Within Internet Explorer you can click on a little arrow next to the homepage icon and a dropdown appears with a list of your homepages (I have 5). So if I want to quickly check my facebook or e-mail I can click on it and then on whichever I want to visit (both are homepages). It is much quicker than using bookmarks/typing it in and I don't like the 'permanent tab' feature as I don't want them always open. Does this feature already exist?
You can create a folder with the home pages by using "Bookmark All Tabs" to open a specific page.
You can place that folder on the bookmarks toolbar or use the Bookmarks menu button that you can find in the toolbar palette to get access to that folder easily.
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page. -
Are temporary internet files stored anywhere like on Windows?
Can anyone please tell me how to view temporary internet files using Safari? Thanks!Hi
what's called temporary internet files in windows are called the "Cache" in Mac and you can find these files by going to your HOME folder then LIBRARY then CACHES and then finally SAFARI
When you open the Safari cache folder you will see more folders inside these folders are the temp internet files (windows) or Cache (Mac) when you find the individual files you can open them in text edit the safari cache only holds about 20 MB's

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I try to log in to password protected sites and nothing happens but works fine on Internet Explorer. Can't get past log in page. I even had to use Internet Explorer to login to ask this question!
On the page where you enter username and password after entering and pressing "Log in" the page just stays in place. If you look at the error log you see
"Warning: Unknown property 'border-radius'. Declaration dropped.

I can open up a photo from my "Pictures" file In Internet Explorer, copy it, then paste it into the body of my email message ( I use Earthlink webmail). I see the picture fine.
When I try to do the same procedure by opening, copy and pasting in Firefox, a box appears with a photo icon, but no photo. Even when I press "view image" it will not show the picture.
What am I missing?There's a utility available that solves this problem in gmail. It allows you to drag and drop any image on your system clipboard directly into Gmail. Check it out: picturepaste.com

WVC54GCA camera can't see video on Internet Explorer but can on Chrome and Safari
I installed the camera, and I can see the video on Chrome and Safari, but not on Internet explorer Version 8. I can see the screen where the video would go, including the headings, but there's just a red "x" in the upper left hand corner.
To View your Camera on your Computer using IE, you need to Enable ActiveX Control on your Computer for your IE... Open IE on your Computer and Click on Tools and Internet Options.... Then click on the Security tab and select "Internet" and below you need to click on "Custom Level" and under that you will Find "ActiveX " and you need to Enable all the Features of ActiveX and click on Ok...
Once Done now you can try to access your camera setup page and when you click on View Video, it will prompt you to Install Linksyscam.cab File, you need to install that File .. Once done you will be able to View your Camera.. -
Viewing temporary internet files
I am looking to keep track of internet use by other users (my daughter) on my computer. On my PC the Internet Explorer had temp files that I could view. This allowed me to see time, date, and content of any internet activity on my comuter. Is there any such way that I can moniter activity on my Mac?
Hi
Welcome to Apple Discussions
Short of installing 3rd party software to regulate/monitor internet activity, the only record of her activity will be the Safari History file (shows the date, but not the time) accessed via the Menu Bar>History. However, there is nothing that precludes her from erasing the contents of the file. Sometimes 3rd party routers maintain a log of sites visited, however, this information can be somewhat lacking too.
An alternative would be to install a 3rd party application such as SafeEyes. -
I don't have a public version as I'm just staring development.
For an example I have completed the walk-thru at [http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/getting-started-with-ef-using-mvc/updating-related-data-with-the-entity-framework-in-an-asp-net-mvc-application]. Then I tried changing minor items in site.css (such as font size) and the changes did not show up on FireFox, but do show up on Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Example of change below: I changed the background from #e8eef4 to #ff0000. The table header background shows up in red for chrome & IE, but stay in light blue for FireFox.
<code>
table th {
padding: 6px 5px;
text-align: right;
background-color: #ff0000;
border: solid 1px #e8eef4;
</code>You can also reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC) -
I have always played Farmville on Mozilla Firefox. I have all the lastest download, Firefox, Adobe Flashplayer. etc. Now all of a sudden since last night, I can't get into it. I play it through Facebook on Mozilla.
I can play on Internet Explorer but not Mozilla. Why??IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash. Most other browsers use a plug-in version of Flash. Firefox and most other browsers do not use ActiveX. See: [[ActiveX]]
<u>'''Install/Update Adobe Flash Player for Firefox'''</u>: your ver. 10.0 r42; current ver. 10.0 r45
See: '''[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+the+Flash+plugin#Updating_Flash Updating Flash]'''
-'''<u>use Firefox to download</u>''' and <u>'''SAVE to your hard drive'''</u> (save to Desktop for easy access)
-exit Firefox (File > Exit)
-check to see that Firefox is completely closed (''Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Task Manager, click Processes tab, if "firefox.exe" is on the list, right-click "firefox.exe" and choose End process, close the Task Manager window'')
-double-click on the Adobe Flash installer you just downloaded to install/update Adobe Flash
-when the Flash installation is complete, start Firefox, and test the Flash installation here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507&sliceId=1
*<u>'''NOTE: On Vista and Windows 7'''</u> you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). See this: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/run_as_administrator.htm
*'''<u>NOTE for IE:</u>''' Firefox and most other browsers use a Plugin. IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash. To install/update the IE ActiveX Adobe Flash Player, same instructions as above, except use IE to download the ActiveX Flash installer. -
I would like to use Firefox for Outlook Express. I can't find an option in Outlook or Firefox to make Firefox the default to access the web for email through the mail client.
Also, is there a way to stop IE so that it isn't used at all by any program in my machine?
Thanks
CajunRebMatt,
I've tried that. When I go to outlook express, then to tools, options, then connections tab, it says "Outlook shares your connections with Internet Explorer, click the change button to modify these settings", but I don't see a way to do that. It just offers the option of changing settings for connecting to the internet, not which browser.
I'm stumped -
-not possible to open Google account from the Google Toolbar. if i change the password i can access to the account but if, for example, close and open (restart) the browser, the anomaly is back..
-it happens in different computers and with another Google accounts
-with the Internet Explorer there is NO anomaly at all
thank you for your attention,
fernando-i forgot to mention that i have installed the Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.9 to make work the Google Toolbar as well as another extensions
-even with no access to the Google account, i can open some options from it like, for example, Gmail, Google Maps, ImTranslator, etc but NOT the Bookmarks one (a very useful one because you have access to your favorites pages when you are not at home...)
-the anomaly is happening since a few days ago only, before i had not any problem
regards,
fernando -
When I open a bookmark a box pops up that says "What should firefox do with this file? "open with Internet Explorer? When I browse I can't find firefox to change to. Last week this book mark worked perfectly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit") -
