In photos on my ipad when I tap edit there is no "-" or delete button or option?

Need help deleting albums and photos in "photos", edit option doesn't give me this option?

You delete them the same way hyou put them there. The sync process.
Deselect them in itunes and sync.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

If you are doing this from your phone (as you mention) then you can use the new iPhoto Photo Journal feature to do this.
Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might consider DropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage.

Uhhhhh... Thank GOD... Got all of my files.
Spent some time on the phone with Apple Care... who was great to deal with but actually... not as helpful as I was hoping. It was suggested that I try DiskWarrior 4 to try to recover the files. $108 later, I had no files.
More calls with Apple Care and they were pretty sure that everything was gone since once the External drive was installed, like a moron, I let TimeMachine go ahead and back up my new MacBook... so it overwrote who knows how many gig that was my entire MacBook.
I wasn't giving up so I called Maxtor, the manufacturer of the external drive itself. They suggested file recovery software from I365... which is also a Seagate company (the makers of the drive). The suggested I simply use their demo because the demo version would find the files. If it found them, I could buy the software to restore them.
It found them! Another $129 after and I was able to restore all of them back to my old PC laptop.
NOW, I just need to figure out how to get the 50gig of HD video files off of my old laptop now and into my Mac and IMovie so I can actually make some DVDs out of them!
I get that Macs and PCs are different formats but I think it is ridiculous that formatting still means basically just wiping out or at least treating massive lots of old data as if it isn't there. There's gotta be a better way to do that.

An IMAP configuration will NOT allow one to create mailboxes on one's iPad - from personal experience - one requires a POP account. Briefly, the Apple Mail app for iOS 6 (iPad, iPhone) has no capability to add mailboxes to the original ones that are included as part of the app - if (and only if) the email account is configured as IMAP. So... Keniff is correct: One must go to one's laptop/desktop, open a browser, and add the mailboxes desired for your IMAP account. Unfortunately, one seems to have little choice for the account configuration. Apple's iOS does the configuration quite automatically with one's account provider. For example, my Charter mail is IMAP while my Gmail account is POP. The latter allows edit/add for new or existing mailboxes on my iPad 2.

Do you mean - goto the device in iPhoto's Import panel on your Mac, or in Photos on your iPad?
If iPhoto on your Mac is showing 3400 photos, these photos are in the Camera Roll on your iPad and you can select them in Photos on your iPad and delete them.

Deleted photos and videos are kept in the Recently Deleted album on iPad, with a badge showing the remaining days until the item is permanently removed from iPad. To delete the photo or video permanently before the days expire, tap the item, tap Delete, then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video. If you use iCloud Photo Library beta, deleted photos and videos are permanently removed from all iOS 8.1 devices that use iCloud Photo Library beta with the same Apple ID.

Photos copying to iPad when syncing, how to stop.

When syncing to my PC, there are pics on my PC, that I do not want copied to my iPad . How do I stop this from happening? Also, I don't want photos from my iPad copied to my PC. Please help.

Before clicking on
Sync or apply check the Photos tab in the right window of iTunes. You most likely have albums selected there or you have the checkbox to sync all photos selected. Deselect the one that is on. Then click on Apply or Sync.
Photos on your iPad will not be copied to your PC unless you want them to. Your PC will recognize the iPad as a camera and give you the option of backing up photos in the camera roll on the iPad to the PC. If your camera or image capture application runs when you connect your iPad you can quit that app or check its preferences to turn off the automatic startup.

If the delete tab is red after you tap the edit button, then you have to select the pictures that you want to delete by tapping on them. A blue check mark will appear in the lower right corner of the photo indicating that it has been selected. The Delete button should then turn bright red after you make your selections. Tap the delete button and that should remove the photos. This will work for photos in the camera roll or the photo stream.
Photos that you synced to your iPad must be removed by "unsyncing" them using iTunes on your computer. Deselect the albums in the photos tab of iTunes and follow that with a sync to remove them.

If you want to remove them all, connect your iPad to your computer via iTunes. Once your iPad is recognized on the left side, click on the device once to open it in iTunes. Click on Photos and uncheck Sycn All Photos and click apply and they will be removed.

Looks like Lightroom doesn't like your display profile.
Try removing the profile (don't know how to do it on a Mac) to leave your display uncalibrated. Are the colors still different in Lightroom and Photoshop?
