In other words is any way bring back old data itunes kept in PC(was vista- crashed- now win7)...

As stated briefly:
My PC crashed
I have all files but cannot run os vista was
to run itunes in a new win7 pc with prior data: I must connect ipad and synchr (but this says This device (IPAD 1) synchr with another Library go and delete data and replace with current lib?)
or exist other way use old data(Old hdd) of itunes in old PC to new itunes new pc??? so avoid deletion...
in other words is any way bring back old data itunes kept in PC(was vista->crashed->now win7)...?

If you want to transfer to a new computer here is the way-
1. Without connecting your iPad to your new computer -
A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent  iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
2.  Connect your iPad to your computer -
A) Start iTunes (if it does not do so automatically).
B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

  • Any way to back up data on an iPod touch (3rd party apps)?

I think I know the answer to this one but I'll throw it out there just in case. First of all, I'm apparently one of the lucky ones who has my iPod touch lock up at the apple screen several times a week during certain syncs (normally adding or removing apps) only to find it hot as a skillet and totally unresponsive sometimes hours later. At this point I'm pretty much used to having to completely rebuild the iPod touch regularly (at least it takes a little less than 6 hours now). What I'm wanting to know is: is there any way to back up ALL of the data on the iPod touch??? The data in all the built in apps is there after a restore and even some of the third party apps seem to keep their data (Shopper for instance has my shopping list). The problem is most apps just dump all their data and it's a pain to reenter everything and it's aggravating losing any scores or progress in games (yeah, I know. not really a major issue). Some examples include: Bloomberg loses all of my stock information, Units loses quick conversions, OmniFocus looses all settings (db is "in the cloud" so data can be retrieved) Chopper loses all scores and progress, Motion X Poker loses all scores and progress, all my weather apps lose the cities I normally load into them... I'm sure there are others but these are some of my most used and thus most missed after every restore.
Every backup completes and I never have any errors. It's just clear that "backup" really means partial backup in this case and I can't find any way to even do anything about it manually. Is this something the application programmers have control over? Or is this just something that I'll have to wait for another update to the software? On a related note is there any consistent way to lessen the crashes? I've searched quite a bit and it seems like it's fairly random. I've relegated myself to only adding and deleting apps through iTunes but that still leaves me open to crashes. Not to mention it completely eliminates the browsing and spur of the moment shopping on the iPod touch. As for a potential hardware problem, my 16GB before this with the same apps loaded did the exact same thing so I don't think it's the hardware.
Thanks for any help or advice. All in all I do love this thing I just wish it would become more stable. After all I thought that was the reason for the close control Apple was keeping over developers.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that before and I'll have to look into it a little more. The one thing that has me wondering is the part where they state that the iPod touch is now supported "for iPod to computer transfers only". I would think that given the nature of the product there would have to be some way to transfer the data back to the iPod... I might have a look at the demo version after work here. I guess the obvious question is; have you used this with an iPod touch and had success?
Edit: Just noticed this seems to be a Windows product only so it won't actually help me. Thanks though.

  • PHP, Any way revert back to IPv4 ? my code expects this, but its now IPv6 !

    Hi,
I've upgraded to snow leopard server, and copied all PHP code over.
I've discovered that PHP is now returning $REMOTE_ADDR in IPv6 format, but all my code is expecting the usual IPv4 format.
Is there any way to get around this? I've seen that I could re-compile PHP and disable IPv6, but this is way beyond my capabilities, and seems far too complicated.
Are there any other options ? or worse case, how do I convert IPv6 format to IPv4 in PHP.
    Thanks for any help !!!!
    Keith

    HI,
you can get back the changes done in an activity as a local copy in the following way:
go to CBS web UI, click on compartments link'
under that search for your DC, and click on view all link.
you find all the activities under that DC. copy the integration time .
    switch to DTR perspective,
righ tclick on the DC, choose Advanced sync, sync to date, give the integration time you got from CBS and click on ok.
    Regards,
    Satya.

  • Any way to back up FAT formatted external hard drive to Time Machine?

