In PS CS5 when Ajustments panel

In PS CS5 when Adjustments panel is selected un the Windows dropdown menu next to the adjustments panel tab there is a Masks tab.  This is not the case with PS CS6 Beta.   Why is this the case?  Has Adobe excluded the Masks tab?  I could not find the Masks tab under the Windows drop down menu?

The Adjustments panel in CS6 is limited to creating new adjustment layers, while the actual adjustment controls are in the Properties panel.

  • Lightroom 4 launches to Photoshop CS5 when I try to print from Lightroom. How do I change it

Lightroom 4 launches to Photoshop CS5 when I try to print from Lightroom. How do I change it, so the printing goes directly from Lightroom to the printer.

    MartyOretsky wrote:
Let me try again. I am in Lightroom and click print. Then I am launched to PS.
    This is not possible.
What you are seeing is not PS, it's your printer dialog. PS does not have an ICM button.
And you say: " Lightroom doesn't stop working; rather CS5 stops working"
And what does the error message say that you posted in the screen shot?  Does it not say "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working" ?
Do not be confused. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the official name of Lightroom. This is not CS5 that has stopped working. CS5 does not come on when you hit the print button in Lr.
It is Lr that has stopped working.
And you say: "My next step is to click on ICM so the color controls are done by the software."
This is wrong. When you want Lr to do the color management, you select a profile in the Print Module, in the <Print Job> panel under Color Management / Profile.
In the screen shot below I have selected a profile for my HP printer and paper. And that's where you select a profile for your printer and paper.
You do not click on ICM in your printer dialog. You click there only when you want your printer to manage colors.
So try to print by selecting the profile in the print Module as indicated and do not click on ICM.
By the way: Which OS? Are you on a Mac?

Same here. I've never had trouble with this function before.

  • Prevent lower text from moving when accordion panels open

I tried out the Accordion Panel from Project Seven which is
really nice and works well. My only issue right now is that I would
like to prevent the rest of the text outside and below this widget
within the same column from moving. When any panel opens it causes
the contents of the entire column to shift down thus causing the
page to shift down as well.
I have tried using a new div for the content below the panels
and also a new table below but can't seem to figure out how to keep
the content from shifting. Curently I have a table cell nested and
have tried with CSS to keep it from moving but that is not working
    either.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
Here is the code for the column in question:

no takers on this one? Does anyone know how I could fix this
with divs? Is it possible to put this accordion into a separate div
and create another below it that would not move? Like on the new
apple site...They have some really awesome accordion style navs on
the sides that do not throw the rest of the page off when they open
    or close.
    Thanks.

  • How to force page to scroll when collapsible panel is opened by link

    Hi,
I have seen similiar questions asked but not answered, so maybe there isn't away to do this.
I have numerous collapsible panels going all the way down the page, actually I just formed a Collapsible Panel Group. They are opened by a list of links at the top of the page.
This is an example of a link...
    <li><a href="#CollapsiblePanel14" onclick="cpg.openPanel(13);">AKC CGC & TDI Testing</a></li>
And this is the javascript at the bottom of the page...
    var cpg = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanelGroup("CollapsiblePanelGroup1", { contentIsOpen: false, duration: 800 });
When a link to one of the lower panels is clicked, I would like the page to scroll down so when the panel opens all of the content is within view.
Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks
    Dennis

On line 431 of your JS change
    this.content.style.height = this.toHeight + "px";
    to
    this.content.style.height = "auto";

  • InDesign CS5 crashing when preflight panel is turned on

I was working on CS5 file (originally created in CS3) and saved it without a problem. The next day I tried opening it, but was ID was crashing all the time. The file has 132 pages and around 450 linked files (TIFFs and EPSs). I managed to open it when I switched off the "Live Preflight" and could work with it, but of course I couldn't package the files - everything just froze, so I had to terminate ID in the Task Manager palette.
When I was again able to open the file, I exported it to the .idml and then tried re-opening in CS5, but after 45 minutes of processing I gave up. I decided to copy all the pages to a new document, but now I cannot open the file even though the "Live Preflight" is turned off. The ID just crashes every time. I thought it was because of my hardware (3 GB of ram, Core2Duo processor), so I tried opening it on a brand new i7 / 16 GB of RAM, but ID crashed on that machine as well. This is very frustrating, since I am on a deadline due in two days and have no idea what to do anymore.
    Thank you for your answer.

It sounds highly likely that the file has become corrupted. I see you tried to export an IDML. Copy the original file and all linked images to machine with the most memory. Restart the computer, and try again. Give it plenty of time to work and don't quit out. You have a lot of images.
If necessary, try restoring your preferences:

  • CS5 Folio Builder Panel Update - Panel Gone

I just updated the Folio Builder Panel for CS5 on Mac to the latest version (Jan 26, 2012) and when I run InDesign, the Folio Builder Panel is no longer there. Also, the CSLive panel gives me an "internal error" message. I installed the updates on my PC for CS 5.5 and it all seems to work. However, I need to work in CS5 for this particular project. Is this a known issue? How do I remedy the situation? In case it matters, I also updated the Folio Producer Tools (Jan 17, 2012), as well.

