Hi,
FYI, every tone will ring soft to loud meaning the volume will climb up every second. This is to avoid daze when using it in public places.

Why do my purchased alert tones keep disappearing from my iPhone6?

I've been buying a few fun alert tones from the iTunes store and they work fine until I turn my phone off. When I turn it back on the tones are gone and they aren't available in the list of sounds when I go to reconfigure. What's going on?!

Still no update to SMS alert tones!!!! Why?

I really cant understand why Apple seem to refuse to allow the customisation of the message alert tones. Dispite what must have been numerous requests to do so since its launch.
And now we have the iPhone 4, the new iPhone to compete as one, if not the, best smartphone in the world..
Yet we still cant do what I know a lot of us want.
The only reason I really bothered to JB my iPhones was because I could customise the alerts and create themes.
I really dont want to JB this version but still Apple insists on making this a no option. I know guys say its not top of their list but blimey this has been a basic requirement for most guys since the beginning. Not even an App not that I think one could be created given the principal involved in access core software.
But really why couldnt Apple do this small thing??
Instead of sitting in a public place hearing one of those generic tones and watching a good few people all check their phone including me!!!
I am only left with the silent option which really in this day and age isnt a great feature of a £500 phone!!

Your only chance is setting it up as new device without using the latest backup afterwards, which you already did.
If this does not work, you should get it serviced:

Is there a way to set separate alert tones to differentiate between email/text and mere app notifications.......?

Only ringtones can be changed.
SMS (text) can be changed to built in options.

Wish List - Alert tones

Based on my searches, since I'm new to the iPhone, I have found that for a few years now improved sound notifications has been a requested improvement for the iPhone. It seems that this much needed improvement has fallen on deaf ears. I hope that Apple understands the importance of this improvement. Listed here is my wish list, hopefully if enough users respond, Apple developers will address this issue.
Customizable alert tones for the following apps/features
† Email - Each domain / address must have the ability to set a unique tone
Facebook
Twitter
SMS - Beyond the pre-loaded standard tones
Calendars
Alarms
† An absolute must. The others are not as critical, but email tone alerts must be customizable.

Sound quality & alert tones

my blackberry storm 9500 series 5.0 is working perfectly fine until this morning. i cant hear my msg alert tone, and tried to reset it and its the same thing nothing happened. i tried listening to my media player to and the sound just keep on cutting off. the sound quality is not really the same, sounds garbled and same as my alert tones its keeps on cutting off. is there anything i can do with it? if theres none is there a certifed blackberry technician in south california?

Nokia 6280 different alert tone

I am having problems with 6280. When I am running a java game and when I receive an incoming SMS message, the alert tone is different from the tone set in the active profile. All I can hear is a BEEP and it vibrates as well but the default is the Nokia tone. Is this the normal behavior of the phone?

And when I assign for message alert I go Settings-Profiles-General-Personalise-Message Alert Tone(tap)-then have options of Download,Tones,Songs,Video Clips,and sound clips. I select songss-Albums (coz its easier to check 'unknown' where tones end up than all songs) then just select the tone that I dragged to music file from computer after download and use it. Works for me !

Custom ALERT TONE for iphone need HELP please.

I understand how to create a custom TONE as an M4R file and import into itunes into the TONES library.
When i sync my TONES to my iPhone, it lists as a RING tone.
My custom ring tones, which are approximately 10 sec long work just fine when set as my RING tone for incoming calls.
HOWEVER ....
What i am DESPERATELY trying to do is create a custom ALERT tone and have it LIST as an ALERT tone in my phone and NOT a ring tone. Seems custom tones do not work for sms alerts.
I searched EVERYWHERE and can not seem to find an answer. I realize apple wants us all to BUY alert tones, but i should be able to create my own too no?
I created some custom alert tones, approximately 1 sec long each. Converted them to M4R files and sync'd them to my phone.
In my phone they appear under the RING TONES list and not ALERT TONES.
Maybe this dosent matter, however, when i try to set my TEXT ALERT SOUND to one of my custom ALERT tones, they do NOT work. My text messages come in without playing the sound.
Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME figure out how to properly create a TONE as an ALERT TONE for my iphone?

I've never been able to assign custom tones under alerts. It doesn't matter though as you can assign ringtones as alerts as of iOS 5 I believe. I had a similar issue with silent alerts, sometimes they would play, other times theywouldn't, but they would always play when selecting them under settings. Resetting all settings (not content) has so far fixed that issue for me. Try resetting your settings after you've synced your tones.

I have no idea what you mean.
If you mean "Can you set an alert to keep going off until I either answer it or July 4, whichever occurs first", the answer is no.
You can, however, go to Settings > Notification Center > Messages > Repeat Alerts and set it to "Once".

Text tone keeps going quiet for no reason

Hello all.
Since the latest update I'm having a problem with my volume levels.
The text tone keeps going quiet on its own , so low I can't hear it properly but the ringer is still loud.
When I press the + and - volume buttons the ringer noise level goes up & down but the text tone stays the same.
Did it not used to change the volume of both the text AND the ringer?
To turn the text alert volume up, I now have to keep having to go into one of my videos and turning the volume up.
But then if I watch a video and turn the volume down the text alert volume goes down too!
Can anyone please help?

If you are having issues with your text tone going silent, and you are not changing your ring/silent switch, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
iPhone Buttons
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

If you haven't yet registered for My Account, registering will give you access to manage your bills and accounts online, in your time. To register, see My Account for new users.

Select Bill & Payment settings

If you don't already have email bill, select Switch to email bill.Enter your email address, re-enter it, accept the terms & conditions and save

Select more options.You will be taken to the Bill Delivery & Reminders page. Make sure the correct account number is selected.In Set Your Reminders, tick whether you'd like to receive your bill reminders by email, SMS or both for each of the four available times:
when your bill becomes available
2 days before your payment is due
when your payment is late
when a scheduled payment is processed
Enter the mobile number you wish to receive the messages on (if applicable), and confirm the email address is correct
Step 5
Review the information and if it's all correct, select Update.

I currently receive an email to advise my account is available included is an attachment containing the actual bill.
however now that attachment is missing and I do not know which account it refers to.
I do not wish to use the Myaccount facility as I already have too many passwords etc to use and remember & at my age I suffer some memory loss. If the previous attachment method is no longer available I will have to return to the unreliable Aust post system where my mail often fails to arrive. Due to various medical conditions I am often not at my residence. but am able to keep track of incoming bills by email.

It is working through your iPhone 6 through the Continuity feature. This allows any device that is logged in to your Apple ID and connected to the same WiFi network to make and receive calls through your iPhone. If this is not useful to you go to the settings for Facetime and turn off iPhone cellular calls.
