In process inspection related with PRT maintenance

Hello SAP QM gurus,
I have one issue of In process inspection related with maintenance of PRT. The detail is as follows.
I have an inspection plan for SFG (Semi Finished Goods) with 15 parameters to check. For production of this SFG material we are using a Production Resource Tool (PRT). After 2000 pieces of SFG production the PRT is to be taken out for maintenance. I have maintenance plan for this PRT and system gives me maintenance order after every 2000 pieces of SFG production.
My client wants to check the 15 parameters of SFG just before and after of PRT maintenance. After the PRT maintenance and when the production is OK then for every next lot client wants to check only 3 critical parameters and to skip remaining 12 parameters. How to map this scenario?
Will the DMR (Dynamic Modification Rule) be effective in this case, or else any workaround ?
Please guide.
Sanjay

Dear QM gurus,
One correction in my thread,
15 parameters to check SFG is in routing of SFG and not the inspection plan.
Please guide me.

  • QM- In-process inspection Setup

    Hi all,
    My requirement is :
    - to setup inprocess inspection in the final operation in routing,
    - the operation and order can only be confirmed if the usage decision of inspection is favorable.
    - want Auto GR to happen after favorable usage decision and subsequent operation& order confirmation.
    I have done the following:
    - attached an in process inspection type with a required UD set and made it active
-created an MIC and assigned in routing
-assigned a control key that allows inspection and autoGR to the final operation in routing.
The following happens when i test my setup
    - When i release the order an inspection lot is created.
BUT, the problem i face is that when i confirm the final operation the Auto GR happens and the FG is posted to unrestricted stock even though the usage decision is not entered for the inspection lot. What i want is that on confirming the order the FG should be posted in Quality stock and once i enter the favorable usage decision it should automatically get posted to unrestricted use.
Could you please tell me what i am missing here?
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    Hi!,
Actually inprocess inspection doesn't involve any inventory movement. Means you can't control any goods movement with inspection type "03".  Only inspection types 01, 04 and 08 involves control on goods movements. For your requirement you need to opt for goods receipt inspection i.e. inspection type "04". For this you need to assign an inspection setup in material master with insp type "04", create an inspection plan for the produced material. Now when you make an order and confirm some quantity then system will create an inspection lot and till you give UD to that the confirmed quantity will remain in quality stock.
I hope this will solve your problem. In case of further queries please revert back.

  • HT201342 I have not been able to upgrade to a new computer. So I am running an old OS 10.5.8 in a Powerbook Pro 15¨. I recently have had some e-mail problems. I would like to know if this is related with all transitional process from @mac to @icloud.

I have just starting having problems with my @mac.com account because I still have an old computer. Un fortunatelly so many years this is my main account and no option to send e-mail are possible.
Is this related with the transitional process from moving to an @icloud.com account?

First of all, your profile says you are using OSX 10.5.8 which is incompatible wth all features of icloud, although users have been able to use icloud's email with older versions.  With the transition to @icloud.com accounts, it's difficult to say what the effect is regarding older versions of OSX.  I've read posts by others who are still using these versions and have now been having problems with emails.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account, any version of OSX (or Windows) with an Imap compatible mail client can use it.

  • Process Order Close with Inspection Lots

At month end we need to close process orders that have not had their usage decison made, generally the inprocess inspection UD.  Is there any way to close these POs without having to enter a usage decision?

Your suggested solution to being able to flag the inprocess inspection lot as being completed without making a UD, to allow the process order to be closed, sounded very, very interesting, but we are not familiar with the file/record/configuration parameter you noted.  Is there any way that you might be able to clarify your answer, so that we can have our technical team figure out how to implement that change?
Thank you very much.....this has had us stymied since we went live.

    how can we do it?

    Hello,
This is the Oracle NoSQL Database forum. You asked about Oracle Database so you may want to try that forum instead of this one. I suggest that you ask about "In-Database Map/Reduce".

  • Want to do mass processing for inspection lots with status SPRQ

    Hello,
My company using early lot creation for 04 inspection type. We have thousands of inspection lots with status "UD   ICCO SPRQ PRII PRSI STUP". Now due to SPRQ status, system is not closing process orders associated with thousands of inspection lots.
Is there any transaction where I can do mass processing of inspection lots to change the status "SPCO" from "SPRQ"?
    Thanks
    Bhavesh

    Dear Bhavesh
You may have to modify the standard program to do so. Modify this program RQEVAI30.
    This can help you

  • Sample management with in-process inspection

i need to know why must we assign inspection points when we use sample management in an in-process inspection ?