I'm a photographer, and right now my library of photos is a complete mess. I have about 20 GB of photos on one external hard drive and about 30 GB on my Mac's built in hard drive. I recently purchased a new external hard drive to use with Time Machine. I was under the impression that I could back up everything on my first external hard drive to my new external hard drive. Little did I know, because my first external hard drive is FAT formatted, I cannot back it up to the Time Machine hard drive.
So my main question is this: is there any way to back up this FAT hard drive to my Time Machine hard drive? If I can't use Time Machine, do you have any other recommendations for backing up my entire photo library?
    Thank you for your help!

A TM backup drive should be used just for TM backups. Buy another drive to use for your photo library. You can then use other backup utilities to keep it current such as:

  • I have an old MacBook (Mac OSX 10.5.8) with iPhoto '08.  Is there any way to back up not only the photos, but the way I have organized them into events and labeled them?

I have an old MacBook (Mac OSX 10.5.8) with iPhoto '08.  Is there any way to back up not only the photos, but the way I have organized them into events and labeled them?

    Yes. Back up the Library.
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

If you aren't going to live that long maybe you should give up with computers and start enjoying the few remaining hours.

Your own movies are backed up in the camera roll wich is backed up to iCloud. You should be able to restore the movies if something were to happen to them if you use iCloud for your backups. You would have to purchase more storage from iCloud, but the videos will be backed up
You get 5GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization

  • Is there any way to access my data in case i didnt back up my data on icloud and also erased the data from my iphone?

I accidentally erased all my data from my iphone and plus i also forgot to take the back up of the same, so i want to ask is there any way to get my data back?

There might be an outside chance of getting the data back from your iPhone, if it hasn't been overwritten. There are some programs you can run on your computer to scavenge files from your iPhone, even though they have been deleted. You'll need to search on the Internet to find those programs, and then you'll have to buy one of them. And, it's always a "buyer beware" situation when you do that, so research carefully.
Here's one search to start with ...

  • Had to crash my computer. Lost my recovery key. Have my iphone paired with previous install. is there any way to get the data back?

In order to upgrade my computer from Windows xp to Windows 7, I lost access to firefox without thinking to generate a recovery key. Is there any way to get my data back?

If the only thing you have paired to the account is an iPhone the answer is that unfortunately no. The iPhone client (Firefox Home) is just a "consumer" of the Sync data and can't do much.
My best advice is to keep the iPhone synced to have access to bookmarks and manually transfer them to your new profile.
Sorry to be the carrier of the bad news.

  • Auto-Save did not work... Any way to back up my project?

    Hello,
I started a project this morning, a set of interviews shot on Canon 5DII. The footage is about 4 hours. One of the settings was to auto-save every 20min to maximum 5 versions. After about 14 hours of work Premiere just crashed. I got the gray screen and the message to hold down the power button of my mac. After restart I opened the project and the time-line looks exactly how I left it at the lunch brake. Since than I saw several times the auto-save performed, definitely more than 5.
Anybody experiencing same problem? Any way to back up my project? I'm desperate, tomorrow afternoon the interviews must be online on several sites.
    Thank you.

That said...I have never heard  of PPRo Auto saves  .".saving  projects all the same and to old to be used"
    Neither have I.
I cannot find the thread I recall fairly recently regarding how auto-save is operating.  But I believe it was demonstrated that auto-save will save even if edits have not been made.  So, for example, with preferences of saves every 5 minutes to a max of 5 could produce a bunch of saves all the same.  (They wou ld not be "too old," however.
Hunt recently linked to an article (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/477920?tstart=60) he put in the PE forum that includes this at the end:
    * It has come to my attention that as of PrPro CS3, things have changed with Auto-Save. One does not need to do an initial Save to start Auto-Save, but if left Open, though no editing is being done, the Auto-Save will keep on overwriting the files at the set interval, say every 5 mins.. What this means is that if you leave a Project Open for 25 mins., have the number of Auto-Saves at the default of 5 and the default of every 5 mins., you will have 5 copies of the same Project file. I do not know what Adobe was thinking here, as Auto-Save should not be active, if no editing is being done. I often have a Project Open, but am working in PS, AI, or Encore, so there is no editing being done in PrPro, but there soon will be. I do not want all previous Auto-Saves being overwritten with the same exact file. With PrPro CS3 or higher, I strongly recommend that one does a lot more Save_As and Save_As_a_Copy, than in previous editions, or they might be in for a rude surprise, if they went to lunch, or just left the Project Open for a half-hour.
See that - and the moral of the story?  Don't EVER go to lunch before your project is finished!

