In RG1 ,Unit of measurement is KG,User want to change as MR

Hi Experts,
In RG1,user want to change unit of measurement as KG to MR.Now its showing KG but in billing there is unit of measurement is MR .I have checked material master.I found following:
base unit of measurement is KG
sales Unit: SM
while creating order system default unit of measurement showing SM.In Additional data there are some conversion factors.
Please help me gurus
how can i covert KG to MR in RG1? as in billing it is MR.

Problem coming in RG1 as UOM comming KG.user already billed in MR as there is conversion factor in material master MR to KG.
According to your suggetion if i changed sales unit as MR it comes defaulted in order then in invoice.but in RG1 still it showing KG as UOM.
Can you explain about RG1? In RG1 may be system catch only base unit of measurement which is KG.

Error when other user want to change list item with rejected status

Hi All,
I have list with Content Approval option.
One of users edits one of the items, which are being rejected. After that, other user wants to edit same item. Second user doesn't see rejected changes from other users, he changes some field in this item and want to save changes.
Unfortunately, SP shows error and doesn't save changes. Content Approval is still Rejected.
Why SP doesn't allow other users to change this item ?

According to your post, my understanding is that second user get an error and can’t save changes when one user and the second user are editing the same item in a list at the same time.
I do this test in my environment, and the result is the same as you get.
In SharePoint, the system enables you and your colleagues to view the same item in a list at the same time.
However, it’s by design that the system can’t allow both you and your colleagues to save the their corresponding changes when they are editing the same item in a list at the same time whether this list enable the Content Approval option, the Content Approval
status of the current item or not.
If one user first click on the “Save” button to save the modified item, he can save the changes back, and all the late users will get the error and can’t save their modified item when they click on the “Save” button.

Unity 7: users want to change the TUI language

Gents,
I am implementing Unity 7.0 UM with Exchange in a multi-cultural environment. I installed 4 different languages (licensed) and set English by default.
Is there a possibility for users to change the TUI language setting by themselves?
Indeed, when they consult their voicemail box, they would like to hear their mothertongue instead of English. Is there a way for users to change this setting without a dedicated intervention of the Unity Admin, user by user?

Issue: Proportion/produciton unit of measure NO is invalid for item 900001.
Here we have MTO Scenario: In outbound delivery when we do batch split & batch determination we are getting the above error.
Consider the following settings: at MM01 - Prodution/Proportion unit data is maintained with a characterstic specific to batch. Means Batch specific unit of measurement. In Work scheduling view produciton unit, unit of issue are maintained as 'NO'. All these settings are same for all material codes.
Please suggest us why we are getting the issue for perticular material coce.
Info: We resolve the issue by adding one more line item in the sales order & do the transfer posting the stock from line item to line item. But this is not the permanent solution.

I believe the error message no is VL 382 (Proportion/product unit of measure & invalid for item &)
You need to double click on the error message flashing on the status bar to get the error number.
I believe long text for the error message is self explainatary. Refer it and make necessary changes to resolve the issue.
Diagnosis
You want to use a proportion / product unit for an item.
You are not allowed to change the unit of measure into a proportion / product unit if:
- The following exist for a sales document item:
Preceding documents
Subsequent documents
- You are processing a scheduling agreement for the component supply industry
- You change the target unit of measure in a scheduling agreement item (and the sales unit is not a proportion / product unit)
- You are processing a customer requirements plan
- The following exist for a delivery item:
Preceding documents
Subsequent documents
Batch split items
- You are processing a batch split item
Procedure
Use a different unit of measure.
If you want to change the target unit of measure into a proportion / product unit in a scheduling agreement item, you need to change the sales unit accordingly. The system then sets the target unit of measure to the same as the sales unit.
Further, if you are working on older version, refer SAP Note 364206 - VLSP:indic.for proportion/product quantities deletd.

