In iPhoto '11 where are movies located?

In iPhoto '11 where are movies located? When we download photos & movies, they aren't apparent in the "Lst 12 months" & "Library" areas. They show up as spearate groupings in the "Last Import" but not in the History. Thanks.

Select a movie in Last Import and Right-Click on it. Choose 'Show Event' from the menu. This will bring you to the Event containing the movie.
If the photo or movie is in Last Import, then it is in the Library somewhere, just not where you expect it to be. Usual causes: the date on your camera is wrong, and so the date on the photo is wrong, or the sorting of the Events has changed (View Menu -> Sort Events)

I wish to clean up my Macbook pro. I deleted movie files in iTune library folder, which should sum up to 20 GB, but I am seeing 50 GB of movie. How can I find out where all movies are located?

LR4 Maps where are my locations saved

Working on lightroom on both my laptop and dektop. I use an external drive for my pictures and my LR4 catalog. All works fine except in map mode saved location (my locations) does not seem to be stored in the catalog. Where are they stored and can they travel on my hard drive?

Right, "My Locations" is a preset. You can store your presets with your catalog for use with multiple computers.

One note about this option, it changes how Lightroom behaves, telling it to look at a different location on you computer for your presets. It does not move your existing presets to that new location. So if you enable this preference setting, all of your presets will seem to disappear. You just need to move them to the new location that Lightroom is looking at.

New Profile Layout - Where are photos located in the new layout

Photos are now located at the top of the Profile, to the right of the Display Photo. When viewing another user’s profile (Secondary Profile), this allows you to see who they are much more easily.
When viewing your profile (Primary Profile), an icon will display that reads, “Add Photos”. By clicking this icon, you will be taken to the photo upload page. Other users will not see this icon on your profile. If you have 6 or less photos on your profile, the photo area may seem a bit blank. Please upload more photos to complete your profile. Our research has shown that profiles with 6 or more photos receive two times the amount of messages! Also, we had previously given the option to display how many photos appeared on the profile. Now it is 5, plus the gallery link, with no option to change. This was done to show larger photos and remain consistent across profiles.

well Tagged, I really like the new clean look you have done well.I do have a couple of things to address, though. 1) Is there any reason why when signing in through yahoo browser, some features dont work. Like when i'm sending a comment to someone, will go through fine, but not if I add my own text, the comment does clear, period. So please...please....could you not configure so us people can all use these new features? 2) MORE GAMES!! With utilities like BBSAK or BBMCP, you still have access to the devices, but you can save/dump/delete .COD files and maybe input RIM command line interface commands (WOW!, thouhg)
So the point it is, .COD files looks like to do not contain the contacts.
Where are located the databases?
Is there any command line interface to dump them and save them in the case of APP ERRORs and white screens of death?

Hello,
Contacts are one of the databases stored in the protected AppMemory area, not accessible by any normal means. Rather, what one must do (IMHO) is practice good backup procedures...a recommended set for which is contained within the link in my auto-sig on this post.
Data recovery is not, and has never been, a reactive venture...protecting ones critical data is a matter of practicing good backup procedures on an ongoing basis.

Downloading photos from iPhone to my MacBook Pro. Where are they located after transfer from iPhone?

I have used iphoto to transfer photos from my iphone to my MacBookPro. I can see them on iphoto but want to move them into files I created in Finder. How can I do this?

I'm wanting to use the Garage Band midi loops in other audio programs. Where can I find them on my computer? I have no problem locating to .aif loops, but the midi loops are very well hidden. Are they even accessible? Any tips, hints?

Are you talking about Photostream or are you just talking about importing your photos to your computer for safe storage? A sync does not do anything with photos in the Camera Roll. Syncing of photos goes in the other direction from the computer to the phone. The act of moving photos from the iPhone is an import, using whatever photo software you have on the computer, such as the Import utility for Windows computers and iPhoto for the Mac.

IPhoto update Where are my photos?

I updated my iphoto 08 and now I can't find my library of pictures. Where could they be? Help anyone.

The Pics are stored in the iPhoto Library in your Pictures Folder.
Or, are you suffering from a blank iPhoto Window?
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library and navigate to the Library in the Pictures Folder. If iPhoto sees a valid library there it will open it.
If it doesn't then you have a damaged library file.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Where are files located

I recently had to wipe my hard drive and now I'm in the process of reinstalling all my software and what not. Before doing this I backed up my whole drive using Norton Ghost and saved it to a second hard drive along with all of my music files. However I would like to know what files in itunes contain my library and playslists, and where they are located. Can anybody help me?

Where are movies cached ?

I often go to sites that have video tutorials on Photoshop and would like to save the movies to review later. I find that on some sites I can save a QuickTime movie to the desktop by right clicking on the movie after it is completely loaded and then choosing save to desktop (I have QT Pro). I'm not able to do the same if the movies are in .WMV format or if they are Flash movies.
To be playing on my system in Safari the movies MUST have loaded into memory or disk SOMEPLACE as some sort of temporary file, but I have no idea where.
Can someone clue me in on where to look for these movies in the Finder?

The simplest thing to do is probably use the Activity window (Window menu -> Activity). From there you can option+double click the items you're interested in to download them.

Lion and iPhoto'11 - where are Original Photo Files?

In previous Mac OSX and iPhoto versions one used to be able to Control click on a photo and get a sub menu which allowed you to go to the folder where the picture file was located. In iPhoto'11 running on Lion that submenu doesn't exist. How do I find the original file so I can open it in, for example, Photoshop, or any other App for that matter?

It is strongly recommended that you do not opoerate that way - it is not supported and is dangerous - you should not be going diredtly into the iPhoto library to access photos - you can set PhotoShop or any other editor as teh external editor for iPhoto and use it as supported - for other access you should use the media browser (in the lower left ahnd corner of the open/attach window under media ==> photos ==>iPhoto

No. Did you create a new user in the Setup Assistant when you upgraded? Several people have done so. The system then boots into that new user account.
Please log out and see if there are two options from which to log in. If so, log in as your old user.

Loaded information from hard drive to new computer without iphoto. where are the photos i had in iphoto?

I spilled beer on an older macbook and it was too pricey to repair. I had the Apple store save all files and information from the harddrive to an external hard drive. I moved all the files and information onto a refurbished macbook. The refurbished macbook does not have ilife, particularly iphoto. All of the photos that I had in iphoto on the old computer are gone. Are they still available someplace? How do I get to them? If I can not access them on my new computer without iphoto can I exchange the old hard drive for the new one? Thank you very much.

The iPhoto library that was on the hard drive of the damaged Macbook will still be there.
I suggest you take the hard drive out of the dead MB and install it in an inexpensive external enclosure. Something like this:

Once you have the drive in the enclosure you can connect it to your new Mac, install iPhoto on the new Mac, and access the library. This step can be tricky, so post back when you are ready.

Where are fonts located in OA?

I'm trying to change the LAF for a responsibilty as per the Oracle® Application Framework Personalization Guide. I need to upload a new font for this purpose and change the settings accordingly. But, Im not able to find out the location of Font files to upload the new font file. Could someone please advise. Thanks in advance.
