In Firefox, using gmail, 'Attach Files' no longer works.

Am using FF 31.0, and when entering gmail I can no longer use the 'Attach Files' button after composing an email. I can drag and drop, but when sending jpgs it fills the recipients window with large graphics - which isn't useful.
Logging into Chrome or IE and it works just fine - so I know it's solely a FF issue. Have also tried it on another PC with exactly the same response, so I know it's not my PC either. I've tried with all addons disabled, no difference, and the other PC isn't running any addons anyway.

Try allowing pop up windows
Open Menu
Options
Content (on the top)
Click Exceptions...
Type mail.google.com in address of website area
Click Allow
Try to open attachment window now.
Restart FireFox and try adding attachment again.

  • After latest Firefox update, MOBI plug-in no longer works

After the recent update to 29.0.1, my plug-in that I used to view MOBI ebook files no longer work. When I click on a file, it brings up the window saying "You have chosen to open blah blah blah MOBI file. What would you like to do?" And when I click Open, it simply opens a new Firefox tab, and then the question pops up again, and then again, if I click Open, it doesn't open the file but opens a new tab ... etc. etc. Clicking the other option, Save, did the same thing. I use Windows 7, if that makes a difference. The plug-in was working fine until I upgraded Firefox.

Thanks - I discovered that that was indeed the case. It must have vanished with the update. Thanks! All is well now.
(By the way, in addition to your helpful reply I got two rant-like spammy replies from someone else - I'm glad to forward them to you if you want to see them.)

  • Post Migration from SP2010 -Attach File Button not working in any list new/edit forms

    Hi,
We have migrated the SharePoint 2010 farm to Sharepoint 2013 on last saturday and we are noticing an interesting issue after the migration .
On any custom list on any web application ,When we create a new item,if we click on attach file button in the ribbon, nothing shows up on the screen.
In the browser Dev Tools its showing an error message as "Cannot read Property style of null".
This is happening on a javascript (form.debug.js) on line No : 5276
    (document.getElementById("partAttachment")).style.display = "block";
There is no element rendered in html with id "partAttachment",which is causing this error to happen.
    Solutions tried are
    1) Modified the List Advanced Settings to disable and enable the attachments ,which did not work
    2) Ran the Sharepoint Configuration wizard which did not fix
3)Tried reset the site definition for all pages in the site from site settings
    4) Deactivated and activated all the activated features in the site collection
Its an OOB List New Form,no customizations has been done.
Similar error occurring with List Edit form as well
when you click on the List Item in the List default view when you navigate to the list and when you click on attach file,a popup dialog to upload attachments appearing,However its not working when you
navigate into the list item and tried to upload attachment.

  • Hyperlinks to local files no longer work

Hyperlinks to local files no longer work in Adobe Reader 11.0.1, but they did prior to the update.  We have verified this on multiple machines.
We create a document in Word, add multiple relative links to other files on our local computer, and save as a PDF.  The links worked in previous versions, but no longer work in 11.0.1.  Does anyone else have this problem?
Links to external websites still work, it's only the links to other local files.  We also tried opening the same file in Foxit Reader, and the links worked just fine.  Only appears to happen in Adobe Reader 11.0.1.
This is a real pain in the ___!

    Hi efrancen,
What exactly happens when you click on the hyperlink. Does it give a message that target was not foud. Can you share the PDF or this taget hyperlink.

  • The Gmail icon for attaching files does not work in Firefox

I have tried the config change for network.http.spdy.enabled to false, and quite a few other suggestions for this problem, some from years ago.
Only the attach file icon is affected. Dragging files into gmail works to attach them, just the icon is not working.
    Very perplexing.

    Try allowing pop up windows
    Open Menu
    Options
    Content (on the top)
    Click Exceptions...
Type mail.google.com in address of website area
    Click Allow
Try to open attachment window now.
Restart FireFox and try adding attachment again.

  • Gmail attach file icon does not work

Is there a way to fix this problem? I tried network.http.spdy.enabled to false. No go. I tried resetting all the settings in ie, per a suggestion somewhere, no go.
Safe mode - does not work.
This problem seems to have come from no where. I can drag files into gmail, but the attach file icon does nothing.
Attach file icon works in IE, but I am trying to use Firefox.
Is there a fix or do I need a new computer?

I also have this problem. It just started today out of the blue. Whenever I hit "attach file" in gmail, I never get a "file explorer" popup. Simply nothing happens.
    * I'm running 31.0 on Mac 10.8.5.
    * I have tried resetting firefox several times. I've tried restarting in safe mode multiple times. Nothing will allow the window to appear.
    * I've tried various (old) fixes I found through searching (mostly involving about:config settings) but none worked.
    * Drag and dropping files onto a note DOES work (but this is no solution!).
    * I have cleared the cache several times but to no avail
    * I don't have the stomach (or time) now to completely uninstall and re-install. Not yet anyway.
    * This function works fine in Chrome and Safari
I finally went and UNCHECKED popup blocking. Now I get the file popup immediately! So it would seem that somehow Firefox is blocking the file "finder" interface as a popup. What gives?

  • In Firefox, can't attach files to Yahoo Mail outgoing messages. Yahoo Mail works fine in Internet Explorer though.

