In need of another slot

Is anyone running Duende and ensemble/duet on a PPC g5 on the same firewire buss with any luck? I need to make space in my Pci-x slots for another uad-1 therefore I must remove a firewire card to insert uad1.
thanks

Anybody?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can add an alias but not a second email address to your iCloud account. You can however add a second iCloud account to your iOS device (which will come with its own email address) at settings> mail, contacts calendars.

  • Do you need an additional slot for the RBS and does the RBS count as an additional hard drive in the Sharepoint 2013 Server farm?

    Hello Community
If you have a clustered Sharepoint 2013 Server farm running RAID 10, on a
clustered WS2012 R2 server that has 10 hard drive slots:
            (4) drives being part of the Sharepoint 2013 Server farm
            (1) drive for the Web App Server
            (5) are for hot swap if any of the production hard drives fail
        The question(s) is:
            - If the server only has 10 slots for hard drives are you still allowed to add a
NAS/RBS drive and does the NAS/RBS drive get clustered also, or does this scenario require
reducing the RAID level down to RAID 5 to allow for NAS/RBS hard drive?
            - Does the NAS/RBS hard drive need a hard drive for hot swap?
            - Does the NAS/RBS drive have to have Sharepoint 2013 Server or WS2012 R2 running on it?
            - Does the Web App Server have Sharepoint 2013 running or just WS2012 R2 running on it?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

RAID 10 requires a minimum of 4 hard drives. The LUN for RBS must be attached to the SQL Server, not SharePoint server, as a local drive. You just need to be running the minimum required OS for the version of SQL Server you're using.
Do you mean Office Web Apps by "Web App Server"? If so, that cannot have SharePoint installed on it. Otherwise, if you're just referring to it as another SharePoint server, yes it would have SharePoint installed on it.

I recently bought a mac mini and I wanted to transfer final cut express 4 from my macbook pro.
Is there any way I can buy another serial number without having to purchase the software again? I already have it on a disk.

I'm pretty sure you need to buy another copy then, but call them or try...

  • Do I need a PCI slot that is a bus master to use DMA transfers?

I want to install 3 PCI-6534, 1 PCI-6602, 1 PCI-6115 S board in a Industrial PC with a single board computer. Do all the PCI slots need to support "bus mastering" to us the DMA of all the boards?

    Hi Chris,
Yes all the PCI slots must support bus mastering. That is the only way for our cards to take control and transfer data via DMA. Most PCs (including industrial PCs with PCI-to-PCI bridges) support bus mastering on all slots. If bus mastering happens to be disabled, here are some steps to change that in the bios:
    1. Reboot your computer. Watch for the message during reboot that instructs you on how to enter the BIOS/Setup. Some systems have these messages disabled, so you may need to check your computer's user manual for the keys to hit. Most computers use a function key (e.g., F1, F2, or F10), but it depends on the system.
    2. Once you enter the BIOS/Setup, look for an menu or option that will allow you to view settings for the PCI Bus. Typi
cal menus will have names like "Advanced" or "Computer Setup". Some systems do not give you access to the settings for the PCI Bus, so if you do not see anything, check with your computer manufacturer for assistance.
    3. Look for an option to "Enable Bus Mastering" and select it.
    4. Save your setting and exit.

  • HT4191 why do you need yet another email address to sync notes

Is there a way to sync ipad notes with an imac desktop without opening up yet another unwanted "email" address?  Why do compaines constantly demand that you open up email addresses through all of them?

Notes are very special, their sync is done by IMAP(mail) server that syncs our emails. In order to sync notes you "have to" be connected to that IMAP and mail account is "your connection". BTW mail "ON" button will not sync your emails - it only syncs email settings between devices, like server rules, blocked servers, etc. It will not reflect on other icloud stuff, but what it will do is move your notes sync from current  sync ( if one exsits) to different. For example you notes currently can be local (on my phone), Yahoo or exchange like google. (you can check that by going to settings - mail contacts and calendars- and under your mail accounts you will see small "contacts" "calendars" and if you will see "notes" that would be your current syncing IMAP.

