In Need of some Primavera contract management Study/Training/guide/material

Hi,
I am a student at University of Minnesota. I was looking if somebody had Contract manager v13 study/user guides or any material that can help a novice learn Primavera Contract Manager?
I am willing to pay for the Shipping.
Also can anybody Suggest me what books are good, or where should I start learning Contract manager?

I had already found the user guide, infact much easier way to download it is at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/primaverapcm-087479.html
The problem is this user guide jumps into too much CM terminology without creating a knowledge of it. I am having problems following the user guide.
Has anyone found another book or presentations or videos that could help......
All the power users should start posting videos on how to use contract management on youtube... It really does help a ton.

We are using Primavera Contract Management Version 13.0.4.0 Build 2025 , The Log number in Correspondance Recived has been reached 10000 now , it is not auto generating the number , how we can enable auto generation after 10,000

Hi,
Basically in Contract Management, auto increment fails after the previously defined range of numbers is reached so the application requires leading zeroes to auto increment to next sequential number.
Example:
In the Correspondence Sent log, if the first document number is 0001, then the last document number was 9999.
When creating the 10,000th document, Contract Manager assigns the number as **** and the user needs to manually update the document number. Leading zeros have been removed from document number.
Workaround:
Restore the leading zeros in the document number. It is recommended to manually change the numbers of all existing documents in the specific log experiencing the issue.

i have Primavera Contract Management 14 set up for intranet access on my network. how do i set it up for intrenet access for my remote users?

The domain name is registered with a DNS (Domain Name Server), which identifies a domain name with a unique ID i.e. IP address (A bunch of 4 groups of 3 digits each).

i have a big problem!
i made integration between the PCM and sharepoint 2010 and make migration from the file system to sharepoint.
the sharepoint database reach 355GB
after that unfortunately, when i try to open large pdf attachment through PCM(Primavera Contract Managmnet) it take much time then whan was opened from the file server.
i made everthing upgrde the RAM and processor but the problem still exists.
please help!

but, we faced the performance issue as mentioned above.
the large files (begin 5MB) take a lot of time to open through the PCM

Primavera Contract Management 13: On Win7x64

We are migrating to Win7x64 Enterprise and I've ran into a problem. So far nearly everything is working great except the Print Preview or Print(top of web page). When creating a print preview the following error occurs: : Failed to generate to PDF file. DataStore.SaveAs() returned -1"
Has anyone else received this error and determined a resolution?

Contract Management 14 is tested and supported for use in a 64 bit environment while Contract Management 13 is only tested and supported for use in a 32 bit environment. However, Contract Management 13 can be installed into a 64 bit environment. The only issue that I ran into was printing did Not work correctly all the time. Since Contract Management 13 is not tested or supported for use in a 64 bit environment, getting support for any problems that you may run into will be difficult.
There is an unofficial workaround for getting reports/forms to view on 64-bit machine by replacing specific dll files.

i need to stop or configure the Download File In Chunks when PCM get file from sharepoint because it take large time to downlaod the file.

Help with Infomaker tool for editing Contract Manager Template

I am new to Primavera Contract Manager (11i) and has been assigned with a task of editing one Submittals template on the system as the person who was handling it left the company.
On doing some research I found out that it is done through the Infomaker tool and I was able to do so the test server.
But on the live server, whenever I try to open the same template using Infomaker, it will ask to select the database, once we select the database which is Oracle 10 G express, it quits even without showing any error message.
I tried creating a new user on Oracle to make sure it is not because of wrong user name and password, but what ever details we give, infomaker just quits when tried to connect to any database.
Can you kindly help me to trace out the issue?

The rule used in workflow template WS50100021 is a standard one. So try to find out that on what basis it is fetching the agents. It could be the case that the logic specified in the rule does not fulfill your requirement.
The other reason could be that you have not specified the task as general. Please check if the agents tab is activated(green) in the task or not. If it is not you need to set the task as general.
SOLUTION : if you want to get the workitem in your own SAP Inbox for testing purpose, you can set the WFINITIATOR as agent instead of that standard rule. This setting will send the workitem in your own SAP Inbox.

What is the best practices for the number of users operating in Primavera Contract Manager? We currently have v13.0.3.0

There are no real limits to the number of users working in PCM, but your server(s) must be sized correctly to work effectively. I've seen PCM instances with hundreds of users. Sizing requirements is typically included with your installation materials; otherwise you may want to look at the knowledgebase for this document.

Contract Manager v 11 problems

Our company purchased Primavera Contract Manager 11.0 a few years ago and never really used it.
If possible I'm trying to get this running as a test server to make sure we can use it for our projects before upgrading to the current version.
I'm installing on Windows XP SP3 and I'm getting a lot of errors.
During installation I received this error.
The populateGroups utility failed.
Rerun this utility after this setup is finished.
I can get to the local login web page but after entering the login info this comes up:
The application's digital signature has an error. Do you want to run the application?
I hit OK.
The application requires and earlier version of Java. Do you want to continue?
DetectPluginApplet
I hit OK.
But it never logs in. It just stays on this login page.
When trying to use database wizard to update databases or creat new one I get the error:
Database Server Error: Named Pipes Provider: Could not oepn a connection to SQL Server [53].
So is there any hope of getting this running or do we have to spend $1K to be able to use this? The boss already spent $2500 so we would like to use

First off the maintenance support was let go in 2008. We'll have to purchase all those years and 2011 which cost about $1K which we'll do. I just want to get logged into the Application and show the boss what's possible first. I hope v.13 isnt' this difficult but I know I'm learning.
Yes the populategroups utility now works without error.
That EXPADMIN takes me a step further but after trying that login the message below shows up on the login page.
"Cannot open database(s) EXPADMIN, CMDEMO, EXPADMIN, because it was created with a previous release. Please convert the database(s) to version 11.1 or contact your Contract Manager administrator."
I thought I did that already but apparantly not.
Updating the databases to 11.1 isn't very straight forward. Using the CA.exe is rather difficult. I get the error : "Database Server Error: Named Pipes PRovider: Could not open a connection to SQL server [53]."
The CM service is stopped.
Where do I get the Instance Name of the EXPADMIN? It's not in the InstallParameters.log as the others are.
Here's the installParameters.log if that helps:

Need Help - Contract Management & Marketplace

Hi,
We have got some requirement of developing 'Contract Management' and 'Marketplace' applications. In contract management the complete business process starting from demand planning, hiring, mobilization / execution / demobilization of contract and process management are required. In 'Marketplace' various kind of interaction among 'Requester/Contract Manager, Purchaser, Supplier and Transporter' are required.
My query is 'Does contract Mangement' is part of 'Contract Lifecycle Mangement' application of SRM or something else. If yes, from where I can get a list of BPML or standard business process of the same.
Second, 'Marketplace' - Does it also get covered in some application of SRM or 'Marketplace' is a different application altogether? In either case how can I get more about this application.