Since yesterday, when I switched from Comcast to AT&T as my broadband internet connection, I have not been able to attach files to my Yahoo mail messages using Mozilla Firefox. I don't have this problem when using Internet Explorer, but my default browser is Firefox by choice. Is this a Yahoo issue or a Firefox issue? Can you help me resolve it?

Not helpful. 'clearing Firefox's cache' is not helpful, since 'cache' doesn't show up in any of the Firefox pulldown menu choices (wasted time looking for that), and the plethora of things 'recent' and 'history' to choose to act on in these menus is also a possible waste of time, not to mention removing useful info for no reason.
I, too, have had this problem 'intermittently' for many months, always involving the 'first' file to attach in a Yahoo! email, and I've always used this workaround OK: click on the filename showing as 'being attached' (while Yahoo's doohickey round spinner denoting 'in progress' whirls and whirls to no effect) and use "Remove File"; THEN, REPEAT 'attach file' task & it then works, if slowly. After that for the same email, attaching add'l files NEVER HAS A PROBLEM.
SO, now today, without any software update yet (I've downloaded Firefox v.11 & will install shortly), at numerous attempts during the day, I CANNOT get the FIRST file to attach in a Yahoo! email. Simply, utterly, frustrating without any rhyme or reason. "Everything else, on plethora of sites, working fine."
    thanks.

  • Juno and Yahoo Webmail: Firefox makes the attach file button in webmail disappear and other web browsers don't

Using Juno and Yahoo webmail (only on this computer, not my others) the attach file button loads but then disappears when creating a new email or replying. All other web browsers allow me to attach files using these two webmail sites. This does not affect other sites like school applications to upload files for class in Firefox.

As mentioned in the original post, the user IS the owner and the permissions are WIDE open for the user. I have also tried to disable the anti-virus - no luck. The problem is ONLY happening in Firefox. Chrome and IE work perfect. There is also no problem in Windows. The user can add/remove/edit files in the directory. Right now the solution seems to be to use Chrome. I'm not excited about that, but at this point, the only option.

  • After loading Firefox 19, CacheViewer Add-On no longer works, does not store files for viewing.

I upgraded to version Firefox 19.
CacheViewer 0.8 no longer works. Although I can see the list of files in the viewer, the files cannot be viewed or saved.

There was an older extension named CacheViewer and then a newer one named CacheViewer Continued. I'm assuming you have the latter one. The author's notes indicate there were problems starting in Firefox 18. I'm not sure whether the newest version (still in review) will resolve your issue.

  • The spry pop-up menu I built in Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in my old Firefox, I updated Firefox today and the menu no longer works--despite disabling the pop-up blocker in Firefox preferences...what's the problem??? I need the menu to work!!!

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
    HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

OP is using CS3 and the menu blog is talking about the menus
    in earlier
versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
    don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
    thing....

  • Gmail in forefox no longer works

I have been using gmail in firefox for several years. However recently the following has started to happen:
    1. it loads fine.
    2. it displays all new emails.
    3. However when clicking on the email it is impossible to get the email to open.
    4. By dragging the mouse down the left hand side all the text has a dark grey background.
    In addition:
It is possible to use other web sites ok in Firefox.
It is possible to get gmail in other browsers.
Therefore the conclusion is that something has changed in either Firefox or gmail.
i am currently using gmail in a different browser but would prefer continuing with Firefox as it is the best browser around - or was until recently!

    Hello,
In addition to completing the following as outlined, you may want to update to the latest version of Firefox 33.0.2.
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • AE Files no longer working in Premiere

I do a weekly video for my church, motion graphics were created and I've been using the same files for a year, I do to drop the ae files in premiere exactly the same process every week no changes and the files just show a series of colored bars

After Effects, Premiere Pro, in fact any NLE does not save the source files with the project, only links to the files are stored. No editing or compositing program I have ever used in more than 20 years cutting films on a computer or in 40 years in film and television has ever done that. You have to gather the files and keep them organized. There is no failure on Adobe's part here, only failure to understand and apply proper workflow technique.
I'm working on a film that has more than 7 terabytes of footage can you imagine how long it would take for Premiere Pro to save the project file if it had to re-write 7 terabytes to the hard drive every time you did a save? You'll have to ask the original artist to reload the files then relink them in your AE project. It will just take a moment and if the folder names and locations are the same it will be automatic. Then I suggest that you use After Effects collect files feature to make a local copy you can keep safe.

  • Cr2 files no longer work

All of my cr2 files no longer open in camera raw. This is roughly 1000 files.
The setup used to take these 1000 cr2 files was a Canon T3i in conjunction with Capture One and a tethered USB cable.
Suddenly today not a single file can be opened in ACR. I usually just drop the .cr2 file on CS6 in dock and it opens camera raw. I now get the message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file.". If I instead go open cs6 > file > open > enable: camera raw > open.. it says the same thing.
I haven't change anything in my setup. Same camera, same tethered cable, same Capture One...
Even if I did change something, it shouldn't affect the cr2 files I generated 6 months ago?

When I go Help > About Plug-ins > Camera Raw  I do not see "About Plug-Ins".