  • Need the another option to use the fold on Webi 4.1

    Hello Colleagues,
I am converting the Deski to Webi reports, where Fold option is used in Deski on Report level and we are displaying the value on Break footer.
After converting the deski to webi report the format of report got changed and we are getting duplicate values on report. where Fold is not working, i used the fold option on section of report to show only break footer but refresh of report is not finished till 1 hour.
I deleted the break footer but while refreshing the report we are getting the duplicate value which is not merging the webi report. could you please guide us how to solve this issue on Webi.
    Example-
Data available in Database, Note we need to fix at report level
    Name     Class     Roll     Amount
    A             1          1          0.00
    B             2          3          100.00
    A             1          1          35.00
    B             2          3          0.00
    C             3          4          200.00
Result should be shown on Webi 4.1 like Deski output
    Name     Class     Roll     Amount
    A          1               1          35.00
    B          2               3          100.00
    C          3               4          200.00
    BR,
    Piyush

    Hi,
Are Class & Roll defined as dimensions? if not create a dimension variable for them.
If this was the case you can unflag in format table: Avoid duplicate row aggregation.
If this was not the case.
then create verticle table add your objects, create break on Name, manage break > unflag break header, flag break footer and apply sort (display first), put dimensions in footerline and sum([amount] for your measure.  Go to format table and flag show table headers.  Go to Analysis >> interact >> outline and you can fold unfold, the way you want.
    Hoping I could help you

  • HELP!Do I need pay another $400 termination fee for iphone 4 if contract will end at September?

I have a contract of family plan, and my line is the primary line. I am eligible for upgrading at the discounted rates my contract will be ending in September 2011,and I have paid for $400 termination fee without a security number. I am wondering if I am supposed to pay for another $400 termination fee or the Verizon will just extend the return date of my termination fee( only extend mine or all of my family plan members').

Nothing will happen on the day your contract is up. You will continue on as a Verizon customer UNTIL you take action to change that. Your plan will not change, the amount you are billed will not change, nothing will change except that you will no longer be under contract.
If you initiate a port after your contract is up, whether it is 1 day, 2 weeks or 6 months, you will incur no ETF and will only be liable for the monthly billing charge for your current billing cycle AND any overages if there are any. Nothing more.
If you are near your contract end date, there is no benefit from porting out before the actual contract end date, only penalties.
Furthermore, it is unlikely your contract end date coincides with your billing date. For example, my contract end date is 12/4/2014 and my billing cycle ends on the 15th of the month. If I cancel/port my line on 12/5/2014 OR on 12/10/2014 there will be NO difference in the amount I will owe Verizon as long as I cancel/close/port my line BEFORE 12/15/2014. Keep in mind, most carriers will tell you it can take "up to 5 or so days" for a port to complete, so I would suggest accounting for those days when initiating a port. In my case, I would initiate a port by 12/9/2014 IF I were port my line to another carrier.

  • I need to move my Audigy2 sound card to another PCI slot and...

Hello everyone , hope everyone is doing well today. (and everyday!)
As the topic says I need to move my PCI Audigy2 card down slot , got a new BFG 6800 Ultra and need to make some room.
My question is how should this be done with as little trouble as possable , I really want to (if possable) avoid at all costs an XP reinstall.
I think if I try to remove the card through DM then shut down and move the card to another slot and then start the PC (I have my BIOS set to plug and Play OS) it should detect it and reinstall it in the other slot. But with IRQ problems being what they are , all that should be sometimes isn't.
I have once before tried to remove all creative drivers , then uninstall the card and move it to another slot on another system (NForce chipset) and wound up doing a major reinstall because it would not see the card , but I have an ASUS K8V SE Dlx (VIA Chipset) now and it seems to be a more trouble free board than Nvidia.
Well thats about all I have for now , if anyone has ever doen this before I would really appreciate any help/tips before I take the plunge.
    thanks ,

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Install iTunes on the new computer.
Launch iTunes on the new computer.  Everything in iTunes will be exactly as it was on the old computer.

  • I want to install Snow Leopard Server on our MacPro (2.66) using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server disks?  I kept getting an error for backwards compatibility.   Is this possible or do I need to purchase another copy of Snow Leopard Server?

I want to install Snow Leopard Server on our MacPro(2.66) using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server disks?  I kept getting an error for backwards compatibility.   Is this possible or do I need topurchase another copy of Snow Leopard Server?

The OS disks that are shipped with a particular product
are set up so that tey will only install on that product.
It will install on any Mini of that exact vintage, but that
    is all.
This is to prevent people from doing exactly what you
are trying to do.  The license for OSX shipped with any
is only valid for that product.  Also, Snow Leopard,
including Server, is only permitted to be run on one
computer at a time.  Bottom line, unlike Lion, legally
you cannot install the same copy on multiple
computers unless some "family pack" or site license
    is purchased.
Yes, you need to purchase another copy.
The copy of Snow Leopard license is here:

