Hundreds of my iPhoto pictures will not be copied and will not show when I double-click on them.  When I do in iPhoto an exclamation surrounded by a triangle appears.  Though I can see the picture in the small tiles below it will not expand.  I also cannot attach any of these pics into an e-mail or into any other file.  I have already went through all 3 Repair options and when that did not solve it went through a complete Rebuild.  Any Help?!  Any Suggestions on how to fix this?!  I have spent almost 2 days now going through all of the published help.
I have backups going back 6 months - I have not had the real need to check every album before - but - all of my backups also have this same problem.

The triangle with the ! indicates that the connection between the thumbnail and the orginal is missing - this can be caused by many things including database corruption and user action emoving the originals photos on urpose or by accident
If the database is corrupted then rebuilding is the solution - backup and depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database  --  if the iPhoto rebuild does not cure the problem then download iPhoto Library manager and use its rebuild command which creates a totally new library leaving the existing one untouched
If you have deleted the photos then you need to start over with a new library and import the photos you have not deleted into it
You can select one of the problem photos and use the reveal original in finder commander (file menu) to see if the original is there - if it is a finder window will open showing it

  • Iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo

iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo within iPhoto to enlarge it or scroll all the way to the top to the most recent pictures.  Any ideas? I have the most recent version and all updates are done.  HELP!

Now we try repair the original Library. Switch back to it:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Then assuming you're using iPhoto 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

  • Why music won't play when i double click on it. software issue? i need help

When I double click on a song or hit the play button, it doesn't do anything. I had this problem before but it seemed to fix itself after a few days. 2 weeks ago, itunes, along with any type of media on my computer, stopped working again. If I try to play a video in itunes or WMP, it just skips right through in about 3 jumps without any sound. I also can't stream videos on the internet. Dell told me it was a software issue and I had to pay $150 for them to tell me how to fix it. Nonsense. Can anybody help?

  • Some folders are not opening when I double-click.

Hi.  I am currrently on an iMac, running OS 10.6.8.  Last week random folders stopped opening when I double clicked them.  I found it happening more when I started a new folder ( command n) and renamed it.  Whenever I double click, the folder "whooshes" to the left never to be found.  The folder stays on the desktop and does not open.  The only way to get my items out is to throw the folder away, get an old folder, rename it and take the items out of the trash.
Any ideas as to what the issue may be?  I've restarted the computer, shut down the computer, force quit the finder, relaunched the finder etc.  I have done an "get info" and made sure everything is "read and write" as well.  This is becoming a headache for about a week now.
    Thanks for any help.

Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.

  • Why is library folder not hidden when i double click on Mcintosh HD icon?

When i double click on the HD icon in the desktop I can see the Library folder as well as an opt folder

Something has apparently changed the invisibility settings. This sometimes happens during a system upgrade. It's merely an appearance issue. If you wish you can make the folders invisible using the Terminal:
    sudo chflags hidden /opt
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted and press RETURN again.
The Library folder is supposed to be visible along with the Applications, System, and Users folders.
The only invisible Library folder is the one located in your Home folder.

  • My iphoto movies won't play when I double click them. ***?

Hi friends and holders of the light of communal knowledge. I recently noticed a glitch in iPhoto in that double clicking on movie files fails to elicit the once normal response of opening a play window and then allowing me to press play and enjoy the moment I videoed. Anyone know of a reason, fix, solution? Reaching out, thanking you all in advance.

    Greetings,
This would be a good question for the iPhoto Forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto
What version of iPhoto are your running?
If you drag the movie out to the desktop and then double-click the movie on the desktop, does it play?
Once you have the the movie on the desktop click on it once and then go to File > Get Info.
Change the "Open With" to Quicktime Player 7 and then click on "Change All"
See if this changes the behavior of iPhoto at all.
    Cheers.

  • My downloads will not open when I double click or right click in the download manager. What is going on?

I cannot open my download by right clicking and opening, or by double clicking in the download manager. I have windows 7. What is the problem? I do not have a problem with internet explorer with the same download.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
See "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences - Windows"

  • Iphoto videos not playing, file missing

    Hi there,
I am using a MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.2 and I am having problems with iPhoto (I updated to the most recent version). Everything seemed to be working fine but after a few months of inactivity when I went back into iPhoto I was unable to view some videos and pictures. The thumbnails are still visible but I get this error report "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -54.)" I followed some other disscusions and went in to repair the library because apparently some files were missing. It seemed to help because some of the photos and videos are recovered, but there are still a good amount that are unable to play. The problem is now mostly with the videos. These videos are of my son, so you can see that they are very important to me. I'm not very computer savvy, so should I wait until I can go to a Mac store or can I fix this myself and can it even be fixed? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your help.

A backup of your library would be a copy of it on another hard drive. If you've not established a backup procedure then you won't have a backup.
    You can try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button.
2 -  select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
4 - in the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Check the checkbox to Scavenge orphaned photos. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • Iphoto videos not playing

    Hello,
So about a month ago I realized my Iphoto library was damaged. I have saved the library on my external hard disk that I use for back up to let me laptop run faster. Since I didn't need anything important and was sure that the photos were all safe (right click -> show package contents, etc.) I didn't do anything about it. Today I updaed Iphoto to the latest version with Mavericks and it automatically fixed my library issue. Everything is there, working perfectly... Except the videos.
I have a lot of videos in my Iphoto, not in big size or anything, but whenever I click play I get the following message: ''The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error -54.)''
    Help?
    anyone?:)
    thank you in advance!!
    Sebouh

    Give this a try:
Control (right) - click on the iPhoto LIbrary package and select Show Contents from the contextual menu.
Open the Auto Import folder and move any files/forlder found inside to the Desktop. DO NOT make any other changes to the  contents of the library package.
Launch iPhoto and see if the message is gone or returns.

  • Why is my whole video not playing when I add lower thirds

It's just playing the length of the lower thirds and that's 10 seconds!

There is no way to trouble shoot this problem without comp details or a screenshot. The only guess I can make is that your work area is set to 10 seconds. The other guess is that 10 seconds is the limit of your ram preview because of system resources.