  • HI I WAS WONDERING IF THE NEW GARAGEBAND WOULD ERASE OR REPLACE MY CURRENT GARAGEBAND SOFTWARE AD LOOPS, OR IS IT AN ADD ON TO MY CURRENT PLATFORM? IN OTHER WORDS WILL ANY THING CHANE WITH MY CURRENT GRAGEBAND SOFTWARE?  THANKS - WP

HI I WAS WONDERING IF THE NEW GARAGEBAND WOULD ERASE OR REPLACE MY CURRENT GARAGEBAND SOFTWARE, INVENTORY AND LOOPS, OR IS IT AN ADD ON TO MY CURRENT PLATFORM? IN OTHER WORDS WILL ANY THING CHANE WITH MY CURRENT GRAGEBAND SOFTWARE IF I MAKE THI UPDATE?  THANKS - WP

What is your current GarageBand version?
Your profile signature says "OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)", but the newest GarageBand, version 10.0.2, requires Mavericks.  Are you planning on upgrading from Mt. Lion to Mavericks?
The newest GarageBand 10.0.2 is very different from the earlier GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5.
Some features, like podcasts, are missing. The GUI layout is more like Logic than GarageBand, the effects can no longer be combined freely, but you have to use the predefined patches. But this version adds nice new features like Drummers or Arpeggiators. and not all of your audio units may be compatible.
If you upgrade to GarageBand 10.0, the new version can open your older projects, no problem. But once opened in GB 10.0, they will no longer work in GB '11.
The installer will not overwrite GB '11, but move it to a subfolder in Applications, and you can use both versions cuncurrently. They do not interfere and you can use GB '11 as before.

  • Is there any way to retrive the data from my USB Key

    Hello,
I have a usb key I have been using on a Win 7 desktop computer and a Mac Book Air to put in Data on a spread sheet.
I interchange to put in the data between the computer and my MBA without any problem.
I am today not able to open the usb memory key in either-Computer or the MAC Book Air.
Does that mean I have a coruppted USB memory key and the data lost for ever?
I have just put the USB memory key in my computer and it says File System CDFS.
I put it in MAC Book Air and it would not open either!!
Is there any way to access my data. I have no back up...

If the USB drive won't mount on either computer, it's probable that the drive has failed, in which case it's unlikely that you can recover any data from it. You can do a web search for something like "flash drive file recovery" and you'll find a number of utilities that purport to do file recovery, but all the utilities I'm familiar with require that the drive at least be mountable. There may be services that could attempt recovery, but they tend to be expensive.
The moral of the story is: never have only a single copy of a critical document, and if you must, never, never have your single copy only on a flash drive (or floppy, for those "old timers" who still use floppies).
    Regards.

My computer was formatted but I need to access my old content on my itunes backups. Is there any way I can acquire these iTunes backup files ever again?
I tried recovery software but had no luck!

You reformatted the drive in your computer. The backup files you want to access were overwritten when you re-formatted the drive. They are gone. There may be data recovery services that can get them back. Search google if you want. This has absolutely nothing to do with using an iPhone at this point. You deleted files on your computer...

  • Iphone 3GS was dropped and will not turn on or respond to USB connection.  Is there any way to extract the data off when it is not responding so that I can restore to my new phone?

The phone is physically intact, but you can see the LCD is cracked behond the glass. I have tried plugging it in, tried putting it on the charger, and resetting it using the off and home buttons, bit response. I don't need the phone to work, but I do need to be bale to back it up in order to restore to the new phone.  Is there any way to extract the data or back up the hard drive without repairing the phone?  Just curious what my options are before I spend cash trying to fix the phone and find out there was another way to get the data.  Any thoughts here or should a good repair shop being able to create a backup somehow?

Im not going to be much help because I don't know of anything else to besides take it somewhere that fixes electronics and see if they can get it off some how maybe if you take it to an apple store they can do something to get your information.
