicked one of the links to go to the anchor further down the page the drop down remains. For the purpose of User Experience and fluidity across the mobile design i would like the drop down to disappear on click of the anchor link. Is this possible?

the window closes normally, then when i reopen it i receive a message that states Firefox is still running. i open task manager and it is not shown on the application tab but is shown in the process tab, where i "end process" i would appreciate any help. thank you

I "upgraded"/ "updated" firefox to version 9.0.1, there are no newer updates offered. I used to be able to restore my prior session upon opening firefox the next time, now it doesn't even offer that link on the opening page. And it does not open a 'homepage' for firefox, just a blank page, with one empty tab/window, this is not an improvement

Try typing ''about:home'' into the address bar. Is that the page you are looking for? If so, go to ''Tools > Options > General'' and save it as your homepage. If that home page doesn't show up the next time you start Firefox, you should look at [[Preferences are not saved]].

I've got a Muvo N200 with which I have a problem. When I try to encode tracks using the line-in it just shuts down when I try to choose that option. I go into the menu, use the jog wheel to scroll to the encoding option and the I press the jog wheel.
