Can anyone describe how to/many/which parameter can be passed to Application Server 10g Report Server in-process server.

Actually, we are using report server installed by RWSERVER install command on a stand alone Application Server. Also note we are using Oracle Forms 9i. We call our reports from Oracle Forms and passing parameter of the reports and the report are displayed on client machine by WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT.
Here we specify which report server to use(hard coded), but if we are using load balance we don't know where to print.
In this case how do we pass parameter to in_process report server...???

We need to gather data for sizing inputs.For Adaptive processing server , we can find same by going in CMC> Server > APS > Properties & check value for the parameter -Xmx . Could you please tell how to find the max heap memory allocated for a Web Intelligence processing server in BO 4.0 as for Webi server this parameter is not maintained. ?

Hi Abhinav,
The maximum threshold is a value which may reach on peak usage and Webi processing server cannot occupy memory beyond this value at any time.
In your situation 9 Webi Processing servers with 16 GB of RAM on server is not recommended. This is because consider situation with total 16 GB of host RAM.
4 GB should left for OS
Tomcat will need minimum 2 GB for 200 users
So you are left with 10 GB RAM for all BO services
Now 9 Webi Processing servers with 6 GB of Threshhost will not work here
For this configuration you can have 2 Webi Processing servers with default threshold should be running on single host.

I am getting "An error occurred while creating a subprocess in the processing server. [RCIRAS0603]" error while opening the previous instances of the crystal report in BOCMC.
I am trying to run or schedule the report but it is always going to "PENDING STATUS".
(Previously it was resolved after restarting the server. Error : problem in ProcessingServer)
Could you please suggest.

I have developed a Crystal Report using CR 2008 with SAP BW as the datasource. The report is executing fine in CR 2008, but when saved to the BOE, in Infoview it is throwing the following error:
An error occurred while creating a subprocess in the processing server. [RCIRAS0603]
Did anyone face similar issue? Is there any resolution for the same.?
I have deleted the report from enterprise and saved it back, still facing this problem.

Crystal Reports processing (CR Page) server is not operational.
There could be many reasons for this.
CR processing server traces will need to be enabled and analysed by support.
You should also be on the latest patch release.
Sometimes following steps help :
1) Stop all of the XI 3.1 processes using the ./stopservers command (ensure they are all down before proceeding)
2) Once all processes are stopped ensure the serverpids directory is empty
<install dir>/bobje/serverpids/
If any files are within the 'serverpids' folder, remove them.
3) Go to bobje/tmp
Remove any MW, .MW, mw, .mw and regss files and/or directories
4) Go to /tmp
Remove any MW, .MW, mw, .mw, and regss files and/or directories
5) start servers back up.
If this doesn't help - you'll need to open a Support Incident

Loaded an AVI-from the desktop, as that is where my project file and scratch disk go, about 7.5 GB's, and when I scroll through it or try to render, I get this little message:Import Process Server has encountered a problem and needs to close

Thanks for all your help. Sure enough, an MOV file works just fine and I may have tracked down the problem: the video, I'm sure caused from the source tape, lags towards the end-it seemed like every time I scrolled towards the end of the AVI it would crash. Still seems mighty peculiar that it would crash the system each time.

My system is XP; before the premiere worked well.
More detail story: Premiere could not open 3 days ago, no fix, some one sent me a crack software, I used it, no luck. Another nice guy told that is for non-legal Premiere, surely it won't work.
I tried to remove Premirere; difficult; some one suggested me to use Adobe CS4 cleaner from Adobe. Then it was removed. I re-install Premiere; During the process, abnomal thing I remember was: I can't input product S/N, so I had to use 30-day trial.
During the installation, it was stopped by Windows Installer issue, I restarted Windows Installer, then the process continued...
I have two log files, don't know how to attach into this message. But, can't find any problem therein.
Heverever, when I tried to open newly installed Premiere, error message says: ---can't open, reason is exactly same with very beginning: Can't communicate with Inporter Process Server....

Reports in process server....HELP!!!!!

Hi, I have installed 9i R2 Infrastructure and Application server on one machine and everything is running fine except the OEM shows that Report in process server rep_<host> is down, then I started it using command "rwserver server=rep_<host>" and it started fine but still in OEM shows it is down.
I am trying to call a report from my form application and it is giving me error message that Report server rep_<host> cannot be contacted. I also specified TNS entry for Report server.
Can someone help me out or tell me what I am doing wrong.

