In need of a shortcut - does this exist...?
I view my library by film roll. What I am searching for is a shortcut that allows me to close the roll without having to scroll up to the little triangle and click that. Does this shortcut even esist...? Thanks
Thanks for replying back. What you mentioned I was aware of. The problem for me is that I am trying to downsize my photo library because it is getting too large for iPhoto 5. Scrolling has become painfully slow, and this is in film roll view with all rolls closed, and no fancy stuff to make it even slower. When I option-click, yea, everything opens up, but then I have to scroll again to find another triangle just to close them all. So nothing has been gained here. Depending on how quick Apple is at getting iPhoto 7 released, I’ll either use iPhoto Library Manager (good program, by the way) to split up my library (which I do not want to do), or wait to buy iPhoto 7 and see if my problems are solved.
Anyway, it just seems like there ought to be a shortcut or mouse click to make a film roll close – seems simple enough to me.

The search results pane is gone in V3. If it's critical, stay in V2. I'm not being flippant, I have certain documents that I very carefully keep away from V3 because I don't want to give up the V2 features for those particular files. Some users have reported problems with having both versions active at the same time, so it's best to quit one before launching the other, but other than that you just need to be careful not to open your V2 documents with V3.

I have a late 2009 iMac. I installed OSX 10.8.4 and want to go back to Snow Leopard. I have a 3TB external HD. Are there any issues I need to know about or tips I need to know before doing this? Thanks.
Downgrade Lion/Mountain Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer
loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the
Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the
mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status
of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then
the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART
info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on
the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions
from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS
Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the
partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on
the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups made while on Snow Leopard, then you may do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion/Mountain Lion files. -
I've just downloaded the ipad manual which states that it is for OS 10.4.3 but the manual states that I need 10.5.8 does this mean that I need an intel machine!
No, 10.5 still supports PPC. 10.6 supports Intel only.

In an earlier version (Firefox v.31) on this, and (presently) on two other PC's, I was/am able to run add-on FT DeepDark 11.3.1 without any problems. It was only recently - after updating to v.32.0.3 on this PC that this situation started. The PC in question is a Dell Dimension 8400 Intel P4 running Windows 7, though I'm thinking it may have something to do with the newer version of Firefox. Could anyone help me with this? I like this add-on because it is easier in my eyes when browsing the internet. Thanks
PS: Attempted to install the troubleshooter, and again I received a similar error: "Troubleshooter could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file."This error has been reported before in this bug:

Please read that bug I linked you to and let me know if the last comment in the bug solves your problem. Apparently the problem is about the addon .xpi file being read-only. Try right-clicking it, going to Properties and unchecking the "Read-only" attribute box at the bottom of the dialog. Click Apply, then OK. -

IPhoto had a auto import folder. does this exist in photos for mac?
I used image capture to get the photos from my iPhone, so that iPhoto didn't open every time i plugged in. there was an auto import folder in iPhoto which i could dump my photos in, then when i did open iPhoto it would import everything in that folder. is there a folder that will import everything in that folder whenever Photos for Mac is opened?

What you tried was a very complicated and unsupported way to import from one iPhoto library to another.
The safest way would have been either
to use iPhoto Library Manager to export a new library from the old one
or to export the original files using iPhoto and to import the exported files.
But pasting the Masters folder into a temporary "Importing" folder put your photos at risk. The Importing folder is a temporary cache that will be emptied, when an Import has finished.
It started to get very slow and sluggish, so I decided I would move the photos to a new library on the same drive.
It would have probably sufficed to repair or to rebuild the library and safe all your edits and albums, instead of migrating the photos to a new library.
Since you do not have a backup, and your Masters folder got erased, I recommend to stop using the drive with your library immediately and to try data recovery software, for example Disk Drill. It has a free trial mode.

Apple Application Support - What and why does this exists?
So I welcomed iTunes 9 on my computer and iOS4 on my music player (latter to a great commonly known regret). Now here is my question:
What is the "Apple Application Support" and why iTunes 9 must have it to run?
(Note: Normally many software products there have optional modules which one may wish or may not wish to install depending on required functionality.)

Rate-limit command 3560 does it exist?
I have just come across a command in my router IOS which might be useful too me. I was wondering if the following command is available on a 3560 Switch. I don't see it on my 3550 but the IOS is quite old. I don't have a 3560 avaiable currently to check.
Config t > int vlan x > rate-limit input/output
does this exist on the 3560? I am also interest if it does in the Bits per second range and if available input/output.

Whenever access to the Internet is needed, clicking on any icon or link (including the Firefox icon) results in a delay of around 20 secs., followed by the appearance of the error message, headed "Malformed File". The message reads 'Firefox couldn't install this item because "install rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.'
Clicking OK or closing the box leads to a further delay of about 20 secs. after which the required action takes place! Of course, it could be said that it's really only a delay, so I should just get used to it, but it's still a malfunction, it's a pain in the neck or another region, and I really would like to cure it. I need to delete a calendar event that transfered to my 4S from my Droid phone. This event occurs yearly. When I open this event, the edit button that normally appears in the upper right corner does not exist so I can't delete it. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?
uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end ..
