In Listcube tcode User specific Option disable for Save as Layout

We want to disable global setting option...
So we remove the s_alv_layo AUTHORIZATION OBJECT. It removes saving layout option from Listcube
Do you know how we can disable Default setting option and enable user specific option?

Dear all,
My requirement is i am using a field for ex: bukrs, name1 for an output. when iam using this two field in a program, if that program executes, i need F4 functionality for user specific. f4 functionality should show depends upon the name1.
In a template i have these two variables, when i give name1 as 'ABCD' and press f4 for the bukrs it should display only bukrs which are mapped to ABCD. Lets assume one table is there for name1 mapper to bukrs.
How it is possible. if so please let me know.

I think solution to your problem lies in using MATCHCODE addition to parameters and select-options as well.
(This is from SAP F1-Help)

*Effect*
This addition links the input field of the parameter to a search help search_help from the ABAP Dictionary. The name of the search help must be entered directly. For the input field of the parameter on the selection screen, the input help key is displayed. When the input help (F4) is requested, the user is displayed the hit list from the search help. When an entry is selected, the respective value is placed into the input field. If no search help for the specified name exists in the ABAP Dictionary, a message is displayed in the status line when the input help is requested.
The addition MATCHCODE OBJECT cannot be used together with the additions AS CHECKBOX or RADIOBUTTON.
*Note*
The predecessors of search helps in the ABAP Dictionary were socalled matchcode objects. This is why you have the name MATCHCODE OBJECT for this addition. Matchcode objects that have not yet been replaced by search helps continue to be supported by this addition.
*Example*
Linking the parameter p_carrid with a suitable search help. When you choose the input help on the selection screen, a list with the names of the airline carriers is displayed. If a name is selected, the corresponding abbreviation is placed in the input field.

User specific default variant for FBL1n FbL5n

Friends,
I am trying to create a variant for FBL1n report layout for specific user. Now the issue is the user has to go and select his specific variant every time he executes FBL1n. Is there any way by which we can default the specific variant for specific user.

I was able to use the "With Xib for user interface" a couple of days ago but now when I try to create new object-c file with xib interface, I cant use the checkbox. It is disabled. What may be the problem? How can I create a file with xib again?

Hi ,
You can use "Printer Determination by Output Type/User" , here user is the person who prints the output.
Local printer will be used for regular printing needs from SAP. If there is any specific printing needs like Barcode etc. you have to maintain this at required organisation unit levels..to avoid messing up with output.

WHERE ON MY COMPUTER DO I FIND THE USER SPECIFIC SUPPORT FILES FOR FIREFOX?

I am unable to print anything from the web. When I change user names, I am able to print. I called apple computer and they located the problem to be in the specific support files in firefox, but could not tell me where to find them. I am told that if I can find the specific support files, I can cure my problem. Currently, when I try to print, nothing happens and if I try to make a pdf of anything on line, it is blank when opened. Firefox used to work just fine.

From what I understand, the product team is collecting feedback on the limitations of Live View for FG layouts and improving experience on that front. It would help if you could provide a list of limitations with the current workflow.

In the output of CV04n selection while 'Save Layout' how is it possible to enable/disable
'User Specific' or 'Default setting'

Did you mean Set or enable / disable? Anyways if you want to set, you can do it as follows:
1. Global: I.e. Available for all
Selection Variant: Global do not toggle the User specific box
Description: XYZ
2. User Specific: Available only for the user
Selection Variant: aaa Toggle the user specific box.
Description: uvw

Segregation of global layout and user Specific for IW38 with Activity 23

Hi All,
We have issue that users are able to change the Global Layout in IW38 transaction codes, which is causing lot of confusion for other users. Please can anyone help me to do some investigation around how the access to Global Layout and User-Specific layout can be segregated.
We would like to achieve below things:
1)     Can we control provision access in such way users can only change layout specific to them?
2)     They should not be able to change Global Layout
3)     List of roles having Authorization object S_ALV_LAYO with activity 23.
If anyone already faced this issue, can you please let me know how they resolved it

It's up to the business, but ours wanted the managers to set a global layout for all other users to display only... as sort of a standard report. I agree with you in the challenge of determining who to give the long-term S_ALV_LAYO w/23 global maintenance access. We used to have this S_ALV_LAYO in every role that contained a report access (honest design mistake), hence that is why we created a separate role contained just S_ALV_LAYO w/ 23 access --> to managers only.
In our generic system role that is given to everyone, we have both S_ALV_LAYO (as blank) and F_IT_ALV (as 01, 02) so all non-manager users are able to create/save local layout & still view global layout.
F_IT_ALV activity 70 gives the authority to overwrite other's local layout (the "Manage Layout" access), so we only gave 01 and 02. Be careful here, as giving 03 (display) will make all other activities inactive.

User-Specific Variable in Web Interface

I have created a manual planning layout with User-Specific variables one for Sale Group and one for Sales District.
The variable successfully restricts user access to data when executed in SAP GUI.
A Web Interface was successfully generated from the Planning Folder containing the manual planning layout described above.
When I execute planning via the web, all possible values are displayed, even though the User-Specific variable limits this user to a single value for each variable.
Is there a way to restore the restriction defined in the User-Specific variable ?
I saw an earlier thread indicating that the Planning Level property of the Selector Variable Value for each variable used in the Web Interface Builder had to be set - but that field is protected from input.
Any insights would be appreciated !

