In place display of Portal content(not URL!)

All,
Created content area. create folder and
added a couple of docs and a few text items to folder. exposed folder as portlet. I don't
want Portal to take me in the content area.
How can I see the content (inplace display)
without the Portal dropping me into the
content area ? When I was on 3.0.7, I was told that 3.0.8 would have it. Should we wait
for the next version ?
Thanks

Are you using 3.0.8?
With 3.0.8, subfolder links will render within the portlet. All other links will take you to the target document or content area.
We're looking at different navigation models for future releases.

    hi gurus,
we are using crm5.0+ep7.0, we have loaded the portal content (business packages) for crm and crm high tech. the patch level is: 13 level 0 (BBPCRM is 6).
I use portal role channel manager. when we want to display some crm content in portal which runs by explorer 7.0, sap will popup another window and turn into blank with error. the ie error says: object doesn't support this property or method. and the url:http://crmdev.iecsh.com:8000/sap(ZT1PQnhTbWh6Ym01Y0R3M0JqKnQ2R1VRLS10MDlLNjhsU1Z6XzdLTmUqc2RFUjFnLS0=)/bc/bsp/sap/crm_bsp_frame/mainDH.do
while the original window is just continuing displaying the signal: loading.
    with ie 6.0, it's ok.
can anyone help me out? thank you very mcuh.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 as mentioned in SAP Note 981710 this version is not supported by any current NetWeaver Portal / WebAS / ITS / BSP / BEX / CRM Web Application Component......
SAP Strongly recommend to our customers to block this update until this version
This version (IE 7.0) "should be" supported as of SPS19 (NW '04) or SPS10(NW 2004s) and there exist several errors found in the operation on previous releases.
be supported or the SPS be released (this is mentioned on the note), please note that once the system has performed the update there is not possible to go back to IE 6.0

  • SAPUI5 Application doesn't display in Portal Content Area

    Hallo Guys
We are developing a SAPUI5 application that needs to be displayed inside the portal.
The problem is that the SAPUI5 app doesn't display in in the content area, no erors, just a blank page, you have to set the iview to open in a seperate headerless window, then it works. But it needs to work in the content area.
Our findings: a possible cause is that the IE mode when inside the Portal content area is IE5 Quirks, and when it displays in a new window, the mode changes to a more recent and acceptable mode for SAPUI5, IE9.
Is there any solution to this? We get the same result with both URL iView and using the SAPUI5 iView in content provided by SAP. We are on NW 7.4
    Regards
    Antonette

    Hi Antonette,
As Lawrence explained the reason is indeed that quirks and standards mode can't run together on the same page (not only in portal but it's a limitation by MS).
Since your framework page is in IE5 quirks mode the UI5 application doesn't run in the content area, you can run it by selecting in the iView properties "Launch in a new headerless window (strandards)", that will open the UI5 application in a new window and will work.
If you wish to run UI5 applications in the content area you can get latest SP of 7.4 and there you will have a new framework page: standards AFP, basically an AFP framework page that works in standards mode.
In that framework page you can run UI5 applications in the content area, however trying to run old applications (HTMLB, not WD) may fail, for WD you have a paramater you need to pass called sap-ie, passing it with the value of "Edge" will make sure WD applications run in standards mode as well.
When running the AFP in standards mode you will need to open your HTMLB and other old applications in a new headerless window or new window so you can see the content.
    Hope this helped,
    BR,
    Saar

  • Portal Search Not Working - Only Returns Portal Content, Not TREX Indexes

I have configured two indexes using the portal.  One is for documents that reside on the portal, and the other one is for a website that we have configured in TREX using Cruiser.  The TREX Admin console shows that the website information has been indexed.  However, when I search on a word in Portal, only the portal contents are displayed.  Is there a different search field for looking up TREX/indexed files?  I'm using the search field that's on the front page of the portal.  Also, both indexes belong to the same index group.  I did use the serach feature built-in to TREX Admin to verify that there were documents stored in the index.

    Please check Below Link

Is your laptop's Internet explorer version is IE 7.0? If thats the case then it might be the issue. Portal doesnt work well with IE 7.0 and you get some problems like these a lot of times. You can correct this to include IE 7.0 also but that you have to configure via the Visual Admin. For now to confirm this - just try checking IE version - and if its 7.0 try installing IE 6.0 to see whether you are still getting the error.
You can see note number 991449 to find out how you can include IE 7.0 also to your portal setting to eradicate this error. Well - if at all thats the cause. Please verify that before doing anything.

  • Portal Content not displayed correctly when downloaded as mht file

    Hi,
When I find interesting articles on SDN (and other Web Sides, too) I normally download them in MHT format (Web Archive) to be able to read them offline.
Technically, the download of SDN articles via MHT format works without any problems but when opening them I get a blank article page (the header and banner is available)
Is there something wrong with my IE8 settings (I had the same issue also with older IE versions) or is this an issue caused by the format used by SDN?
    Thanks,
    Klaus

    Hello TS,
As you mentioned you have created Custom Woekset.
Have you assigned Page to your custom Workset?
can you double check and Make sure that your Page contains iView.
Are you able to Preview the page? t is your content loading in the page as expected.
If yes open the your Custom WS Trace your page and then trace your iView check PCD locations. Check  Is it going correct your iView and pages.

  • Portal content not available

we are implementing Performance Management using ECC 6.0 EnhP4 and Portal 7 EnhP1. We are using the standard ESS MSS business package. We need to show the Appraisal Documents iView in the Portal.
as per SAP best practice, we created a delta copy of standard ABAP WebDynpro page "Appraisal Documents" and added it to a custom workset "Talent Management" which is added to our custom ESS role. See Word document attached for details.
the structure we have now in PCD is
    +PCD
    - custom role
    - custom workset
    - delta copy of standard ABAP WD page "Appraisal Documents"
when user logs in to the Portal and clicks on tab "Talent Management" we expected the page "Appraisal Documents" to be displayed, instead we get the error "no content available".

  • Portal content not transporting.  Yellow triangle with exclamation shows.

    Hi,
I cannot move 2 new folders and 10 iViews from my DEV portal to my QC portal.  When I try, the package shows up in QC, but when I look at the package, a yellow triangle with a exclamation point inside shows to the immediate left of the items to move.  And if I select any one of the objects to get properties, I get the errror "Failed to get Property Editor! null".  Further, I cannot create the folders manually on QC, because it get an error

One of the iViews is built from a custom PAR.  When I first attempted to import this package, the PAR did not exist.  I have since loaded the PAR.
It seems that the folders exist "somewhere" in the portal, but I cannot see them in the "content admin" mode.
What can I do to resolve this?
    Thank you for any help!
    Kevin

This has been solved.  I noticed that other portal developers could see the content without error.  As it turns, what I had to do was refresh cache on the server, and clear my browser cache.  Once I did this, everything appeared as normal.
    Thanks for the help.