Dear All,
I have created service master with unit of measure MON(MONTH), and I have entered alternate unit of mesure 1MON=30 DAYS,
I have created service PO with unit of measure MON, In service entry sheet the unit of measure is MON, I want to change the unit of measure to DAY, BUT in service entry sheet the unit of measure is MON and the filed is desabled, I cannot change the unit on measure to DAY, Please tell me how to change the unit of measure,

Change of unit of measure in service entry is restricted as below
Since all data is updated in the base unit of measure, your entry is particularly important for the conversion of alternative units of measure. A quantity in the alternative unit of measure can only be shown precisely if its value can be shown with the decimal places available. To ensure this, please note the following:
The base unit of measure is the unit satisfying the highest necessary requirement for precision.
The conversion of alternative units of measure to the base unit should result in simple decimal fractions (not, for example, 1/3 = 0.333...).
So logically there is a constraint for what you are trying to do

Unit of Measure issue - Need to be changed from volume to no dimention.

           I have a unit of measure as TB, which is tube. This is a volume unit. The user want to change this as "Pls have this be corrected as a non-dimensional unit of measure ". For this what is impact on system.
          Precautions to be taken to change this unit of measure. what are all we have to do. like closing all open POs, PR, RFQ,SO , production order, planned orders etc.
          And what about the stocks for these materials which are using these UOM.
          Please suggest me, what are all we have to do, before going for a change.

The base unit of measurement for a material cannot be changed due to movements history exists. This will result to inconsistency in reports and data.
Suggested to create similar new material with new user desired UOM.
Please find the SAP HELP on this as below:
Diagnosis: You wanted to change the base unit of measure. However, you can do so only under certain circumstances, including the following:
- If there are no stocks of the material in the current period and in the previous period.
- If there are stocks in the previous period, you can clear them as follows:
a) Post the stock in the previous period to the current period (for example, using movement type 561 Posting date 30.06.XX ) so that the stock for the previous period is the same as the stock for the current period.
b) Clear the stock with the posting date in the previous period (for example, using movement type 562 Posting date 30.05.XX).
- If no purchase requisitions, purchase orders, or scheduling agreements exist for the material.
Procedure : Choose Display errors to see why you cannot change the base unit of measure for this material.
The pushbutton Display errors appears only in dialog mode, not in data transfer or in mass maintenance. If this message appears in data transfer or in mass maintenance, and you want to know why the base unit of measure cannot be changed, access the material in dialog mode using the relevant transaction below, try to change the base unit of measure as required, and then choose Display errors:
Lastly, you can considered an Alternate Unit of Measure to do the Conversion from KG to Liter. You then could use your Alternate Unit of Measure as your
Purchased UoM and PLant UoM.
Given the level of activity sometimes required to change the base UOM, it often makes more sense just to add an alternative UOM on the material master.
Maintain the relationship between the Base UOM and the new UOM on the material master and then continue to procure the material in the new UOM rather than the base UOM. If stocks exist I would think it is unlikely that their existing UOM is incorrect as they must have been receipted in that UOM at some point.

Unit Of Measure Conversion in the SNP Planning Book

I have a problem in (a copy of ) the standard SNP Planning Book 9ASNP94.
I often need to view data in different units of measure however, but would like to avoid having to set up multiple Planning Areas. I know how to change the Unit Of Measure on my User Settings and for specific Selection IDs however, the conversions only ever work for a single Location/Product combination. As soon as I select 2 Products, the Key Figures all revert back to the Planning Area UoM.
Is there anyway round this or do I have to create new Planning Areas? If so, what are the issues in running multiple Planning Areas - does this cause performance problems?

My feeling is when you do conversion on aggregated level(multiple products), if any of the product has UOM missing then you coversion fails on aggregted level.
It looks strange that UOM conversion looks fine when you do conversion on each product.
I suggest you to check whether the UOMs (that you want to convert)are updated correctly on each product on their repective location in the product master under UOM tab.

