When you select the share to mail option in iPhoto, you are given the option to resize the photo.

  • Hi I bought 2TB WD my passport for mac but I do not know what I can delete from the original macbook air. Thank you.

Hi I bought 2TB WD my passport for mac but I do not know what I can delete from the original macbook air. Thank you.

That depends on what you have on the MBA...if you have videos, move the videos to the external drive.  If you have a lot of music, create a folder/library for the music and point iTunes there for the music.  If you have a lot of photos for iPhoto, make a new library on the external drive and move our photos over there and then select that library as the default library for iPhoto to use.
Those are the big files and should take a lot of the load off the internal storage.

  • I have many emails in file, is there a way I can delete them all at one time?

Is there any way I can delete my mail all at one time instead of having to check each one first.

You can delete them all at one time but unfortunately you have to check them first. Then in Trash you can delete all.

  • My iTunes 11.0 (mac) has a black background colour and I can not see all of the information.  How do I change the background colour in iTunes 11.0 (mac)

My iTunes 11.0 (mac) has a black background colour and I can not see all of the information for each song.    How do I change the background colour in iTunes 11.0 (mac) so I can see check boxes etc.  My download window shows no information, it is entirely black.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this.  If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode.  If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it.  It is freeware and used to help maintain your system.  Good luck

  • Is there a way to recover a file from deleted trash

Is there a way to recover a file from deleted trash files

Once the trash is emptied only professional $$$ Applications will perform this feat and only if the filespace hasn't been overwritten yet.

  • Why can't I get my mail, I get a message "connection to server failed" but I can get on all other web sites.  It worked fine until about a month ago.

WHY CAN'T I GET MY MAIL, I GET A MESSAGE 'CONNECTION TO SERVER FAILED" BUT I CAN GET ON ALL OTHER WEB SITES.  IT WORKED FINE UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO.  I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT, PUT MY INFO IN AGAIN AND STILL GET THE MESSAGE "CONNECTION TO SERVER FAILED"  HELP PLEASE!

have you tried removing and readding the e-mail account? sometimes settings get corrupted or changed on the server end...something computers can sometimes handle better than the mail interface.

  • Cannot sync iCloud mail on my Mac

I cannot get my iCloud mail in Outlook on my Mac. The message reads "sync pending for this folder". It's been like that for 3 days now. I receive the mail on my other devices but not my Mac. I have OSX 10.9.4 and Outlook 2011. Have checked the iCloud incoming and outgoing addresses and they are correct. Any suggestions?

The Microsoft knowledge base article that @randers4 gave you, in there is how to setup Outlook for Mac 2011. Is that what you have tried/done? Replace "icloud" for the "mac" or "me" that is indicated in the KB. If you've done all that and it still doesn't work, I'm afraid that, as @randers4 indicates, use the Mac Mail app. I've tried Outlook 2004 for Mac and Outlook 2011 for Mac and every Outlook version from 2003 - 2013 on Windows, it simply doesn't work as well as the OS X Mail application. I have missing folders and missing mails.
Any particular reason to stick to Outlook? If you have POP, Exchange, or IMAP accounts as well as iCloud, the OS X Mail app works with them as well. I'm on OS X Mavericks (10.9.4) on MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013) and have Office 365, but I've deleted Outlook. I know this doesn't help, but try to use the Mail app for other accounts as well.

  • ICloud mail boxes on Mac don't alphabetize

The first couple of dozen of my iCloud folders in Apple Mail on my Mac are in alphabetical order, but when I create new iCloud folders, they don't automatically alphabetize anymore, so it's a pain to have to go searching through the folders on the left panel of the Mail window. But when I select a message to add it to the folder, the list of folders that opens up in the contextual menu is in the correct order.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem, and if so, have you found a fix?

There isn't a fix, it's working the way it's intended, you can put your mail boxes in any order that you want, just drag them where you want them

  • Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac. Tried every settings, My iCloud only works with Mail.app

Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac or any other Mac. My iCloud will only work with Mail.app. All the clients I tried work perfectly well as long as I sign in with somebody else's iCloud account. But mine won't work no matter the client (Postbox, Unibox, Airmail...) and no matter the computer.
I can access my account on iCloud.com, but I can't use email clients without getting error messages prompting me to check my password or login.
I was able to use those clients in the past but a couple of months ago I got logged out of Airmail and the issue started just like that!
I tried every possible mail server settings including the following:
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 993
Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
    Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker)
    Password: Your iCloud password

Those are the correct settings, and they work with any email client that supports Imap.
    Try again.

  • Creating iCloud mail folder on Mac

When I create mail folders in IClouds, then they are visible and working fine on my mail system on Mac. But, many times I work offline and hence would like to create the mail folders on the Mac and then let them be replicated to ICloud. How to?
    Best regards,
    Torben

  • ICloud Mail on my Mac won't show correct time zone.

In Settings I have time zone set to central time but mail keeps displaying pacific time. My Mac is displaying central time, so it appears to be an iCloud mail issue. The time zone is correct on my other devices (iPad and iPhone). But on my desktop iMac and my MacBook Pro it does not work.

I am having the same problem. The time displayed on my outgoing mail from my Mac is Pacific time although I am in the Eastern time zone.

  • Setting up icloud mail on snow leopard - what are the settings?

I have converted my mobileme account to iCloud - but due to the hardware on my desktop must remain with Snow Leopard.  How do I set up the mail application to use my new iCloud email account.

To properly set up iCloud mail on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (Which is not supported).  You can do the following steps to manually set  up the account. (TRIED & TESTED)  ***Please know this may not work on all Macs running 10.6.8.
If you have moved your MobileMe account to iCloud or have a straight iCloud account here are the steps for mail  There are no work arounds for Calendars, Bookmarks, or Contacts.
    There are 15 Steps total.
If you are adding the account from mail preferences you will need these steps.
Remove their previous account (after making sure anything important is backed up).
Open the Mail application (On the desktop.  Looks like a Stamp w/Eagle) up on the Mac.
Once you are there, click on "Mail" from the top menu bar and go to "Preference".
    Then go to "Accounts".
Let me know once you are there. Do you see your MobileMe account on the left pane?
Click on your MobileMe / iCloud account and then the to delete it.
    Then click the ( + ) sign:
    1) In the Add Account pane, enter in the full iCloud email address and password
    2) DONOT click 'Create' or it will try to automatically set up the account. Hold down Option and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue
    3) For Account Type, change the drop down menu to IMAP
    4) Change the Incoming Mail server to imap.mail.me.com
    5) Enter the full email address for User Name.
    6) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue
    7) Check the box to use SSL and make sure Authentication is set to Password
    8) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue
    9) Change the Outgoing Mail server to smtp.mail.me.com
    10) Make sure the 'Use Authentication' box is checked.
    11) Enter the full email address for User Name and then enter the password
    12) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue
    13) Check the box to use SSL and make sure Authentication is set to Password
    14) Click Create and Click Create again on the final pane.
    15) Done

  • Since I updated to iCloud, Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 has no problems. What's wrong?

Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct."  Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
