Background info: I have music on my iphone that i would like to change / delete / update manually. Software versions of both itunes and iphone are up to date.
So, in chronological order:
When i connect my iphone to my PC, itunes detects it. Fine. No problem.
I click on the 'on this iphone' tab (where I would expect to see the music i know to have on my iphone)... It says 'Music - zero items'. Hmmmm - i know i have over 1 GB of music on there...
I click on the summary tab for my iphone. 'Manually manage music and videos' is checked. The status bar at the bottom shows i have over 1 GB of 'other' information on my iphone, but no music.
Basically what i'm after is being able to delete and add music from my itunes to my iphone as i see fit. At present i am unable due to the reasons outlined above. Tried contacting Apple direct but providing me with only 140 characters to describe the problem to them is.. well... pretty w@nk.
Any help appreciated- have been scouring the discussion boards but cannot find anything that correlates directly.

Take it to an Apple store and ask. All they can do is say no. They may ask for a purchase receipt to make sure it's not stolen.

where did this backup window come from on my desktop. It specifies personal data & settings and tells me when the next backup is scheduled [which I never set up]. I have always used time machine to backup to an external disc and within the last 2 weeks, this backup window keeps appearing. Where did it come from? Thanks for any help
To check your S.M.A.R.T status open disk utility and click on your drive and then click on the info icon.

My iPad and iPhone have the same syncing calendar but my Windows 7 PC with iCloud does not sync/show the same calendar...please help!
iCloud will not sycn a calendar from an external source. In order to use iCloud to sync it, you would have to move it to iCloud and stop using Google. I know how to do that on a Mac, but I'm not sure how to do it on a PC. If you're using Outlook, I suspect you export it as an .ics file to your desktop, then import it to the iCloud account in Outlook. I'm sure you could use Google to find the specific steps.
However, there's really no reason not to just use Google to sync your calendar across your devices. Instead, just continue to use Goole calendar on all your devices and they should stay in sync. Take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Jj0KFgbYI. -

Hi everyone, so as stated above i have restored my ipad 2 but didnt back up because i knew that i had one with all the apps data on it. So i restored it, but then i noticed that i had photos and videos i had never back up, is there anyway to recover it? I really need them back. Thanks for ur time and help.
Ps: my ipad wouldnt boot, so i had to restoreIf you have enabled iCloud and PhotoStream, you may be able to find them there.

I've forgotten my ipad passcode but when I try to restore on the computer it won't let me as I have to turn "find your ipad" off but i don't know how when I can't use the ipad itself. How do I do this on the cloud?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

You have to connect the iPad to your computer with the supplied cord and be running iTunes on the computer. You need the latest version of iTunes which you seem to have - but read the article. -

I have just upgraded my iPad to ios6 and iTunes is now in Spanish - I am on holiday in Spain. I have also updated my iPhone but iTunes is still in English, can anybody help me get English back on my iPad
I had the exact same issue with mine. But I'm in Mexico. It was forcing me to use iTunes in Spanish even though my account is in the US. I turned my iPad off, then on again, and presto! My iTunes is back into English and my account is recognized again.

I have 830photos on my ipad which have synced with my iphone but they do not sync with my computer (PC). some of the ones on my PC did sync a long time ago but now they dont. can you help with this. once before I had ths problem and had to unistall the cloud and re-install to get the pictures to sync. This is a pain and I realy dont fell I should have to keep doing this.

That is not my Apple ID (at least as far as I am concerned!)
As I indicated, my iCloud email account in the iCloud web page only shows a few very old emails, none more recent than early August.
The iCloud control panel on my PC is the most current as of today.

I have restored my ipad 2 but it still will not let me in it. It gives the message iPad is disabled...connect to iTunes. I already connected to iTunes and went right back to message.
Try using recovery mode. You want to use the computer that you use for syncing your iPad so that you can restore from a backup at the end of the process.

If you have an iCloud backup, you can restore from that as well. If you have no backups, you will end up losing everything on the iPad and will have to start all over again. -

How do I get my photos off 1st generation itouch? I have macbook pro, ipad, iphone. Itouch syncs but does not have option to share in any capacity ie send via email, etc. Also, the computer from which photos were originally taken from has crashed.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Did you fail to back up your pics?
The photo sync is one way - comptuer to ipod.
You can e-mail them to yourself (instructions in the manual), but they will not be of the original quality.