    Hi,
[Kindly refer the link herewith|Inspection point] wherein the importance of inspection point is mentioned.
In simple words, inspection point determines what system should do to proceed the inspection.
I mean if you will enter 100 (STD SAP), system will plan the inspection, UD , Quality score procedure etc etc according to the freely defined inspection points.
Now say if you enter 200 (STD SAP) there, then system will go in the direction of Samples, means will generate Physical Sample (Numbers), Samples size, will fetch these data to UD and stock posting screen also, then calculate the Quality score, etc etc.
If you will enter it time based inspection point then system will drive the entire inspection lot accordingly.
Now these is the straight and written explanation to your answer.
Means If there is inspection point as 200--->there will be need  of SDP, Sampling procedure, etc
But in same manner it is applicable in reverse order also, i.e. If you wanna go with SDP,Sampling procedure (SAMPLE Mgmt) then, inspection point there must be maintained accordingly.

  • COA's with In-process Inspection & w/o Batch Management

    Hi Folks,
We are doing in-process inspection in our system, for production. Also, we donot use batch management. Yet, we've COA's that need to be generated on our finished products before their dispatch to the customers.
I've previously used COA's in a Batch Managed & GR Inspection (type 04) scenario. Not sure if COA's can be generated for my scenario (in-process inspection & no batch mgmt). Would like to take suggestions from you experts on how do I approach this.
    Thanks
    Anand

I believe you should be able to generate COA's using the 03 inspection results, but... I've never tested it or tried to do it.  But in using 03's there are some issues that you'd have to check on and test out.
I don't think you'll be able to have the same test in the inspection lot more then once.  This can happen if you run the same test at different operations of the process.  Such as water content which might be tested several times during production. You might also have some issues if you use inspection points.  I think it will use the last test result regardless of inspection points.  But I'm not 100% sure on that.
You will also to need to make sure there are UD's on the inspection lot.  You'll probably want to run the Auto UD for production lots and have it close all lots where the order has a TECO status.
Other then those cautions, it should work similarly to reporting results from an 04 inspection lot.

  • Calibration process : inspection lot not created

    Hello,
When creating a maintenance order (PM05) , i can not get the inspection lot created .
There has been some thread about this process , i believe i followed the instructions :
    -equipment category is production ressource/tool
    -master inspection characteristics created (released)
    -sampling procedure created for PM
-equipment task list created with inspection point at header level , with control key including inspection characteristic , with master inspection characteristic , with sampling procedure
-configuration for inspection type and order type is done
then when creating the order manually (or via a maintenance plan) : the order is created and released but with no inspection lot assigned...
does anyone have an idea where the error might come from?
    Thanks again,
    Pete

    Hi Pete
Weather this is correct or not for your scenario but please check the below spro setting.
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service --> Maintenance and Service Processing --> Functions and Settings for Order Types --> Assign Inspection Types to Maintenance/Service Order Types
    click on the symbol
in Change view " Assign Inspection Types to Maintenance/Service Order Types" :Overview screen assign inspection type against plant and order type combination. for PM 14 is inspection type.
    please confirm.

  • QM In-Process Inspection for Batch Managed Material

    Hi,
I have a issue related to UD of In-Process inspection for batch managed material. The production process is discrete manufacting for a cold rolling mill. A production order can have mutiple coils as per the production amount. To track the individual coil , batch management has ben activated. We have both in-process as well as inspection after production here.
For inspection after production we are fine as we are doing partial confirmation after every coil and have separate inspection lot having different batch number.
But for in-process I can have only one inspection lot for the production order (created on release of the production order). I can do the result recording but while trying to do UD u2013 it is asking for a batch number as the material is batch managed. W/o entering the batch number system is not allowing me to do the UD.
Is there any solution/work around of this problem.
    -Regards
    ashim

    Hi Ashim,
you raised a very good question? i am helpless here to execute same scenario,
but i disussed with my QM guy here, he said, once the material is batch managed then it has to ahve batch in UD.
so i discussed ur case, which is very much valid for heavy ind like cement and all,
so what i suggest, u create a dummy batch in the UD for in process (no inventory posting)
and at confimation give ur usual batch (if system propose the dummy batch which u give in the UD for inprocess, try to change there--- i hope it should allow)
i would really like to here answer from u for this.
try to do as suggested, and let me know the results.

  • Repetitive mfg - In-process inspection

    Hi,
Can we do in-process inspection in repetitve mfg.
    Regards,
    Sravan Kumar

    Dear,
Inspection Type 13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
In the material master record for the finished product, you must set the indicator for quality inspection in the Quality Management view. Moreover, in the QM inspection data, you must also select and activate an inspection type with the origin 13 (repetitive manufacturing).

