In ODS reconstrct tab?

Hi all
In ODS reconstruct tab we have some so many tabs,in that i want to know some of the tabs functionality's,can anyone will let me know regarding this tabs functionalities and when it will be generated and also let me know whether am correct or wrong for some ids functionalities
Request ID------> Id of the loaded request
Change-log ID---> Id which will be generated in the change log table
Update ID------> ? (what do we mean by this update ID,need clarificatoion)
Request Number----?
Request Number in the PSA change-log---?
Request Number for delta update from ODS----?

Hi Balaji,
The changelog has a different request id than the ODS load request id. This request id acts as the PSA for any dataload that happend further from the ODS and hence you see all these request ids.
To the question why there should be so many ids. The ODS request id would vary for each load. But lets say you loaded 2 requests in the ODS but activated them together then the change log request id would be the same. However if you had activated the requests separately then the change log woul have different request id.

Hi Gurus,
I have problem when transporting in productive system an existing ODS & the update rule linked. The message is : "Error when activating update rule".
This is when i move one field from the key to a simple field of the ODS.
Before transporting requests, i deleted data in the ODS by right-click on ODS --> Request tab --> select the request --> click on delete....
I don't understand because i did the same in Qual environment and everything is OK : transport request & ODS loading...
Please help.....

Please try to check/perform the following steps:
1- You must ensure for the update rule have mapping between infosources
   and ODS/CUBEs correct, this means that also these objects need
   to be of the same version in the source system of the transport as in
   target system.
2- Please ensure all infoobjects in the cube are active.Please
   reactivate all the objects again in source system.
3- Ensure all infoobjects are found in the communication structure.
4- Please try to collect the update rule via BW transport connection
   with the grouping option "only necessary objects" and then transport
   those objects again.
Could you please reactivate the infocube and its update rules again
and then create a new transport for this infocube and transport it
again.

How to see data in a transaction ODS

Hi all,
I am populating data into my Transactional ODS through the function module RSDRI_ODSO_INSERT_RFC . But not able to see the data in it. as there is no manage option to the ODS. and by default an export datasource is created for the ODS. do i have to create one more standard ods and use this export datasource as update rules and see the data?
Please let me know how to see the data. and also and detail document on Transaction ODS?.

Data loaded through Planning Application eg. In Transactional ODS will not have manage option or request. You can view the data using following methods.
Since transactional ODS objects cannot be filled with BW data using staging (data is not supplied from the DataSources), they are not displayed in the Scheduler or in the Monitor. Transactional ODS objects can therefore not be updated in the same way as standard ODS objects.
If you switch a standard ODS object that already has update rules available to a transactional one, the update rules are set as inactive and are no longer processable.
As no change log is generated, no delta update of data stored at the end of the process is possible.
You cannot set the indicator for BEx Reporting when creating a transactional ODS object.
1.) In order to report this, you can create an InfoSet and then execute a BEx query for it.
2) You can also download the data from your transactional ODS object using the download function. You can find this function in the administration of the ODS objects, Tab Page Contents -> Active Data. Choose Execute to display the data. Using the main menu Edit -> Download, you can download the data in different formats.

TIME_OUT in ST22 while loading data

Hello all!
While I load data from ODS-object to an InfoCube, after around 18 minutes I have the first TIME_OUT in ST22. Some seconds later I have the next and then again after 18 minutes and so on. All the time while loading. The loading doesn´t stop.
I found the following statement in ST22:
The program "GP2GCXJX3UPKBEN0B528IGJFPA3 " has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime and has therefore been terminated.
But loading is still running.
This programm is the programm which is generated from the update rules which can be found in the update rules under ->Extras ->Display Activated Programm in the menu there.
I found also the information in ST22 that "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is 1000 seconds (16.66 minutes) which is the max. runtime. I think there is a second chance so the max. runtime should be 2000 seconds.
But I think "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is a parameter for dialog processes and loading over InfoPackage isn´t one as far as I know.
I load as a backround process. I´m loading from ODS and reading in update rules from 2 other ODS-objects. I read around 2 million records. Another IC which is very similar but doesn´t read from the 2nd ODS needs around 1 and a half hour to load.
Can someone please help me?