  • 'group by' works good, but need another column

    Hi,
I am seeking for better construction for next issue, this code is not good-readable and seems I can't add another column to returned output:
    ;WITH q AS (
SELECT srvs.description as srv, apps.description as app
FROM srv_link_app as link LEFT JOIN servers as srvs
    ON link.srv = srvs.id
    LEFT JOIN apps
    ON link.app = apps.id
    SELECT
    FROM (
    SELECT DISTINCT app
    FROM q
    ) qo CROSS APPLY
    SELECT CASE ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY srv) WHEN 1 THEN '' ELSE '; ' END + qi.srv
    FROM q qi
    WHERE qi.app = qo.app
    ORDER BY
    srv
    FOR XML PATH ('')
    ) qi(srv)
Works perfect, It connects 3 tables: apps, servers, link and groupy by column servers. So,
    link table is auxiliary connection.
    Output is:
    app1 | server1;server3
    app16 | server6;server13
It's good but I need add another column app.long_info, for example (Output):
    app1|srv1;srv2;srv5 | app.long_info here

Can you post DDL? What little you showed us is a mess. You have a magic generic “description” that transform from servers to applications in violation of ISO-11179 Standards, logic and data modeling. Likewise, you have the classic noob “id” that also morphs
from servers to applications. I will bet it can be a squid or an automobile, too!
    >> So, link_table is auxiliary connection. <<
Auxiliary connections?? I never head that term before and I think been around SQL for awhile :). The term “link” comes from 1970's network databases. It was a type of pointer structure. Pointers connect, references do not. We would never use it in RDBMS. We
have n:m, 1:m or n:1 relationships and the relationships have real names. Using OUTER JOINs makes no sense.
Next, I see you hate Dr. Codd and First Normal Form (1NF). You use XML to make the code hard to port, hard to maintain an unpredictable. Good SQL programmers write and do not do display formatting in the query.  This is the principle of any tiered architecture,
    not just SQL.
Here is my guess, with clean up:
    CREATE TABLE Applications
(app_id CHAR(12) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
     app_description VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL,
    CREATE TABLE Servers
(server_id CHAR(12) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
     server_description VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL,
    CREATE TABLE Application_Assignments
    (app_id CHAR(12) NOT NULL
       REFERENCES Applications
      ON DELETE CASCADE
      ON UPDATE CASCADE,
     server_id CHAR(12) NOT NULL
       REFERENCES Servers
      ON DELETE CASCADE
      ON UPDATE CASCADE,
    PRIMARY KEY (app_id, server_id),
Since we have no sample data, no sample output, we can only guess. But your terms an approach are completely wrong. Have read any book on data modeling or RDBMS?

  • Usb + firewire issues = kernel panic - help needed!!

Hello, and please forgive my english, I'll do my best!
So, i have a 1,25 Ghz MDD G4, with 2 x 256 Mo RAM sticks (at first), running mac OS 10.3.9.
As the original HD is too small, I work with my documents on an external firewire HD. The HD is plugged on a third party/PCI firwire card that went down.
On the same day I bought a new firewire card (trendNet, it was said to be mac compatible form mac OS 8.6) and 4 x 512 Mo of Ram (Hynix).
It worked just fine for a week and suddenly my mouse froze (and keyboard too > the mouse is plugged on the keyboard). Having no control on my mac (which seemed ok despite the usb deconnection) I had to hard reboot on the central Unit.
I unplugged the usb hub that occupied mu 2nd usb port (there was a wacom tablet and a flsh memory key on it). I left just the keyboard plugged (and mouse plugged on keyboard).
It was fine for... 2 or 3 hours and then it started again > mouse + keyboard deconnecting/freezing (the keyboard is a mac one, the mouse a microsoft one -optical-).
As the small red optical light of the mouse turns off when the mouse freezes I first thought the mouse or keyboard itself was the culprit.
I tested both of them them on a macbook and they worked just fine (never had a problem with them).
I ran disk utility, repaired the permissions. And it seemed better for a couple of hours.
When it happened again I unplugged the keyboard and plugged it on the 2nd usb port (which was free since I had unplugged everything else) > the mouse "came back to life" and I didn't have to reboot. But it happened again, like 2-3 times (every hour/half hour) until swapping the usb plug on the UC doesn't solve the problem anymore > hard reboot again...
    Then I tried EVERYTHING
booting with techtool CD > everything ok, no pb found
running onyx to empty the cash and rerepair the permissions > ibid, no pb
    resetting the PRAM with cmd-alt-p-r
    resetting the PMU
resetting the usb and firewire ports after each hard reboot
    cleaning the dust
removing my old scsi pci card (not used for ages)
moving my new firewire card on an another slot
    installing a firmware update
nothing has solved the problem... it seems to arrive randomly, but mostly (more frequently) when working with several apps open.
The cursor seems to freeze for very very short periods (as a warning!) until it freezes for good > it's exactly as if the usb didn't deliver any electricity for micro laps of time (and it is the case I guess as my optical mouse light turns off).
So I change the usb plug into the other port and it works for a while, just as if only one usb port was functional at a time, but it always ends with a hard reboot (no choice).
It's always scary but it's also very annoying as my Western Digital Mybook external drive refuses to mount on desktop after hard reboots... I have to unplug it, replug it, restart etc... well this HD is a pain but I guess it's because it's in FAT 32 (since I forgot to format it when I bought it). So I don't bother too much about the HD itself, but however it seems that the firewire card suffers from this : I have a lot of trouble mounting 2 disks at a time (but with all this I need to backup!). It's like the fiwewire ports (of the pci card) suffered from the same pain as the usb : one at the time! and when I finally mount both external HDs, if I unplug one (after unmounting it and switching it off) the computer freezes.
Then one day I opened itunes, and... kernel panic...
That was 4 days ago I think and I've had like 3-4 KP since then (one a day). These kernel panic happen just as randomly as my usb deconnexions...
Today I tried my last chance : removing the new Hynix ram and putting back my 2 old 256 rams.
It was ok for a pair of hours and then > mouse freeze and kernel panic again...
I reaaally need help, I don't know what to do anymore. I've spent my last week unplugging usb plugs, opening my UC, repairing permissions etc...
    now I feel helpless...
Here are some extracts of console logs I've had :

