... in Roundcube email list since upgrading firefox for long entries

Islandnet.com uses Roundcube for its webmail client and up until the most recent Firefox update if a subject line for example was too long for the subject column it would display as much of the subject as it could in the space provided.
Since the firefox updates it now substitutes ... for long subjects.
I am going to submit the same request to roundcube development as they may be able to make a change on Roundcube to resolve it but its only since more recent Firefox updates that this has occured, Seemed to be fine of 3.6.x yersions.

Hi papapinous ,
You should take a look at this article that discusses some of the issues with the latest build of Firefox.
There is some information in there that should help you to resolve your issue. Luckily, it is a very easy fix.
Hopefully this helps!

• Since upgrade FireFox no longer opens with last session, how do you this version 4?

Previously when using Firefox 3.6 I could have multiple tabs open and when I closed the browser, the next time I opened Firefox it would reopen the same tabs.

• How do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?

Well that's the question - how do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?
Could someone tell me what's the simplest way using iWeb to create an interactive option
for users to enter their email address and the info be forwarded to me so I can add to an
email list?
It would be great if, since I'm using a Mac computer & iWeb, there was a way to have the
submitted emails automatically added to a group in my Mac Addressbook.
I got this MacBook Pro in Sept 2010 so I believe that's iWeb '08 I'm using.
Anyway I'm thinking there should be a way to do this with some system involving an HTMK
Widget and an email account.
By the way this is for hosting through a 'real server', not MobileMe (which I plan to get later
when I can afford it).
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Mark

Website forms require some code in a snippet and a formmail.php script on the server to process the form and send the info to the required email address. You can do all this when you switch to a "real" server.
In the meantime you can use a form  or marketing service or, better still, an application like MailShoot which generates the form, handles the database and sends out the bulk emails.

• Since upgrading Firefox, it no longer accepts URLs in the URL bar - it works if I have a bookmark, a link or from History, but not if I enter or paste a URL.

Firefox 33.0.2 on Windows 8.1 64 bit. Since upgrading Firefox, it no longer accepts URLs in the URL bar - it works if I have a bookmark, a link or from History, but not if I enter or paste a URL and hit <enter>, in which case nothing happens at all.
I have found that issue reported for Ubuntu (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1011935?esab=a&as=aaq) but not for Windows. The solution there to change the keyboard is not feasible since it's a laptop with a built-in keyboard.
I did not have this issue with FF 28 (I finally upgraded because I was getting BSODs) and I don't have this issue with any other Browser on same platform.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
* Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

• Binary files won't open since I upgraded Firefox for my mac.

Ever since I've updated my Firefox for my mac, I can't open Binary files. Example: When I click on an email attachment a window opens - You have chosen to open
"File Name"
which is a: Binary File
from: http:/where.ever
Would you like to save this file?
When I chose "save file" my "downloads" window would pop up but the file would not be there.
I was able to remedy that problem to the point at which the file would show up in the "downloads" window but when I attempted to open the file I would get:
! Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview
doesn't recognize.
So far this has happened with all Binary files I have attempted to open since my Firefox update.
Never had this problem before.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I updated Firefox

Exactly the same problem. It doesn't happen with Safari. Seeking help before I abandon Firefox!

• Since upgrade Firefox opens in wrong monitor window.

Since upgrading yesterday, Firefox ALWAYS opens on Monitor 1 instead of Monitor 2. I have DELETED all add-ons and plug-ins. I have minimized, maximized, moved from Monitor 1 to Monitor 2 without maximizing or minimizing, and Firefox ALWAYS opens in Monitor 2. I'm running Mac OSX Lion. There were no issues until the Firefox upgrade yesterday. GRRRRR!

unfortunately this is a regression in firefox 12 on mac os x that has been reported here in the forums quite few times. there are already some bugs filed for the issue & hopefully it will be resolved in one of the upcoming releases (although judging from the bugs' stati there isn't much progress yet).

• Flash plugin will not install since upgrading Firefox

Since upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, my Flash plug-in no longer works and after repeated attempts to download and install (both the manual Flash installer, and by visiting pages like Youtube which prompt installation) nothing is working. It's a frustrating loop that gets me nowhere and I've spent hours now uninstalling Flash, uninstalling Firefox, reading through forums etc. and I am getting no help aside from some suggestions to just give up and use Chrome, which is working with Flash just as well as it ever did. I can't understand why it seems like many people are facing this issue, yet there is no apparent fix to be found.