  • Creation of Recurring Inspection Lots with Serial numbers

    Hello,
We have the following scenario at our client :
<i>MIGO_GR</i> is used to create GR for materials with Serial number requirement. The serial numbers can be generated automatically or manually entered on the screen. At this point of time, the Shelf Life expiry date & Next Inspection date are calculated based upon the Production date. The Batch gets created with Next Inspection date, Inspection Lots are created and the Serial numbers are assigned by the system. The stock moves into QI.
The stock is moved from Quality restricted to Unrestricted stock via <i>QA11</i>. The serial numbers are handled by the system or can be managed on screen.
Transaction <i>QA07</i> (Deadline Monitoring of Batches) is used to create Recurring Inspection. QA07 gives error message IO304 that "<b>Only 0 serial numbers entered instead of 1</b>". The problem is that system doesn't pick up the corresponding serial numbers.
OSS # <u>497845</u> mentions that Transaction QA07 can not handle serial number. The serial numbers are very critical to the business process.
Has anyone come across this situation before ? Please suggest solution or workaround. I tried using BAdI "<b>INSPECTIONLOT_UPDATE</b>" & was able to create Inspection Lots with serial number assignment, also manipulated Batch to change the Next Inspection date. The problem is Material Movement (322) Document does NOT get created.
Also tried implementing BAdI as per OSS # <u>608830</u> but doesn't give desired results.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Homiar Kalwachwala.

    Hello all,
Just wanted to bring this on top to be noticed.
    Would appreciate any help, suggestions...

  • In-process inspection in repetitive manufacturing

    Hi,
My client handles assembling of electronic products.  product passes through different set of operations where in it proceeds to the next operation only when the prior operation is approved in terms of quality.
We are trying to go with repetitve mfg but we are unable to understand in-process inspection operation wise.  Pls advise is this feasible or we only need to go with discrete mfg with production orders.

    Dear,
    1. Setting up inprocess inspection
for inprocess REM you have to maintained inspection type 13 in material master. and select task list. for that you have to maintained inspection point in your rate routing for ex for partial lot quantity based.
    2. GR Inspection from production
then you go for result recording for inspection point and do the reporting point backflushed through result recording of every inspection point.
    3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
for that you have to create inspection lot in t code MFPR for your production version and for that inspection lot you have do above work.

  • In Process Inspection for Repetitive Manufacturing

    Hi All,
I'm trying to perform in-process inspection for repetitive manufacturing. I have a semi finished material which has the inspection type 13 activated in the material master. Rate routing for it has also been created. Characteristics have been assigned to its operation and the routing is attached to a production version. When I o to MFPR to create a lot, I specify the material, plant and production version with QM active (tried the other 2 options as well) but when I execute, nothing shows up in the list. When I click on create inspection lot, it says, "either select versions or place cursor on versions now" but there's nothing in the list?
    Regards,
    Bilal

    Hi,
Please check whether the repetitive manufacturing check box and REM profile is defined in the MRP4 of material master.
Please define that and try to run the transaction MFPR.
    It should solve your problem

  • Conflicting inspection types with 101 for Purch Order and 101 for Proc Ordr

We have a material that can be purchased or produced in-house.  When we purchase the material, we want to inspect it with a specific inspection plan for purchased material.  When we produce the material with a 101 on the process order, we inspect but we typically create the inspection lot when the process order is created and NOT with the 101 GR movement. The process order creation  inspection is different from the one we want on the purchase order receipt. We also sometimes have a need to create an inspection lot at the time of a GR on the process order for this material and we have created a 901 movement type (a copy of the 101) for this.  However, in IMG customizing we can not update the inspection origin assigned to the movement type.  When we try to post a GR to the process order using the 901 movement we get the inspection lot linked to the inspection type for the 101 of the purchase order receipt.  I would like to resolve this problem with IMG customization as opposed to using a user EXIT.

Thank you for your responses.  I finally had time to test these.
The inspection as the last step in the master recipe is not an option for our process.
Activating the 04 inspection type on the material master QM view, resulted in the 101 for the process order to post into QI and to create an inspection lot.  I want the 101 for the process order to post to unrestricted and NOT create the inspection lot.  I want the 901 (a clone of the 101) to post into QI and to CREATE the inspection lot.  I have changed the configuration in OMJJ to deactivate QM for all 101's with all blanks in special stock and 'F' in Movement Indicator.  The 901 movemens have QM active.  Any other ideas or settings that I need to check/change?