Is my mac dying?? Does all this come from defectible hardware? Is reinstalling a sysem a waste of time?

Hello, and please forgive my english, I'll do my best!
My complements on that. While I read the post quickly, it was only later that I saw you're in Paris....
Anyway, I'm not an expert on logs (system and panic ones), but from what I can tell there is a problem with the PCI USB/Firewire card you installed. It looks like it's the USB portion of the card; those are happing at startup when I'm pretty sure there's a kind of initial checking of the PCI cards.
May 14 22:57:42 localhost kernel: 0 0 AppleUSBCDCECMData: probe - provider doesn't want us to match

The panics show dependencies to USB and FW:

    com.apple.driver.AppleUSBHub(2.1.5)@0x539000
    dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily(2.1.5)@0x471000

    dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOFireWireFamily(1.8.8)@0x407000
The problems with the card at startup are probably creating an unstable condition, which in turn is causing kernel panics later on.
Basic things first, whenever you change the hardware setup, e.g. RAM and adding cards, it's a really good idea to reset-PRAM. Did you do that? Try that first, it's simple and easy enough to try.
If resetting the PRAM doesn't help, then try the new PCI card. I re-read your post a few times, but I haven't seen whether you tried removing the PCI FW/USB card to see if that helps. Try your mouse and some other devises on the native USB and FW ports. If you're stable, then it very well could be the card.
Of course there's also the question of the RAM, which you pulled without help. Again, after any change of the hardware (adding RAM, pulling RAM, adding/pulling cards, etc.) even during testing, reset the PRAM at startup.
With new RAM it's usually a good idea to test it, with say AHT CD or Rember. If you test, you might want to do this without the new card. It's a little tricky right now because you added 2 new pieces of HW (RAM and FW/USB card) either which or both could cause the problems you're seeing. OS X is picky about RAM, and the MDDs in particular are extremely picky about RAM as far as Apple HW is concerned.
Lots of kernel panics can eventually cause damage to the OS X installation. So in the end, it may be worth re-installing. But, before you take that route. Try the simple things like removing the PCI FW/USB card & testing, and testing the RAM. Take it one step at a time.

  • Urgent help needed in configuring X1151A

for RAC requirements I have to configure this card to use the interface name of ce1 but I have tried changing slots and puting /etc/hostname.ce1 file out there but it fails .. it always comes up as ce0.
my question is : How can I cofigure this card to come up as ce1 ? in the other box I had to do nothing .. i just placed the /etc/hostname.ce1 file with hostname and it works perfect.
can you please email me a copy of your response at [email protected] ?
    thanks
    Sami

