In need of some experienced and willing Mac help for a Macnewb, Please!=)

Hello & thank you for giving me some of your time & looking at my topic. I am very new to the Macworld & am having some unidentified issue(s) with a mid2010 MBP such as: firefox & Safari both frequently crashing & refusing to load pages, general system slowing and freezes, many force quits required for various (nonpattern) apps. After a brief visit to the Safari forum I decided to have another look at the console logs but came up short for crash logs that really coincided with the freuqunt issues occuring. A Sagitarius, I am never satisfied with the results unless they achieve what I intend them too, I continued to peruse the log, after all its only a log(right?) & I dont believe someone with basic, albeit limited, knowledge could screw up things via the logs but Ive been wrong, none the less , I did not touch(alter) anything. What I did come across in the "private/var/log:kernel.log" was something that even with my limited knowledge apears somewhat suspicious, enough that I believe it warented my first 'copy & paste for assistance purposes' , to date, despite having suffered through windowsWHATEVER for all my life prior to about 3 months ago. {{SOrry, I dont intend to be long winded but I acknowledge my tenancy to being overly throrough & my inability to leave out my personality as well. }}Thank you once again.
Log as follows:

  • Scoring and saving points.Help for a neewbie please.

Hi folks - Im a novice (but keen and pretty quick on the uptake!) xcode 4.3.2 programmer (and coding generally) so please be patient and supportive!
I'm developing an iPhone app that asks a simple question, invites user to press a button 1-5 in response then stores that number. The user is then invited to go to the next question.
This process is repeated 10 times. i.e 10 questions.
Upon completion of all 10 questions, the app then takes the three lowest numbers, shows what they are along with a written response for that particular combination. when the user has read it they can store it for later use also.
The idea is that the user learns from the written response (they can read them again at their leisure anytime), and then takes the 'test' again after a pre-determined period (x days) and (hopefully!) sees an improvement. This process will be repeated: test-score/response-store, test-score/response-store etc etc for as many times as necessary.
Ive developed the user interface - the user selects an image on a table view in response to the question, moves on to the next question etc - and its all connected up as a story board. It works great & looks good. However, Im struggling with learning the underlying  code - to perform the functions I've stated above. Ive looked at tutorials from variuous sources and found some of them very helpful - particularly with storyboard dvelopment - but I've found nothging that meets my needs for the coding. So I'm hoping someone can take me under their wing with some coding, or point me in the direction of some well tailored tutorials - or some combination of both!
Ive found that the storyboard approach to app development really works for me since I come from an interactive dvd development background - but story board is noy the whole story (pun intended!) or can it be?
I look forward to the day that I can offer support on these forums, and that day will come but for now I could really use some help.
Thanks...and I sit here with baited breath!

yes, the software is on your Mac but it isnt licenced or owned by you so the digital rights management system Apple employs is blocking the application from being used. Its to stop illegal distribution of downloaded software.
my only suggestion is to phone Apple and see if they can transfer ownership

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.
Sorry but you are stuck without new hardware.

  • Need some intermediate and advance level website for SQL

    Hi Gurus
I want to improve my SQL skills, is there any website through which I can improve that skills.
Need some intermediate and advance level website for SQL.
    appreciate your suggestion. Thanks
    Regards
    Shu

if you have a lot of time you can follow some of the larger threads on AskTom. I think Mr. Kyte can do almost anything with SQL. And there are also some recurrent contributors as Stew Ashton provinding very interesting solutions.
Another option is to take a look at the answers in this forums: some participiants as Frank Kulash or Solomon Yakobson (to name just two of them) come up with astonishing pieces of SQL frequently.

  • How to Restrict printing the document using IRM for a Single Document?Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library?

Can we able to Configure the IRM in Document Level in SharePoint Document libraries?
The document library contains multiple document sets , Can we restrict the printing according to document sets? Allow printing for some documents and restrict the printing for particular documents in same document library
     Is this possible?Please suggest.

Yes, that can be done. But note that all administrators will have the same right to print, so you need to make sure the users are not administrators. You can include a macro to disable printing, but if the users disable macro, they can print the documents.
Hence, there is no foolproof way to prevent printing documents. If you still need a foolproof security, PDF format provides password based security (viewing doesn't require a password) that can be implemented to prevent the document from printing,
which doesn't require any special scripts and is tough.

I currently use an iPhone, an iPad, and a Mac computer for business.  The three devices have Contacts Managers that sync with each other through both Google and through Mobile Me.  Currently, this has created a mess of duplicate contacts.  Please advise me on the steps necessary for removing these duplicates and establishing a syncing solution that doesn't regenerate the duplicates.  There are several applications available that remove duplicates, but I am not sure which ones work or don't work.  I want information on this, but most importantly I want to understand how to fix this problem permanently.  Also, I read somewhere that Mac's new operating system, Lion, can help deal with duplicates.  I don't have Lion, but I would be willing to get it, if this would fix the problem.

Had the same problem with 4 devices (two computers, an iPhone and an iPod). The solution is simple: open the Address Book application in your mac, ask it to locate duplicate entries (under one of the top menu items, "edit" I think), and then ask it to consolidate them: it took me all of three seconds after I figured it out: worked like a charm! PS: if you have more than one mac with unconected Address Books, repeating the operation in the second one may be a good idea.

The warranty for the iPhone is not and has never been International.
Warranty and support are ONLY valid in the country of origin.  The only exception is the EU where the entire EU is treated as one country.
If the device will be used in India, buy it in India.
An unlocked iPhone will work on any supported GSM carrier world wide.  The LTE portion of a US purchased, unlocked iPhone is unlikely to work outside North America as it does not support the appropriate bands used in other countries.

Is CDN built in Azure Websites or CDN needs to be created and linked to website for content sharing...

    Hi
CDN is a separate service in Azure and you can serve your content there.
Then your azure website can use those CDNs that you provide in azure (just like any other CDN out there like Jquery Ajax etc ..)

This is an open forum, not Adobe support... you need Adobe staff to help
    Adobe contact information - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
-Select your product and what you need help with
-Click on the blue box "Still need help? Contact us"

You didn't buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 3GS - you bought a 'hacked' one.
Updating to iOS 5 removed the hack and the unofficial unlock.
All you can do is try to find out which network the phone is locked to and ask them if they can unlock it properly.
Otherwise, sell it or throw it away and buy an officially unlocked phone from an official source.
