In ICal-How do I get the new event to span across multiple days.

If say, I have an event from Jan 1-3, I'd like to see it span across all days, like in Outlook. Not just the 1st day and the other 2 days blank. when I set the start date and the end date, in this case Jan 1-3 the event only shows up on Jan 1. I'd lke to be reminded that the event has 2 more days to it at a glance and not have to open the event. Any sugesstions other than to enter the event in 2 more times?

Set the pref browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Without knowing what you have tried please open System Preferences - Sharing - File Sharing and select File Sharing. If you still have trouble you can call AppleCare in the morning when they re-open. You have 90 days of telephone support if you haven't already bought AppleCare.

If I set up a new user I can open the new version of imovie but my profile doesn't recognise the new version of imovie. The Outlook Plugin for Adobe Send supports Outlook 2010 and 2013. There are no plans to make it compatible with Outlook 2007, since it's a much older version.

Try updating it on your computer. If you get a message that your iPhone is up to date then you actually have an iPhone 4, not a 4s.
Settings > General > About > Model number. What does it show?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup.

I recently purchased a new iPod--I think it's the "Shuffle," whichever one retails for $150. When I plugged it into my iMac, it said I needed to install iTunes 10 to run it. When I checked for updates, it said that iTunes 9.xyz (whatever came after the 9) was the latest version.
How do I get this new iPod to work. As you can tell, I am not much of a gadget junkie, and I'm a bit of a technology incompetent, which is why I purchased the Mac to begin with. I have an iMac, have no idea what operating system I am using--whatever came with it when I purchased it in November, 2008.
