In PSE8 when using a selection took, unselected area turns red.

When using any of the selection tools, the unselected area turns red. How can I correct this?

Generally that just happens when using one of the Type Mask Tools or you get a red mask when using the Selection Brush Tool
in mask mode with Add to Selection enabled before starting the mask.
Could you post a screenshot?

How to skip authorisation for infotype when using dynamic selection ?

Hi folks,
I have a problem here.
When im using dynamic selection screen, i cannot skip authorisation for subtypes of an infotype. Eg. if my record for 0185 have records that do not have authorisation for the subtypes. Dynamic selection will filter away this record and will not get me into the Get Peras as id i use to run has authorisation configured. IT will skip out of Get Peras.
However, if im not using dynamic selection screen, i will use the normal pnpce fields, i will be able to get the record, as i do my authorisation check using function module in the get peras, and i did not declare 0185 in the infotypes.
May i know if there is any solution to this problem as dynamic selection screen is a standard...

however i cannot skip authorisation for the whole pernr as i need the authorisations for the processing reports.
Currently the case is like this..
i have a authorisations for infotype 0185. i have 2 subtypes records such as ZA and ZB. the user does not have authorisation to read ZB but has authorisation to read ZA.
However, when use dynamic selection, it will skip out the pernr.
If the pernr 0185 records has only ZA subtype but no ZB subtype, it will not skip this pernr when using dynamic selection.
Anymore idea how to overcome this?

RME-000011 error occurs:

Activity aborted with API errors.
Does someone know what went wrong?

Could you please let me know what utility causes this erroneous behaviour? Is it possible to give a reproduceable description? I'm not aware of this problem. If you can force the failure again, is it possible to include the last part of the debug detailed log (set message level for user at 'debug detailed') in this thread?

yes, that is exactly what mine did too. I noticed that something is wrong after receiving calls and did not hear anything.
It was like the IPhone did not realize that the headphone is not any longer plugged in. I m not sure weather I plugged/unplugged the headphones after this more than once but it startet working correctly.

The colors are vastly different when using pdf Factory with Firefox. When using pdfFactory with IE, they are both the same.

There doesn't seem to be a one-size-fits-all answer, because what works for one printer doesn't necessarily work for another, and I don't have your printer so I can't advise on specifics...
However, perhaps we can discover a set of settings that will work...
If you File - Print, choose Photoshop Manages Colors, in the Printer Profile section do you see profiles specific to your printer (e.g., with the name Kodak in them)?
If so, choose one of them that seems appropriate given the paper you're using.
If not, try choosing sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
Now, before you continue, press the [Print Settings...] button. This brings up the printer driver dialog. You may have to go through [Advanced] buttons or whatever, but what you're looking to do here is to disable the printer driver's color management logic. In other words, if you can find a color-management / ICC profile handling section, set it to "no color management" or equivalent. OK back out to Photoshop's print dialog, then press [Print].
The key here is that if Photoshop manages the color transforms, the printer driver should not be set to do so - or vice versa.
If you're presented with the printer driver's dialog again, double check that the settings you chose above are still set, for good measure, and try a test print.

It may be similar to this topic. Try zapping the PRAM (as suggested in the linked topic) and see if that clears it.
To do so, restart and immediately hold down the Command+Option+P+R keys through two startup chimes. Then release the keys and let the Mac start normally.

PPro CC crashes when using Track Select tool

This is probaby the most bizzare bug i have encountered so far - everythig works - i can scub, play and adjust footage, apply effects, titles and time remapping, but when i select Treack Select tool and click on the timeline, Premiere Pro crashes.
This is a new develpment as well - i was able to use PPro CC just fine since i installed it (trial version), until yesterday.
No new applications or updates for Windows, Nvidia card or Adobe were installed lately, but all drivers are up to date (according to various update managers)
Premiere CS6 works fine with the same sequence (mixed RED and DSLR footage)

Yep, buggy project..
New project with same and different footage works fine
Other project created in CC works fine
Imported sequence from CS6 works fine
Imported sequence from a buggy CC project into a new project causes crash on using Track Select tool
I was able to revert the project in question to CS6 via Final Cut Pro XML, also works fine (for now, at least), just have to redo some time remapping which didn't come through with XML translation, small loss
I guess i'll wait few more months before switching to PPro CC, maybe mysterious bugs will be worked out by then

Problem with 0FIGL_VC1 when use constant selection in the query

Please kindly help me. I have this problem for 2 weeks already.
When I create a query from virtual cube 0FIGL_VC1 (balance sheets / p&l statements), if I use constant selection in any of key figure, my report could not display financial statment correctly.
My report layout
Columns : key figures (including 0FIGL_VC1_CK001)
Rows: 0GLACCEXT (financial statement item) << as hierarchy
Initially, the query is processed correctly.
However, based on the requirement from my customer, I really have to use "constant selection" for some of my columns. Whenever I do so, the query display incorrectly. (Some nodes of financial statement item just disappear. (it seem like all contra item will disappear.)
Please help!