So, I ended up getting everything ironed out, though it took a couple of hours of trying various things. Essentially, the Folio Builder Panel was installed, however Indesign was not seeing it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Indesign, but that didn't remove the Folio Builder Panel, and did not "refresh" it to become visible.
Ultimately, I had to go throught the app folders and manually uninstall the extension. After reinstalling, the panel showed up. However a new problem emerged. Indesign was trying to login to my account but just spinning and nothing was happening. I could not cancel the "sign in" attempt. Finally, this was resolved by opening key chain and deleting the Adobe entry from there which allowed me to reenter my credentials.
Whew. Thank goodness that's over. (until the next update, that is).
Hopefully, this can save others some time who may run into this. Seems like it was a bit of a fluke.

  • CS5 - When Capable for nanoFlash Sound with Premiere CS5

Well Folks, here we go again.  I made the mistake of ordering and paying
for and going through the grief of installing CS5 - I should have my head
examined (as my Dad used to say to me frequently!), after 13 years of
purchasing the latest Adobe updates.  But excuse me, to the subject:
I have an EX1 with nanoFlash producing stunning pictures at 1920x1080 30p
100 Mbps Long GOP MXF Files, and Premiere CS5 handles the video beautifully,
but the audio right out of the box for me and all the other nano people is
gutter garbage, with stereo, one audio channel lagging the other (which can
only be laboriously fixed with each individual clip - argggghhh)!
And Adobe, in its infinite marketing hype and wisdom has decided that users
such as I are not important enough to fix this issue, even with the update!
Does anyone at Adobe or out there anyplace have any notion as to when this
    will be FIXED?
In the meantime, after a total rewrite of my hard drive OS and all the other
apps for a clean install, I am back to CS4, using Premiere CS4 with the Main
Concept plug in enabling the appropriate handling of my nano files.  But good
greif!  The time it takes to get out of the timeline, and particularly so compared
to the otherwise superb performance of Premeire CS5.
Convergent Designs - the company which developed and makes the nanoFlash
and related products announces that Adobe has two nanos in hand!
I know, I know, I should have my head examined.  But if anyone out there has
any comments avoiding that, I's appreciate the latest info or even gossip!!!!

    AndyUrtu:
In response to your query above re output on my nano, with which I am having difficulty in PPCS5:
Video: 1920x1080, pixel depth 32, frame rate 29.97, pixel aspect ratio 1.0,
    MPEG 2 - 4:2:2 - progressive - CBR 100,000 Mbit/sec - Long GOP N 15 M 3
    Audio: PCM AES-3 - 48,000 Hz 24 Bit - 2 Channel
Soooo, I think that pretty well covers it!  Now for some commentary, and to me, the
interesting query about trying other settings!  Frankly, I hadn't even thought of that.
First, according to all the users I admire and respect, and according to the principals
of CG (Convergent Designs), the 100 Mbits/sec settings seem best and ideal in
terms of securing the best picture quality at the "lowest" data rate (if you can call
that a "low" data rate!).  So I'm really not willing to change the video set up.  But
I find the idea of doing something different with the audio interesting, and may
try some different settings, since my (and others') issue is with the audio.
From the outset, the principals at CG reported that there were problems with the
audio in nano files with PPCS5, and they implied that Adobe would likely provide
a fix.  So I went ahead and purchased the nano and the Production Pemium Suite CS5
with the expectation that a solution would shortly be forthcoming.
You and I are not alone in experiencing this problem, notwithstanding comments to the
    contrary!
And I took Harm's (another one of my Heros!) to heart, and just posted my issue
    Adobe's Bug site.
I may be mistaken, but I believe that CG has just produced the thousandth nano,
and while this is miniscule compared to other devices providing files for Adobe,
for those of us who own a nano, the issue is monumental - personally and professionally,
the combo of the Ex1 and the nano produces such stunning fidelity for anything
under 20 or 30 thousand, that I am not willing to settle for anything less.
I hope that the Adobe person will supply some hard data here about the nano
settings which provide error free handling of nano files!  It would be MUCH
    appreciated.

  • After Effects CS6 and CC crash when Composition panel is closed, moved, switched w/ Layer panel, etc

Kind of hard to word the problem in a non-confusing way, but here goes. After Effects CS6 and CC will only work if the Composition panel is in its default spot in the Standard workspace, and that it's the only thing displayed there. No layer or footage panels can be opened  - it can only be Comp or nothing.
In other words, AE is 100% certain to crash if:
    - The composition panel is closed or moved to another spot in the workspace.
    - A file from the project is double-clicked and opened as a layer/footage panel
    - Any attempt is made to switch the Standard workspace to another
The crappiest thing about this is that I've searched Google using as many different phrases as I can and haven't found any discussion about this particular problem. It's as if I'm the only one on Earth who is having this issue.
It should be noted that After Effects CS5 does not have this problem on my PC, but I need CS6 or better because that's what we're using at work now. I can't work from home (as I need to do occasionally) if AE won't work properly.
    System:
    Windows 7 PC, 12GB RAM, Quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.7 Ghz, ATI Radeon HD 6700 series GPU (1GB)

It's not like a regular crash that instantly closes the program and has a "sorry, AE crashed" popup. It basically just freezes until the process is forced to quit.

