(Secure) empty trash is taking a day and a half
i ran a secure trash empty operation on my 250 GB mid 2009 MBP and this has been going for a day and a half with 34,000 items to delete at this point.
is this normal? did i do something dumb like put it to sleep in the middle of this and then reopen it or is this the way secure empty is supposed to work/

i don't know but i am very good at taking out bricks and mortar trash but not so good at taking out virtual trash...
i guess the deal is that this operation is like doing a "writing zero's" level of formatting when formatting a hard disk, which can take quite awhile?

Emails for Current Day are not sync with Microsoft Exchange server
I have bought a Z1 and configured my microsoft exchange server email on it. All is working well. However it is only showing emails till yesterday. I have tried all sync settings including automatic, all, one day and all others but still it is not showing emails for current day. I have also tried all sort options but still no improvement.
The same setting are working perfectly fine on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. What is the issue and how to fix it? Please make sure i have purchased a new phone and would use the stock email app and no third party email app.
Already there is a downgrade in Z1 stock email app. It is not supporting formatted signatures and formatted outgoing emails. Which is now very common on all phones of its price and class.
What is Sony doing on its phones? i do not understand.

Rented 2 movies, watched one, second one kept downloading for 3 days and finally failed. I was charged for it, it never downloaded, cannot be found in "Available Downloads".
When you go to "Report a problem" next to the item (Great Gatsby) on the email invoice or on the online account - it takes you to online support - if you elect problems with iTune downloads the page NEVER opens... no email contact. Please helpThis is bad - I have an Apple automated response that they got my report on 12/6, 12/10 and 12/14, and I haven't heard anything from them since the 6th when I got one reply that told me to do things I tried before reporting the problem. Between the 6th and 10th I replied to their response 4 times and they ignored me, forcing me to report a problem with two more items that wont download but getting no response.
How do they get away with this kind of behavior, especially for someone with FIVE Core 2 Duo macs and thousands of dollars of of iTunes store purchases? I'm getting really ******. -

When you get an error message , it is useful to know exactly what the error message said...word for word, as this helps to determine what caused the error message.
The links provided by Airmail offer very good advice on how to maintain a healthy Thunderbird.
Compacting removes hidden 'marked as deleted' emails, thus freeing up space.

Empty the Junk and Deleted folders.

Then compact all folders:
* File > Compact Folders.
Archive all emails, both Sent and Received that are older than a couple of months.

then Archive any emails in Inbox, Sent, and any other folder thats older than a couple of months.
Archiving still keeps emails viewable via Thunderbird, but they are moved out of the regular folder, so releasing space in original files.

You have not mentioned if you have an IMAP gmail account.
If you do, have you subscribed and synchronised the 'All Mail; folder ?
'All Mail' is gmails Archive folder, so it keeps a record of every email. This means it will double the size of your Profile folder.
It is advised that you do not subscribe to see this folder.
To remove stored emails in the All Mail mbox file follow advise from this link...scroll down to the 'All Mail' section:

After three hrs of talking to 6 different advisors I've just been told that the iPad only keeps emails for 10 day. This seems crazy to me. Does anyone know how to get round this or keep emails for longer like the iPhone does?

If i try and add someone, it just lists them as pending even though they don't receive anything on their phone. Likewise, if someone tries to add me, i receive no notification. I've tried sorting out the problem on the phone but that doesn't seem possible! So basically, i have no idea how to get it to work.

I have 3 mail accounts in apple mail. One of them has had the spinning ball going for several days and I cannot receive mail in this account or delete messages etc. For some reason, I CAN send mail on Apple mail using this account, although it takes several minutes. I can receive mail in this account on my iPad and by signing into aol on safari and internet explorer on my office PC. It's obviously a glitch in Apple's Mail. I've deleted this account and reopened it in Mail on my Mac Pro with no difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this E amil account is major to my business.

sounds like a corrupt database or index
the glitch is your home folder and mail folder, esp look at syncservices

My Apple ID is locked for 90 days and can't even purchase anything
I had my personal Apple ID and I made an second Apple ID for my business. I logged into my iphone6 with that second business apple ID - this apple ID has no credit card information at all. then I tried to log into my personal previous apple ID - this account was locked for 90 days and I can't even re-download my previous purchases anymore. There was a NO NOTIFICATION before I made a second account about this situation and I really do not know what can I do next.

I have a MacBook Pro that is telling me my startup disk is full. I left for 30 days and when I came back to use it, it tells me that the disk was full out of 500 GB. I don't have that much on it and it was perfectly fine when I left. I Verified the disk through disk utility and it told me it had issues so then I repaired it and it said everything is fine. It still says the hard drive is full. How do I fix this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
