In garageband I can't create new projects
In garageband I can't create new projects it says file couldn't be opened. Checking on web searches some indicate to check under Library... I do not have a Library directory on my system. Garageband came with the Mac. Any clues how to get it to work?

Can't create new projects in RoboHelp HTML 7
When I try to create a new projects in RoboHelp HTML 7, the
Projects Type field is blank on the New tab of hte New Project
dialog box. I just bought this product after using the trial
version for 30 days. I can open the projects I created before but
can't create new projects. Help! I need it now!OK, this problem is solved -- the problem was RoboSource
Control 3.1. I realized that I had installed RoboSource Control 3.1
during my Trial install (the option to install it is checked by
default). By re-running the Trial download (thank God I saved it) I
was able to uninstall RoboSource Control 3.1. (I could not
uninstall it using the Tech Comm Suite installer or the Add/Remove
function in the Windows Control Panel)
Then I ran the Tech Comm Suite install and reinstalled
RoboHelp 7 (without installing RoboSource Control 3.1).
Now RoboHelp 7 HTML works again. Note that only the HTML
version was screwed up -- the Word version ran OK, I just don't
need it.
Finally, I just want to say, Adobe Tech Support *SUCKS*.
After spending a half hour on my initial call on Sept. 26th, "Ken"
directed me to the Adobe Support web page and told me to enter my
problem myself -- thanks for nothing, Ken. He promised a 24 hour
turn around, which did not happen.
When I called back on Sept. 29th, I wasted another hour with
Natasha and Sam, who had me run CSClean, which wiped out my
registry entries for Acrobat and Photoshop, forcing a reinstall of
those products. Of course, that did not help me at all.
Adobe, please stop outsourcing your Tech Support to India --
those guys know nothing!
The replies to this issue on the "Customer Support Portal"
have been slow, indifferent and unhelpful. Shame on them!
I'm posting this fix to this problem on this Forum, so the
next poor slob may be able to fix their problem themselves as I
did, 'cause Tech Support sure won't help! -
Can't create new project or open a project - hangs & crashes every time
I installed PRE8 last night. I can launch the app and get the welcome screen. When I click Create New Project, it initializes the application and opens the window/shell for the PRE8 app with the menu bar at the top, but never actually opens the new project. I can open the menus in the menu bar, but most of the options are grayed out. If I try to start a New Project from the File menu, nothing happens. When I close the application, I get the crash report dialog (crash data below). I am not using NVIDIA video card/drivers (ATI Radeon 1150). Machine is a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, AMD Athlon X2 running Vista home premium. I have done 2 full uninstalls and reinstalls of PRE8 and installed the update to 8.0.1, but I keep getting the same problem. I can never actually open a project, which makes this software pretty darn useless. Any suggestions?

Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.7 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers web sites.
Run Disk Cleanup.
Run Defragmenter.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus real time scanning.
Use the GSpot Codec Information Utility to analyse the file and post screen image.

New mac mini OS X Lion
I have problem with Imoive. When I try to open new projects for imovie....
Imovie can not create new projects and message pops up "Please check there is enough space or you have permission to write new projects".
I have no clue and Disk has more than 300GB now.
Can anyone help me....?I found a similar problem and the instructions said to check a permission box in the "Get Info" tab.
This applies only when the Library is on an external drive. You cannot ignore permissions on the system drive.

Hard to see how deleting files can add data to the iPhoto Library. Can you explain why you thought this?

Make a back up now.
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -
FCS2 Upgraded and updated yesterday.
For some reason starting today I can't create new sequences. New Sequence doesn't make a new sequence in any of the bins (but doesn't crash - just nothing happens), whether from the File menu or right-clicking in a bin.
Importing XML (from Color or even via Color > Send to FCP) doesn't create a sequence either.
Creating a new project gives me an empty project, with no sequences in it either.
Anyone?And, as always, FCP Rescue can make backing up or trashing your preferences nice and easy.

IDVD Freezes when creating new project!?
Hi all,
When I open iDVD, it give me the main screen, I click Create New Project. The window comes up, but it has trouble opening the stuff inside the window, and does the dreaded rainbow ball.. Never comes out of it. I have to force quit it to get out.

Locate a file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and get rid of it. iDVD will create a new one the next time it runs. Empty the trash and run a permission repair using the Disk Utility.