Alternate unit of measure and its impact on CO module

We are in CPG company, our client has decided to use CAR (i.e. Carton) as base unit of measure and TO (tonnage) as alternate unit of measure. CO users and client management wants to run planning, allocation and CO-PA analysis in TO (tonnage).
Some of activities like cost estimates will be run using CAR. We have come to know that we might have to use COPA0005 enhancement.
We need to know how it will impact CO module as TO is not base unit of measure for finished goods?

Thanks Ajay for your reply. My point is that we need to know the impact on CO module because our Client will use CAR (carton) as base unit of measure and CO users have to use TO (tonnage) for planning, allocation, profitability analysis, etc.
We will define the UoM conversion relationship in material master, say 1 TON = 125 CAR.
We have come to know that cost estimate can only be run using base unit of measure (i.e. CAR) so client will have to run cost estimate using CAR.
What about other functionality like allocations, planning, CO reports, etc. What will be the impact on CO module as TO is not the base unit of measure and our client have to use TO for allocations, reporting, CO-PA, etc.

Purchase order unit of measure

If my base unit of measure is Metres(M), and without changing the base unit of measure if i want the purchase order to pick up KG , where all do i have to do the settings like in config or Material master record. If its material master record, then where inside material master record.
My proces here starts with PR ? So how should it be done that KG is picked up in PR also.
Where are the settings for purchase order unit of measure done(UoM) ?

In General data, next to ORDER UNIT there is a Variable Purchase Order Unit
Check on that
Activation of the variable purchase order unit.
The information from the field in the material master record is adopted in the purchasing info record. In the purchase order and in the source list, you can enter an order unit that differs from the one in the purchasing info record.
If you wish to specify a different order unit for a requisition, you must assign a source with a different order unit to the requisition.

TLB-STO in alternative unit of measure

Hi All
We are planning in SNP in base unit of measure EA.But we want STO to be created via TLB in unit of measure CASE.
Is there is any way so that when we create STO it will create the same in alternative unit of mesure CASE in APO?
Or when STo get published to ECC it will convert to unit of mesure cases?
I have already maintained ordering unit of measure in ECC at destination location but it is useful for normal Purchase orders not for STO coming from TLB.

Hi,
You can create new Planning area with UOM as CASE.
In SNP Global setting, change TLB UOM as Planning Area.
EXecute TLB in this planning area.
We have done similar setting.

How to hide/suppress unit of measure for values of columns in structure

hi,
hi i am using following in rows and columns.
Rows:
1. material group
2. structure (key figures)
     key figure 1
     key figure 2
     key figure 3
3. base unit of measure
Columns:
1. structure (time scale)
    fiscal period 1
    fiscal period 2
    fiscal period 3
    fiscal period 4
If I run the report I am getting unit of measure for each key figure in each fiscal period. I wan to show unit of measure only once in a base unit of measure (row).
I want to suppress / hide unit of measure in columns (time scale - fiscal period). If I wasn't using strcture, I could have used NODIM in formula. But I dont think that I can use NODIM in strctuere.
Is there any alternative.

It seems that i have found the answer. I have checked the query properties --> check the option - Display scaling factors for key figures.

Reg unit of measure at the time of batch determination

In the material master for the components base unit of measure is Kg and we have maintained L as unit of isuue and in material BOM and process order we have given component UOM as L, but at the time of batch determination we are getting qty in kGS,
Since in process order we have given UOM as L we should get it as L,
What is to be done to get it in L, please advice step by step

At the time batch determination system will prapose qty in base unit of measure only. Yo ucan not change their as KG.
Only by time of issue you can use your alternate UOM i.e.L

Price unit of measure

Dear SD Conultants,
the base unit of measure is M2 and the sales unit of measure is CAR so when I create a price cindition recored the system automatically determing the condition unit as CAR which is the sales unit of measure but what i want is that the sustem automatically determins the condition unit as M2 which is the base unit of measure.

Hi,
Not possible to create BOM by item material with alt unit of measure.
If you want to use other UOM in production, use issue unit in work scheduling view.
If you want to procure use order unit in purchasing view.
For selling use sale unit in sales view.