Hi
There may be some issue with OEM site. After starting your Report server, please bounce the BI_FORMS oc4j instance where Report Servlet is running. If you running a standalone server and not using the in-process server, it is better if you keep a name for standalone Report server which is different from in-process server name i.e. the default one. You need to keep a tnsentry only if you are using 6i Forms client. It will start a Report server listener for 6i clients. Hope this helps!

Migration Accelerator - Process Server not showing up in CX Configuration

For the part of the documentation where you establish what the process server is in the CX agent settings. I went to do that setting, but the Process Server never shows up. I have given it a few days and it still doesn't fill in the box.

This happens when process server is not registered with CS server. please check below:
On the Process Server, open
c:\home\svsystems\etc\AMETHYST.CONF. Search for 'PS_CS_IP' and port.
please validate above information is correct and PS_CS_IP should be public ip address of CS in Azure and same case for port (it should be public address of CS in Azure). In some cases your public address will change for CS in azure if you shutdown and start
the VM. This is due to no reserved IP address configured for this VM.
if that is the case, you will have to follow below steps to reset the things:
#1 Reconfigure Source Machine and MT to point to CS
on the Source Machines and Master Target (in your Azure subscription) you can change it from HOSTCONFIGWXCOMMON.EXE found under <program files>\InMage Systems
#2 Reconfigure PS to point to CS
on the Process Server, open c:\home\svsystems\etc\AMETHYST.CONF. Search for 'PS_CS_IP' and change the IP address to point to your new public CS IP address.
After making changes to your AMETHYST.CONF you need to restart TMANSVC service (go to RUN > services.msc > scroll down to tmansvc & restart it.)
#3 Reconfigure CS with MA Portal
Unregister CS from MA from
From CS Portal > menu Settings > Rx Settings > click ‘Unregister RX’
Run post deployment script on CS with new public IP as described in HELP, under the section ‘Installation and Configuration’ > ‘Create and Install components’ > ‘Install CS on Windows’ > ‘Run Postdeployconfig script’
Register CS with MA
From CS Portal > menu Settings > Rx Settings > click ‘Unregister RX’

Import Process Server

Hello,
I'm capturing Beta Cam tapes via Black Magic, it creates an AVI file, to a GLYPH hard drive; I'm working off the Glyph. After a minute of plyaback Adobe Premiere CS4 crashes and explains that there is an Import Process Server crash. This only happens with the AVI's imported via the deck; I have a lot of SxS shot footage, BPAV files, and they work just fine.

The Glyph is connected via USB 2.0, however it's connected to my PC, to act as a partition, and not connected to my BetaCam deck. (Basically I was capturing via Black Magic and saving the AVI to the Glyph; it didn't seem to like that for whatever reason).

Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceded

We are getting strange error in Redwood. Now we are not able to start process servers. Process servers were running fine and we were able to run jobs. For some activities in UNIX server we stopped the unix process server and now we are getting strange error while starting process server
9:52:51 PM: JCS-102204: Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceeded; limit is 0, changes require 1.
And we are not able create any new process servers also with job definition type System or Job Chain. While creating we are getting same error.
We have license ProcessServerService.JCL_FTP with the value true.
To create new process server we don't need any JCL_FTP license. Don't know why we are getting strange error.Please help me on this.

Running rwservlet with in-process server in JDeveloper

Hello,
I have a report.jsp in JDeveloper that contains both a web and paper based layout. I want to run this report within my web application using the in-process server. From what I understand, if I want PDF format I have to use the rwservlet. When I start my web application in JDeveloper, OC4J starts up, and it has the url of http://xx.x.xx.xxx:9004. How do I call rwservlet? I've tried http://xx.x.xx.xxx:9004/servlet/rwservlet and http://xx.x.xx.xxx:9004/reports/rwservlet, etc. etc. but have been unsuccessful. I always just get the "Resource /rwservlet not found on this server".