Peter,
Update rules are processed in foreground and the time out setting applies to all dialog processes. The processing is done one data packet at a time.
If the load is from ODS to InfoCube and is timing out then there is no option but to tune the update rules. Bring down the records that are being read. If your select statement is reading based on the contents of the data packet, then bring down the size of the data packet. THis can be done in the InfoPack in Scheduler --> DataS. Default Data Transfer. In the Max size field try 10000 or even 5000. Number of data pakckets will increase but processing time per packet should be lower.
Another option is to find the ODS PSA request in the PSA Tree. ODS PSA Request number is the request number right before the REQU number in the ODS requests tab. They begin with ODSR.... Find this in the PSA and update to data target from there. This processing is then done in the background and the time out setting does not apply.
If you do not see the request then turn on display generated object from the menu of the admin workbench Settings --> Display Generated Objects

Errors in monitoring:
SID error
Reason: If the corresponding master data is missing for the particular transaction data.
         1. Check for the load timing for the respective master data, if it less than an hour then make the request red and repeat the ip.
         2. If the data is loaded to PSA then you have to delete the request from target and manually push the data to from PSA.
         3. If we are required for selective update then note down the info source from header and find it in RSA1,select the one with Single as postfix.
         4. Goto data selection tab and change the range.
Tip: change the last 4 digits for from to 0000and the last 4 digit for to     9999.
        5. Repeat the ip.
         6. In case only of failure in one target goto RSA1 find the PSA, put he request no. and reschedule it.
Note: IF PSA is present never make the request red rather delete it.
Replication error
Reason: Data source replication Failed.
         1. In order to handle this error you should be known to IP, info source and source system.
         2. Goto RSA1, find the data source in the source sys tab.
         3. Right click on the data source and replicate it.
         4. Since all the transformation rules pertaining to this data source need to be reactivated so go to SE38 and execute rs_transtru_activat_all, data source and sys name.
         5. Delete the red request from the target.
Update R not supported
Reason: The corresponding initialization flag for the ip is lost.
         1. Goto header click on the ip and goto schedule tab and click initialize in the source system, whatever screen appears delete the only request present(the initialization flag).
         2. Goto RSA1, find the ip in the info source (one with the Adhoc initialize flag).
         3. Goto update tab and select Initialize delta process try going for with data transfer.
         4. Reschedule the IP.
Duplicate Record Error
Reason: Duplicate error records for the loaded master data.
         1. Goto info package via header or via RSA1.
         2. Goto processing tab and change the ip setting, selecting only PSA and ignore duplicate records and re run the ip.
         3. Do remember to change the ip settings back to the original once after the second step.
ODS activation failure
Reason: Prerequisites for ODs activation not satisfied i.e. unique key.
         1. Goto maintain variant.
         2. Check for the QM status of the requests in the target they should be green.
         3. Then click the ODS activation tab.
         4. In the screen which appears put the requests for which ODS activation failed.
         5. Activate these and keep on refreshing them until status reverts from green,
Remember to refresh these requests one at a time.
         6. If requests are red then delete them from target.
         7. Reschedule the IP.
Note: Never Try activating ODS manually if it is Y1.
Aggregate Rollup error
Reason: No aggregate found for the respective rollup.
         1. Click on the variant in which the error occurred.
         2. Goto chain tab and copy the variant and instance.
         3. Run the nestle provided program YBW05.
         4. Put in info in there and put the status as g green.
         5. Execute and refresh the status.
Lock issue
Reason: The same ip is been locked by other user or may be used by other process chain.
         1. We can see the locked entries and in the transaction SM12.
         2. Wait for the other process to get complete once the ip loads to target in that process then there is no need for running it for the process.
         3. In other case make the request red, when PSA is present then goto environment tab ->schedule->initiate update.
         4. In the box appears select update in the background.
         5. And the manually update the failed IPs by selecting manual update in the context menu.
Alfa confirming value error, Time conversion error, Chain didnt start, Delay due to long running job, Poor system performance,Heirarchy node exist in duplicate.
Reasons:
Alfa confirming error: Data format mismatch.
Time conversion error: Date, time format mismatch.
Chain didnt start: A scheduled chain didnt triggered at the prescribed timing.
-For all the above error we have to raise a ticket.
Idoc or TRFC error
Reason: An Idoc is been stuck somewhere.
         1. Reload the Master Data manually again from Info-package at RSA1.
         2. Release the Idoc.
         3. In the source system level got environment->transaction->Transaction RFC or Data ware housing level.
         4. In the Screen if the status is Transaction Recorded it means its stuck goto edit and click Execute LUW or press F6.
         5. If status is Transaction executing then it means its fine wait.
         6. Or raise ticket.
Error Due to short Dump
Reason: Error due to Short dump could be due to many reasons i.e. memory, table space, lock, error record, page allocation, failed change run.
Process terminated in the Source system.
           Reason: Sometimes we face that a load has failed due to job Termination at Source System.
      This happens due to unavailability of the source system or some connectivity problem between source and target systems.
1.      Make the request red.
2.      Delete the request from the data target.
3.      Reschedule the ip.
4.      If still the job fails raise the ticket.

In ods object manage tab in "REQUEST" tab there are options like request,data mart status of the request,PSA ID request is generated with Activation,Technical Status and so on?
what do v mean by this?

Selection TAB in ODS and Cube

Hi Friends,
I see Selection TAB in the manage TAB of ODS and Cube, what is the difference of this TAB in cube and ODS??
Is this selection criteria we give in the Data Selection TAB of Infopackage for that particular data target??

This is to be used when you have to selectively delete data from the ODS. For example lets say you've realized that the data is being loaded incorrectly into the ODS from some time (past 3 months). But not all the data is incorrect but only for a few customer numbers (as an example). In this case, you use this selective deletion and give the customer numbers which have incorrect data and delete these records. After deletion and fixing the root cause, you can reload to the ODS using the same selections in the infopackage (mark the request as full repair if you have deltas going into the ODS at the same time). Delete request in ODS, not in reconstruction tab

Sometimes when i delete a request in ODS, it can be found in reconstruction tab. Sometimes you cant.
In which scenario it can be found and in which it cant. In case you need that deleted request to reconstruct and you cant find it in reconstruct tab, what you do.

Whenever u delete a request from ODS,it might be seen in "Reconstruction" tab only when it still exists in PSA.Once the request gets deleted from PSA,then it wont be seen in
"Reconstruction" tab.

View data in ODS

BW Experts,
I have a new ODS and have loaded data in it. When I rt click on the ODS and choose manage and then if I want to see the contents of the ODS I am getting the following error.
System error: RSDRC / FORM AUTHORITY_CHECK USER NOT AUTHORIZED ZSD_O01 ZSD_O01
Message no. DBMAN100
Diagnosis
A system error with the following parameters has occurred in the data manager:
Parameter 1 = &v1&
Parameter 2 = &v2&
Parameter 3 = &v3&
Parameter 4 = &v4&
However, I can still see my data through my active data table tab.
Any thoughts on why I am getting this error when I want to see it directely through manage ods?

Hi Ashwin,
Is the ODS enabled for reporting? I came across a similar situation recently and it was because I did not have the auth for data access for that particular ODS. I could look at the data through SE16 and the active data table, but not if I did a LISTCUBE for it.
After it was added to a role and assigned, the error message was removed. (Auth object: S_RS_ODSO)

Data in the cube/ ODS?

Hi John,
In RSA1, find your cube or ODS > right click > Manage > Requests tab. Here you can see the data that has been loaded to the object.
You can also move to the contents tab and look at the contents from here, or at least click on Number of records to get an idea of the volume of data.
Or in SE16 > /BI/AYrODS00 for the ODS active data table and /BI/FYrCubefor the cube fact table.

Activating Data in ODS

Hi
I have got one ODS, for which my infopackage is desigen as do not update data if no master data exists for a characteristic.
But one of my request which is having only the entries in master data, is not getting activated in ODS.Its failing with the error "No SID found for value '00DU023R ' of characteristic 0MATERIAL". but the material 00DU023R is not there in the request at all.
Doest anyone phased this scenario before? how to activate the data in ODS?

Hi Sriram,
What SSree is trying to see.
Go to your ODS, right click manage.
In the requests tab, choose a very old date and choose refresh. Now check if you see any red requests. These requests will prevent from activating.
On the other hand, when I see your first error, I would go to transaction RSRV, and do some consistency checks on your ODS and master data.

Go to content tab, check the tables (active, new). It should be in one of the tables.

Can any body tell me data is present in active data table, new data table, change log table and as wel as with this there is a content button it is asking for the table name what is that button consists of can any body help me out

Hi Vikram,
If we right click ODS --> go to Manage --> contents Tab
You will find three Tables
1. New Table : when you load Data initially it gets into New Table and if you click on that you can see the Content
2. Active and Change Log : when you Activate data in ODS the Data moves from new to active and change log Tables and used for futher processsing to other Data Targets like Cube or ODs again.
Change Log Table records all the changes happend to the data.

View the contents of an ods without writing a query

hello everyone i am new to BW.
i did everything there was to do to create an ods...
i scheduled the data load. it was successfully done.
now when i am going to the "manage data targets" to view records in the ods i am
unable to see any records there... i am only getting the info object tabs in the output screen... where as i am getting selection options in the selection screen...
i want to know if the ods contains data or not??

in the selection screen, click on filed selection for output and click on select all and execute
other way of viewing is thru SE16 , give ur ODS name without preceding '0' but like FIGL_O01 and give F4.. find out the active table and execute for active data, if u have not activated the ODS contents check it out in update table