1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
Adobe Flash - Plugin version. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure firefox.exe is closed, <br />
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

• TS3899 Email problem since upgrading to IOS6

Since upgrading my iPad to IOS6, I can no longer download Email from my ISP.  I checked settings and they appear to be the same on another device running IOS5 (and works fine.)  I any ideas on setting quirks that I may be missing?

Have just read some other threads, and it suggested deleting then reinstalling my gmail account, which worked.
Thanks!

• Email problems since upgrading to ios6 - please help!

• Cannot upgrade Firefox for OSX 10.8.3

I have letest iMac running OSX 10.8.3. I get notifications to upgrade my Firefox to the latest version but when I try to do it I get a "Software Update Window" which says "Downloading Firefox" and "Connecting to the update server....", the bue line keeps running from left to right but nothing happens.
If I try to do a manual update I am told my current version is 19.0.2 and that "you are currently on the release update channel". If I click on "check for updates" it tells me that updates are available at www.firefox.com. If I go there I am on a Firefox for Android page and at a dead end as to what to do............
Please advise.

If there are problems with updating or with the permanently then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
*Firefox 21.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application (e.g. open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Installing+Firefox+on+Mac
Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data when you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

• Since upgrade, preferences no longer "stick"

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I've noticed that at least some of my preferences no longer "stick". In particular, Expose: I have four hot corners each requiring the shift key to activate, but it keeps reverting to the non-shiftkey version. It doesn't matter whether I quick Preferences after making the change or not ... a few minutes later, it's forgotten that I configured the hot corners to require the shift key.
I haven't seen anything in the console about preferences or about expose.

Nope, that didn't work. Came back to my desktop a few hours later and the unwanted preferences are back in play. This is specifically the Expose preferences, but I've noticed some other apps have problems as well (Keynote forgets the preference to skip the theme choose page on startup).
Permissions and file ownership look OK (owned by Howard.Howard or Howard.wheel, most prefs are o=rw).
I opened com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist in Property List Editor and it looks fine as far as I can tell.
Still at a loss!

• Since upgrading Firefox, within Win7, I cannot embed pictures into an email. I can only attach. How can I embed pics...or should I downgrade?

So...within the body of an email, I click on the icon (I think it is a square with a tree in it??) to browse my photos of product images and select one and click OK. With previous versions of FireFox, a picture shows in the email. Now, after upgrading, there is only a broken link error icon. FYI, we are using Network Solutions Webmail and have been using it for several years.

Dude or hot-spur,
Not fishy at all!!!! You really think I would have taken any more of my time to post a bogus rant? We'll no, it is unfortunately all true. I want to hear from anyone who is experiencing such problems not anyone else that wants to put there two cents in. I really don't need anymore hate or negativity. Just people's experiences because I feel like I am the only one having so many problems. Thank you
Yes, I have had some unfortunate bad luck to have so many problems at the same time, but some of them are just things you cannot do on the new OS.
Thank you again

• Since upgrading firefox my tiscali (through Talk talk) email account will not allow me access to my emails saying 'You have undefined new mails in your inbox' and will not open the page. it works on Internet Explorer.

It thinks there is no information there! If I revert to 3.6 how long will security be maintained. At the moment I am opening Mozilla for web browsing but IE for my email account. I am not very PC literate so need simple answers.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 if you set the browser to lie to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums.
Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
Does it work?

• I can't get my yahoo email since upgrading Firefox today.

When I go to yahoo mail there is nothing there. No old, new or filed emails. My yahoo weather plug in is not working now. I am unable to view slideshows on some websites as well as some videos. It is getting to where I am afraid to update firefox because I can count on new problems.

Hello there, Tak0110.
It sounds like you've already setup your yahoo mail account and just want to read your mail. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for when an application isn't functioning as expected:
iOS: Understanding multitasking
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4211
If an app doesn't respond to your input, or doesn't perform as expected, do the following, testing after each step:
Check for app updates.
Force the app to close.
Restart your device.
Update your iOS device.
Learn more about troubleshooting apps.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