Thank you both for the help and getting back to me timely. So let me be sure I understand. When running my report in JDeveloper, I am not able to run the rwservlet because it is not deployed on the 9iDS instance of OC4J that JDeveloper uses, because JDeveloper uses a lightweight version of the 9iDS OC4J containers (Or rather, is it not even a version of 9iDS OC4J?). So, I have to start a separate 9iDS OC4J instance which does have rwservlet deployed. So if I try the unsupported trick and deploy reports_ids.ear to the same OC4J instance that Jdeveloper is using, I may be able to get everything working with one instance of OC4J. If I do, what about when I deploy my report to a production 9iAS server? I'm thinking that the 9iAS instance of OC4J would have the rwservlet deployed, so my application would be fit for this environment, and I would still be running everything on one instance of 9iAS OC4J. I also have the idea, for development, of instead of running my application and reports using the internal JDeveloper OC4J instance, I would use a standalone 9iDS OC4J instance on my machine and just run everything (my web application and reports) on this. Do you think this would be feasible? Should I be able to use the JDeveloper debugger to remotely debug all this?

IViewObject.Draw & in-process server

Hello, could somebody clarify two questions for me...
1. Is there any way to take screenshot of Adobe Reader running within browser(IE)? I tried to call IViewObject.Draw(...) but only HTML context is rendered.
2. When Adobe Reader is used within browser it is launched as two separate processes AcroRD32.exe, is there any way to use the Adobe Reader as in-process server ?

1 – Why not just use OS calls to capture the screen?
2 – Correct, there are two processes because of the protected mode (aka Sandbox). You can, of course, turn that off on your local machine and then only a single instance will exist. However, AFAIK, it won't be in-proc.

Microsoft Migration accelerator - Process Server NAT?

For the MS MA process server (on premises server), one of the requirements is a NAT setup to an external IP. Do we have any control over what port the server will be using? The reason I ask is 80 and 443 on this specific IP are already
consumed and being used for other servers, so I cant NAT those ports to the PS box.
Any insight here would be excellent. Thanks!

PS server polls to CS server on port 443 for registration and sync the data for reports.
MT server in azure pulls the replication data from process server through ports 9080 and 9443 (If secure options enabled on replications). MT server will connect to PS server through NAT IP and required ports to be enabled are 9080 and 9443.

I have configured CX, MT and PS. When I navigate to Monitor -> Agent Heartbeat; I see "Unknown" value under Machine and Agent Role tab. Looks like I am missing something? Please advice. Many thanks!

This is normal behavior. This kind of status will be
shown for Configuration server (CS) & Process server (PS) only.<o:p></o:p>
You will see the time stamp under "Process Server
(PS)" only if an server is installed with that role.<o:p></o:p>
Problem 2:
Could you please check the 'amethyst.conf' file in the following location "C:\home\svsystems\etc"
is provided with the right Configuration server IP (CS).<o:p></o:p>
PS_CS_IP = "CS_IP"<o:p></o:p>
PS_CS_PORT = "HTTP/HTTPS_port number"<o:p></o:p>
Also please check which method of communication is
selected while installing CS.<o:p></o:p>

CPS process server restart

HI Expets,
I am new to CPS. So i am looking for help in this forum. We have included two systems in CPS and defined process servers for them.
If the SAP system goes down for any reason, the prcoess server status changing to shutdown . CPS is not trying to restart the process server even after SAP syste is back up and running. We have to manually restart the process server evrytime.
Is there any way to to check the process server status and restart of process server automatically?

If the connection between CPS and the SAP system is broken, I would expect the process server to change to "Connecting" status. Then the process server should return to RUNNING status when the connection is restored.
How exactly is the conenction to the SAP system lost in your tests?
Have you tried different ways of breaking the connection? Same results?

Monitor Process Server Status

Hi,
Recently we had an example of a process sever going into the "unknown" state. We didn't know about the condition and jobs were I assume queued up for execution. Since they were not killed or canceled we did not receive any notification.
Is there a simple method of monitoring the process server status that we can then leverage to send some notification in the event of a non "running" status. Thanks.

Not sure if this applies with the standalone version, but our Redwood CPS runs on SAP 700 SP15, but the patches I refered to earlier are found on the main screen of Redwood after logging in, and clicking on the 'Product Information' logo (Big letter i) in the top right hand corner. Should say something like:
