In Firefox 6 Beta i can only switch 2-3 tabs by using ctrl + tab ... this is rly annoying! Is this only a bug in FF6B?

11 tabs are open. 1 Youtube and the rest are non-flash based.
There is no really a solution by me to switching tabs permanently.
In Firefox 8 Nightly i can switching tabs without any problems. :S

Hi - yes I can! I hadn't noticed that little arrow before, thanks.
However I would really like to stop it hiding the first tab all the time.... Even when I navigate to the first tab using that "list all tabs" arrow, it still remains 'hidden' (i.e. I can't see a tab up the top, even when that tab is active. And when I navigate away from it to another tab, it is invisible again).
Any ideas?

I can't switch tabs; clicking on other open tabs or using Ctrl-Tab does nothing.

After upgrading to FF4, sometimes (I haven't been able to identify a pattern yet) I can no longer move between tabs. I can still open new tabs, and can move between those without any problems, but am locked out of any tab that was opened before this issue began. These tabs will still auto-refresh, but clicking on them doesn't switch to them, and Ctrl-Tab just switches between the tabs that were opened after the freeze began. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks....

That's what I was experiencing. I had to disable all add-ons (via the safe mode method above) and add them back in one by one. After adding each one back in, I tried to recreate the conditions that seemed to be causing the problem in the first place, which, for me, was customizing the toolbar. Eventually found the add-on that locked up the tabs. Hope this works for you, too.

Since Firefox 4, I can get a background image to work using base64 encoded, but not a local file, this worked in Firefox 3, how do I resolve this.

Using either of the 4 examples shown below, to have a background image display inside about:blank worked in Firefox 3.x (using Stylish add-on), however since Firefox 4, only using the base64 encoded version of images works. Is there any way to fix this so I don't have to encode every image I wish to use? Encoding the image makes the stylish file absolutely huge, & a real pain to keep encoding whenever I want to change the image.

I've also previously disabled most of the add-ons, except for Status-4-Evar, Stylish, & Firebug, in an attempt to see if something else was interfering, but no change.

I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
On the Mac restart Messages
Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

After Firefox has been on for awhile, the Firefox tabs on the task bar disappear even though the pages are still running. I have to use Ctrl+Tab to fix it

I have started using Firefox recently. My computer is running XP. I notice that whether I have one Firefox window or multiple windows open, after awhile the Firefox tabs on the bottom task bar just disappear.
In order to get them back I have to use Ctrl+Tab to select each window one at a time and then they re-appear again on the task bar. Then after awhile they will disappear again.

As I stated, I have Windows 7 on my laptop and have installed Firefox 5. I sometimes like to have multiple windows of the browser open. But, unlike any previous version of Firefox, now when I have the browser open, when I try to open a new window using the Start menu, it will not open one. I have to use Ctrl+N. Why did this change?
This may seem insignificant but it really hampers my work flow. For one, with other applications, Shift+N is what opens a new window. You can't.
Java runs in a virtual machine, and relies on the OS to forward events to the virtual machine for dispatch to the appropriate swing components.
This means that the OS will get the alt-tab, before java, and it will consume it.
You can however detect when a window is no longer receiving focus, by adding a WindowListener
Window.addWindowListener(WindowListener l)And you can bring your window to the front (in theory) using
Window.toFront()However, I have found this to be not always successful (since the jre dispatches the request to the OS, it is the OS that must do it, and depending on the context may not).
I suggest you try another language, such as C.

I have 2 calendars set up for my work schedule, a "night shift" and "day shift" calendar. I've set up repeating events fro Fri/Sat/Sun 3-11pm "night shifts" and Mon/Tues 7am-3pm "day shifts". But lets say for example that I swap shifts and instead of working nights on Saturday like I normally would, I am now working days. I want to change that in my calendar. When I go to change the event, if i change the TIME it asks if i want to change all event or ONLY this event. no problem....just this single event. but when i go to change the event from the "night shift" calendar to the "day shift" calendar, it changes ALL the repeating events, and not just that one single event. can anyone help with this??? am i doing something wrong? is there a way to do this or not with the new iCal program??? i used to do this and never had any problems. what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)

I've run LastPass for over a year, with the upgrade to FireFox 6 I can't switch logins on sites like Google where I have more than one login.

I have 6 Google logins stored in LastPass. Since I upgraded FireFox to v.6, I can't choose an alternate login to my normal one. I also have occasional trouble with LastPass simply not filling in my login information at all, for instance on my Merrill Lynch online account. I opened a ticket with them and they said it was Google's fault. It was working perfectly until the last FireFox upgrade.

Just for the record: this turned out to be an issue with backleveled Java code. If you still have it, go to the Java code site and check to make sure you have the latest version. If you don't, download it and it should fix the problem.