For the discussion in this forum thread, the path-to-inst file
can be though of as a repository of every device path
for every lump of hardware that was ever installed to a system.
It tells Solaris where to find the devices, along their communication interconnect paths.
Thus a device driver can know where to sends its commands
and where to listen for any return signalling responses from the device.
Issues can arise if a device was successfully installed to a path,
such as when a PCI card is installed to a particular slot,
and that card gets moved to another slot.
The path-to-inst file will "remember" the old path, in case you return the card.
No software structures need to be re-built when it reappears in its old slot position.
The former functionality is maintained if ever needed again.
The new position initiates a new entry into the file,
such as when there are two of the same cards instead of the original solitary card.
For your circumstances, there's got to be something in the computer's configuration
that can isolate the data streaming to IP address #1 ( such as for ce0 )
from whatever data might need to go through the other IP address ( such as for ce1 ).
My suggestion for you is to use the devfsadm command.
    Review its man pages.
Decide how you want the computers to be configured -- probably using ce0 on both.
devfsadm -C will purge out stale entries and rebuild the path-to-inst file.
A reconfiguration reboot, such as might result from a boot -r,
only appends new device instances to the file.
There's no cleanup, or 'housekeeping', done to it.

  • Need help with XiFi Platinum... Not worki

Hello everyone, I'm having (some?) trouble with my XiFi Platinum. I've had it for a little over a year now, and I personally think it's broken but I just want to be sure before I go out and buy something to replace it...
So yesterday it worked fine justl like new. Then I installed a new 8800GT (From 2 7900GT's being removed) and connected that. I had to rewire some things, move a harddri've around to make it fit, etc, but i didnt really mess with the soundcard, there was no need to. But when I turned the computer on after installing I find that there is no sound at all. Windows didint even detect the card anymore and simply said ''no audio device'' in the sound properties.
I then proceeded to re adjust the card in the same PCI slot and after reboot windows did recognize the card properly. I continued to test if it worked, because all the software settings said it should be working. I turned on my speakers and without even having any audio files running i had this high pitched ringing noise that never went away (until i turned off the speakers).
OK so I thought it might have been the PCI slot, so I doubtfully tried another slot. The card isn't recognized at all in the second slot, and I go back where I started to ''no audio device detected." I deleted the Creative drivers and downloaded the most recent XP32 ones that I'd need (SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_5_0006.exe), but at the start of the installation it simply said something like ''there is no supported device detected, installation will now close.'' So at this point I'm not sure what I need to do because I think it's broken...

Also, this is a ''relati'vely'' fresh install of win XP that I did about 2-3 weeks ago. Reinstalled nVida drivers last night after installing the 8800GT. At this point I'm thinking that i might have burnt out the card at some point while working with the computer, and I can't see otherwise, but I dont know..
    Any help is appreciated.:manvery-happy:
**EDIT** I forgot to mention that after I switched the card to a new PCI slot it was detected by Windows as a new PCI device, but it didnt work and I couldnt install drivers. Strangely I think the bios got reset or something because after I moved the card the MSI logo was displayed as opposed to the boot information, which I had it set on. The clock also got reset.. I'll have to look more closely at the bios to see if anything else got changed too.

Try with better PSU, single rail with at least 40A at +12V
Any recommendations for a better PSU, I've also been looking at the stats for my current psu
    quote some specs on it..
"Triple 12V Rails provide independent reliable power to the CPU, video card and other components with a combined rating of 50A (40A on 520W) maximum! Advanced circuitry design that automatically enables power sharing between the triple +12V rails in an event of overload on any single +12V rail."
Really thought this PSU would handle it.

  • Why do I get Error -10007 when I move an SCXI-1143 module to a different slot in the chassis?

I moved an 1143 module to another slot in the chassis and now when I call AI Parameter.vi to set the filter cutoff frequency it produces error -10007. The inputs to AI parameter.vi are:
    channels - sc1!md10!0:7
    operation - set
parameter name - Filter Setting (14)
    float in - 2000
I found document ID:22F191QY that explains the need to configure all channels for the same cutoff frequency, since the cutoff frequency is per MODULE, not per channel. The channel string I've entered should account for this. I tried "-1" too and it produced the same error.
The example that ships with LabVIEW (SCXI-1143 Configure Filter.vi) leaves the channels input empty. This is fine if you do
not have any other modules that need to be set using the Filter Setting (14). However, I have an 1126 Frequency module that also uses this setting -so each call to AI Parameter must specifiy the module number.
I'm using the following modules: 1520,1520,1520,1143,1126,1102,1102,1125,1125,1143.
and using channel strings in every case rather than virtual channels from MAX.

I discovered the source of the problem. The problem arose because this was the first time I had ever put a module past slot 9. Somewhere in the code that generated the channel strings, there was an error handling a 2 digit slot number. The error -10007 occurred because I was trying to set the filter setting on module 10, while not having a module 10 in the channel list. Module 10 had been truncated to module 1 in the channel list. Once I fixed this problem, it worked fine.