Each variable was created as :
-     Replacement Type = User-Defined Values.
-     Restriction of Values required by User = OFF.
-     Input Allowed by User = OFF.
Several users are defined within each variable.
Most users represent Sales Representatives, with a single value assigned to each a single Sales Rep is assigned a single Group and District ( i.e one-to-one relationship ).
The other type user represents a Sales Manager, and includes all the values assigned to the Sales Reps reporting to him.
When Restriction functionality is turned on, the following error message is received :
Restrict variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) to single value
<b>Diagnosis</b>
Variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) is defined so that the user must restrict the values of the variable (indicator 'Restriction of values required by user' is set). However, you have not defined a restriction.
<b>Procedure</b>
Restrict the variable or change the definition of the variable so that restriction is no longer required.
     To restrict the variable, choose Goto -> Set variables and search for variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) in the list. Make the restriction and subsequently continue the planning session.
     To change the variable definition, choose the tab page Variables in the context of planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate) and reset the indicator 'Restriction of values required by user'.
While the first option ( Goto > Set Variables ) seems to defeat the purpose of a User-Specific variable, I tried it. When I use F4 to determine available values, it displays those previously assigned when creating the User-Specific variable !? this doe not seem to add any more than I already have.
The second option effectively puts me back to where I was when I posted the question.
Of interest though, I noticed when the Restriction functionality was turned on, the All value previously displayed as available for selection was no longer available but the specific values for each of the other Sales Reps continue to be reflected, and this user can select values related to another Sales Rep..
As mentioned in my original posting,

Should this object property be open to permit input ? If so, is there a step or setting that needs to be performed. Could authorization be an issue ?

If user specific option is selected in broadcasting setting then system generate the document for each user in the recipient list with their personal setting. For example number format, date format, data authorization and language etc i.e. a document is created for each user. This is useful in case we are scheduling the broadcast setting in background. In case this option is not selected then the document is generated based on user id in authorized user for all the recipient.

Hi Premkishan,
First create the required Themes
System Administration --> Portal Display --> Theme Editor
Select any one of the already existing themes and save as your new theme.
Second - Create a portal Desktop
System Administration --> Portal Display --> Desktops and Display rules
Expand the Portal content. Create your own folder.
Then go to Portal content --> Portal users --> Standard portal users -->Default framework page. Copy this Default framework page and place in the folder you created.
Right click on the created folder and create new desktop.
Now Right click on the copied default framework page and Select Add Frameworkpage to Portal Desktop.
Now go to the place where you created the Theme and right click the theme and select Add theme to portal Desktop.
Now in the creation of the new portal desktop select the entries and select the button "Set Default" for both the options and then save
Third -
Go to Portal content --> Portal Administrators -->Super administrators -->Main rules.
Right click and select edit object.
Click "Add IF Expression". Another IF statement is added. Already existing IF statement is necessarry.
Here you select If user = some user
Click the "Then" Statement
Now go to the Portal desktop you created and right click the portal desktop and select "Add portal desktop to expression".
Now save the rule collection.
You are done for one user.
For other users you follow the same procedure.
Now close the browser and open again. After some time you will see the new portal branding for the specified user.

Can't save ALV layout as user-specific

Hi!
Whenever I try to save an ALV layout the option User-specific is grayed out, so all variants will be public.
Users would like to save their own layouts safe from other users, as happens with program variants.
First of all then, is there any authorization object related to the User-specific option that my roles are missing?
I read somewhere that 'user-specific' option is controlled by auth. S_ALV_LAYO, ACTVT = 23, yet I have
this auth object with ACTVT = *.
Second, if this option was available, would this let users create their own layouts so that other users don't
overwrite them?

in the resue FM check the I_SAVE which value are you passing:
Value range
' ' = Display variants cannot be saved
Defined display variants (such as delivered display variants) can be selected for presentation regardless of this indicator. However, changes cannot be saved.
'X' = Standard save mode
Display variants can be saved as standard display variants.
Saving display variants as user-specific is not possible.
'U' = User-specific save mode
Display variants can only be saved as user-specific.
'A' = Standard and user-specific save mode
Display variants can be saved both as user-specific and as standard
variants. Users make their choice on the dialog box for saving the
display variant.

How can I find out WHY a user keeps becoming disabled in WGM?

I know users are disabled after a certain number of incorrect login attempts, in my case it is se to 7.
But one user keeps becoming disabled for no obvious reason. The user in question just logs into FTP.
Once it has been disabled, I try re-enabling it but if I quit WGM and re-open they will be disabled again straight away. I have to delete the user and re-create them with the same UID for it to stay active.
Its highly unlikely that the user is entering the password incorrectly this many times!

It can maybe be an old alias or something like shared fonts from a server share trying to login.
Maybe not even on the same machine.
Check logs.

Can no longer simultaneously stream an mp3 in Safari when using fast user switching option.

After updating to ios 5, I can no longer stream an mp3 in Safari when I use the fast user switching option. For instance, if you are listening to streaming content in a Safari tab and want to reference another app as soon as you switch from the Safari stream pauses.
This was not the case with previous versions of ios. Any ideas on a work around to restore this functionality to keep Safarr streaming content in the background?

User switching problems is the very first thing I noticed with SL. I have a host of other problems with SL but this is one of the most frustrating. The user switching did not work on 10.6 very well either but was wicked fast in 10.5.x
Apple rewrote the Kernel so this type of thing is expected, still the test crew missed this very noticable problem. Hopefully 10.6.2 has a fix.