  • VI locks up when front panel is displayed

    Hi
Firstly, I apologise if I’ve sent this to the wrong forum – I’m not sure if this is a TestStand or Labview related issue or possibly both.
I have a test procedure developed using Labview 7.1 and TestStand 3.1. It’s run from TestStand’s Operator Interface VI (full version), and executes about a dozen TestStand sequences in turn which call lower level VIs that perform the actual tests.
The code was written on a Dell GX240 Pentium 4 PC, with Windows 2000 + SP4 installed and runs without a hitch. However, I also have a second PC, same model & spec, but running Windows XP + SP3 instead of Win2K. I’ve also installed the same versions of Labview & TestStand on it, and copied across all my TestStand sequences & VIs into the same working directory. However, when I run the program on this machine, again using the same Operator Interface, it executes until about half way through and then hangs up.
In several tests, I call up a graphical user interface VI which displays a picture and prompts the operator to click on either a ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’ button – the actual text being passed as a parameter. When the lock up occurs, the front panel is displayed, but there’s no picture and the buttons are blank. Up to that point, previous calls to the VI have executed ok.
If I modify the step that causes the problem, to call another VI - for example, a sub VI that doesn’t display a front panel - the new VI executes and the program continues to run. If I then change this VI’s configuration so that it’s front panel is displayed at run time, the problem re-occurs - the front panel outline appears but everything then freezes.
Attempting to close the front panel window, results in either error code –18001 and the message ‘an error occurred accessing the Labview ActiveX automation server’ being displayed or the Windows prompt to close Labview as it’s not responding. Usually, clicking ‘End Program’ causes the PC to crash out & re-boot.
Skipping TestStand sequences, whether they execute the GUI VI or not, just moves the point where the lock up occurs further down the list of tests, to the next step where the GUI VI is called. It’s almost as if something isn’t being closed properly when the program runs, and eventually reaches some limit, but why this doesn’t appear to effect the Windows 2000 PC, I’m at a loss.
    Very much appreciate anyone’s thoughts.
    Thanks
    Bruce

    Hi Bruce,
I found a KnowledgeBase article relating to the error you are seeing.
It describes error 18001 "Error occurred accessing LV activeX automation server".
Let me know if this helps you out.
This problem may also be due to how you have configured the Distributed COM (DCOM) settings on your machine. You will need to ensure that your DCOM settings allows the LabVIEW ActiveX Server to be launched and accessed through ActiveX automation. Even Administrator accounts can be denied launch and access permissions. To modify these permissions follow the steps below for Windows XP:
Login to Windows using a UserID that has administrator privileges.
Select Start»Run and enter dcomcnfg.exe. This displays the Component Services dialog window.
Navigate to Component Services»Computers»My Computer and select DCOM Config. Ignore the warnings that may appear.
Right-click on LabVIEW Application, TestStandLVRTS or the name of your LabVIEW ActiveX Server and select Properties to open the LabVIEW Application Properties dialog window. Select the Security tab.
You must give permission to the appropriate users so that they can access the LabVIEW server. You should give everyone access permissions and appropriate users launch permission. Only users who have launch permission will be able to access the server. Add permissions by selecting Customize and Edit for each of the three permission settings and manually adding permissions for each user.
I doubled checked that LabVIEW 7.1 and 3.1 are compatible with windows XP and they are.  Just to make sure, it is 32bit or 64bit you are using?
Let me know how you get on.
    Kind Regards
    Lewis Gear CLD

  • Graph stalls when front panel is adjusted

So I am trying to debug a code that someone previously wrote. I am a bit familiar with the code but as I mentioned did not write it myself. The deal is that when Im in running the front panel and the graph is graphing time vs any other parameter, if you press any button on the front panel or if a sub-vi gets called the graph will stall and one has to manually reset the graph. I am not too sure why this is going on. Attached are a few screen shots of where this section of the code lives. There is a stacked sequence with two subdiagrams and it is also being called in the event structure inside one of those subdiagrams. I could also upload the whole code if needed.
    Thanks for the help guys

OK, I was able to get to the code by selective unzipping.
As a first step, you should eliminate all these value property nodes and replace them with plain local variables instead. The code os causing excessive thread switching and spends way too much time in the UI thread.
Overall, there is way too much code. For example you have in the "graphed parameter" event the same property node in every single case of the inner case structures. These property nodes belong after the case structure, only once instance each needed!
(Sorry, I have to do some other things now. Will look at it a little more later.....)