Real Sum aggregation, when using Constant selection

I have to infoproviders:

Flag - may be considered as attribute of MATERIAL x PLANT x CALDAY

MATERIAL
PLANT
CALDAY
KYF2
I need to analyze next slice:
FLAG
MATERIAL
KYF1
KYF2
Thus, I get next results
F1 M1 1 0
F1 M2 3 0
F2 M3 2 0
M1 0 10
M2 0 5.
M3 0 3.
So I can't see KYF2 for FLAG values. To see it I make KYF constant selection for FLAG. So I can see KYF2 for corresponding MATERIALs:
F1 M1 1 10
F1 M2 3 5
F2 M3 2 3
But if I use result lines, they show whole sum for KYF2, not dividing between flags, because I use constant selection:
F1 M1 1 10
F1 M2 3 5
Totals 4 18
F2 M3 2 3
Totals 3 18
Glob Totals 7 18
And the question is:
Is there any way to make result calculation use sum of underlying items, not using OLAP to calculate it?

PS: I cant use infoset for joining two cubes, becuase I need to use outer join, which is forbidden on cubes.
PPS: I cant use separate DSO or IOBJ for storing FLAG, because it has too many values.

How this can help me? This will give me total for every material for FLAG = #.
I found solution:
I hust create restricted KF with CS on FLAG
Then Calculated KF where this RKF is multiplied by reference to MATERIAL (for intermediate aggregation). Then I use the CKF in report structure with time restrictions.

Using stills with effects - they are turning magenta!

I'm using imovie 6.0 because of the effects it has just as rain and fog. Although I'm getting this message lately and don't know how to fix it: This effect generates different results for each frame, which will not show up on Still Clips. I have been previously using these effects on photos and now they are turning magenta. What am I doing wrong?
Also is there anyway to get these effects in imovie 8.0? The version from iLife 09?

a. What kind of stills are You using. Using .bmp is known to get wrong color.
I use .jpg, .tiff.
b. There are more effects in iMovie'09 - but You can't add more ones.
That's one of many items keeping many of us to stay in iMovie HD 6
c. free space under 5Gb on internal (boot) hard disk gives unpredictable results

"NI Network Browser Error!" When Using 'DataSocket Select URL'

We have two LV 7.1.1-built executables running on two different computers that are networked together. Each executable starts the DataSocket Server on their own computer and then attempts to read from the other computer's DataSocket Server. Everthing works well if both computers are running XP SP2 or SP3.
The problem occurs when one of the OS's is Windows 2000 SP3. The executable on the XP computer can see the DataSocket items in the 'DataSocket Select URL' window on the Windows 2000 computer. However, on the Windows 2000 computer, if you open the 'DataSocket Select URL' window, and try to browse the DataSocket items on the XP computer, one of the following dialogs appears:

Cannot open a network enumeration

An extended error has ocurred.
OR
NI Network Browser Error!
Cannot enumerate items in this heirarchy

The volume path was not found
This is usually followed by a DataSocket Read error of 214701483 (this looks like a COM object error, but for once, Google didn't have anything to say about it).
There was a similar post to this one in which Manuel Wielander suggests setting the 'Authentication Level' to 'Connect' and the 'Impersonation Level' to 'Identify'. He also suggested adding 'ole.AuthnLevel=1' to the executable's ini file. None of these suggestions work. I have also added every exception imaginable to the Windows XP firewall with no luck.
Anyone dare to step into the networking abyss with me on this one? Much thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

This problem is a bit difficult to track down. I have Win 2k SP4 and WinXP Pro computers and am unable to reproduce the issue at the moment. However, I have found information that this issue has occurred in the past. In some instances it appears that changing the DataSocket Select URL.vi's Preferred Execution System to something other than "user interface" (eg. "Same as caller" or "standard") from VI Properties>>Execution resolves the problem. However, this is not a guaranteed workaround. R&D is aware of the problem and is working to fix it. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Snapping to pixel grid when using direct selection

Hi,
I'm new to Illustrator and looking to use it for creating some icons for an application I am working on. These icons are relatively small (16x16 and 32x32) and need many of the paths perfectly aligned with the pixel grid to avoid unnecessary anti-aliasing. This functionality seems to work okay when creating new shapes, however when I attempt to modify the points on a path they are snapping to the corners of the pixels rather than the centre, leaving me with anti-aliased lines everywhere. Is there another setting somewhere I need to change (or should I be using another graphics app)?

Align to Pixel Grid limits the options, but you may untick it and work on.
The Align to Pixel Grid setting in the Transform palette itself is the current object, and the other one in the Options is for future objects.

Problems when using id = "selection"

actually this is not a question but a hint if you get the same problem.
If you use htmlb with id = "selection", you will get a JavaScript error after leaving a Input Field.
The problem seems to be in the Javascript sapUrMapi_ie6.js, in function ur_getSelection. There is a direct access to the object window.document.selection... If you name your form or other objects with id ="selection", this statement will be confused.
Workaround: Rename all tags with id "selection".
Actually I should write an OSS Message, but I have no S-User
BTW: This Error will only occur in WAS 7.0

GROUP BY Problem When Using a SELECT for a column

I have a very complex query that has, as one column, a SELECT clause. Here is a very simplified example from EMP/DEPT to illustrate what I need.
This query works fine without the GROUP BY:
select empno,
(select dname
from dept
where e.deptno = dept.deptno)
from emp e;
How can a GROUP BY be applied to this? The following get a subquery error (not allowed in the GROUP BY).
select empno,
(select dname
from dept
where e.deptno = dept.deptno)
from emp e
group by empno,
(select dname
from dept
where e.deptno = dept.deptno)
And, of course, you can't use column numbers or aliases in the GROUP BY.

Strange halo when using quick selection tool

It's easier to show than describe it so I added an image
Select/Fill with foreground color (white) and I get this white halo in the non-selected area
The settings in the 'refine edge' dialog , 'sample all layers' and 'auto-enhance' have no effect on this