No "Add DAQ Component" Dialog box after creating new project
I'm using VS2012 and have installed Measurement Studio, NIDAQmx, drivers, VISA. When creating a new project in Visual Studio, I do the following:
1. Select C# > Measurement Studio
2. Select NI Windows Forms Application
3. Give the project a name
4. Click OK
5. Measurement Studio Class Libraries window pops up and I check the boxes
The project loads fine but I keep readin about an "Add DAQ Component" dialog box after doing the above steps. Since I don't have the box, I can't create new tasks (without writing th actual code). What am I missing? See attached picture for what dialog box I'm missing.Hi Musent,
To see this dialog box, you'll need to create an NI DAQ Windows Application instead of a Windows Foms Application.

make sure that your page extends AbstractPageBean in the class definition Page.java
you must be importing com.sun.rave.web.ui.appbase.AbstractPageBean.
if so make sure that required libraries references are added .and if not add them your self
( check under libraries node for the library : JSF Design-Time Support- appbase.jar )
this problem can be generated if you were trying to open a project created under creator 2 EA because there has been change in the packaging in the new release.

Movie disappeared after crash, now can't create New Event
Final stages of creating movie (of course!) and iMovie crashes. When restart, project is missing. Online, found suggestion to delete CurrentVersion.imovieevent and other CurrentVersion. files, which I did. I also moved the project files (inside Movies->iMovie Library (show package contents) to a safe distance. The online suggestion-- which had worked for me before-- recommended this, then: open iMovie, create New Project, quit. Move all the imovie project files into the new iMovie Library folder with the new project name, then re-open iMovie. Project should be there. And it was, last time. But for some reason, now iMovie won't let me create a New Event or a New Project, so this doesn't work.
What is interesting is I completely removed all projects/events from the Movie folder to a different drive, but when I now open iMovie, all of my old movies/projects show up except the one I'm looking for. Where is it finding them? It should open up as new. How do I fix this?
So far, have deleted and re-downloaded and re-installed iMovie 10.0.4 on MacBook Air running OS X 10.9.4 and removed all files from the Movie folder. Opening iMovie shows all my projects for the last several years. I have not deleted anything (only moved items), but the trash has all the CurrentVersion. files still in them. Interestingly, there are no "iMovie Projects" or "iMovie Events" folders anywhere-- all the folders/files seem to be stored in the iMovie Library; to access them I have to Show Package ContentsCan you right-click on a folder name in the Lightroom Folder Panel and select "Show Parent Folder"?

Project Server default groups when we create new project site
Hi,
When we create new project site in project server 2013 in site settings page some default groups are already present with some default permissions and some default members.
Interesting thing is that the members of these group are same when ever we create a new site.
Can you please help me understand, what these groups are, how they get created and how they are having some default members. Where are these members coming from.
Our project server is having project server permission mode.

In 2013, for every Project Site (connected SharePoint site as it is now called in 2013), 2 Site specific SharePoint security groups are created: "SiteProjectName Project Managers (Project Web App Synchronized)"
& "SiteProjectName Team Members (Project Web App Synchronized)".
And Web Administrators (Project Web App Synchronized) is also created.
In addition, the default SharePoint groups for: Site Members, Site Owners, Site Visitors are present but remain empty.
Project Server controls the creation of these groups and the membership. The membership is a "formula" that goes something like this: If the user is the Project Owner then put them in the PM group.
If the user is a PWA Administrator, then put them in the Administrators group. If the user is a team member on the project, then put them in the Team Members group. There are other factors like RBS that are used in the formula.
Reading the descriptions of the groups reveals that for Project Managers =
Users who have Published this project or who have Save Project Permission in PWA.
For Team Members = Users who have assignments in this project in PWA.
I believe these are the old 2010 descriptions and actually Team Members = anyone who is part of the Build Team even if no assignments.
Further complicating matters is that if you are a site collection admin, you will see all the groups, for PWA and for all the project site (b/c you are actually seeing the site collection groups).
But only the ones mentioned above apply specifically to this project site.

Can't get rid of a text fragment on the desktop.
It's an email address. I can't select it or delete it. Changing the desktop picture doesn't help. It doesn't cause any problems, but it's annoying.
