In SA540 Syslog Summary is empty

Syslog Summary is empty and no log sended to syslog server !! i don't understand it's worked verry well and suddently i have this problem

Best if you raise a ticket with Cisco SBSC and raise your concerns/issues with them and get the to forward them onto the development team. That way it will at least be past on to the relevant team instead of hoping they will read this thread.

  • LMS 3.2 - Syslog Config fetch not working

    Hello,
    the syslog config fetch on my LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.0 is not working.
    I get syslog messages from devices and the count in the syslog collector status is okay.
    But in the syslog message summary in device center the count is not getting higher with every message.
    And the config fetch is not working.
    I changed the logging level in the collector-properties to "debug" and got the following messages for a device which I want to fetch:

  • How do I add a XAML page to a Universal App?

    I created a new Blank App. Everything works as it should. Now I want to add a new page. This is the wrong way I'm doing it:
    First, I add a new Blank Page to the Windows Project
    foo.xml.cs
    namespace testapp
    /// <summary>
    /// An empty page that can be used on its own or navigated to within a Frame.
    /// </summary>
    public sealed partial class foo : Page
    public foo()
    this.InitializeComponent();
    Then I add the same class name to the Shared project
    foo.cs
    namespace ZUMOAPPNAME
    class foo
    I modify foo.cs to
    namespace testapp
    public sealed partial class foo
    public void shared()
    win();
    And then add a method to foo.xaml.cs to make it
    namespace testapp
    /// <summary>
    /// An empty page that can be used on its own or navigated to within a Frame.
    /// </summary>
    public sealed partial class foo : Page
    public foo()
    this.InitializeComponent();
    public void win()
    shared();
    The win method can call the shared method.
    However, for the shared method, the compiler gives me this error:
    The name 'win' does not exist in the current context
    What's the proper way to add a new page?

    Hi Greg,
    Take a look at my blog entry
    Strategies for sharing code in XAML-based Universal apps
    As Magnus notes, all parts of a partial class need to be in the same namespace to be part of the same class. ZUMOAPPNAME.foo and testapp.foo are unrelated classes.
    It's not clear exactly what you're trying to do here, but a common pattern is to have different Xaml for the Windows and WindowsPhone projects but to share data. A good way to do that is to create the new page with the same name (for example: "foo")
    in both the Windows and WindowsPhone projects. This will add a foo.xaml and foo.xaml.cs file in each and will define the foo class in both foo.xaml.cs files.
    You can then add a foo.cs file in the shared project with your shared functions:
    Shared/Foo.cs:
    namespace testapp
    public sealed partial class foo
    public void shared()
    do_shared_stuff();
    do_plat_specific_stuff();
    And call it from the platform specific functions:
    Windows\foo.xaml.cs:
    namespace testapp
    /// <summary>
    /// An empty page that can be used on its own or navigated to within a Frame.
    /// </summary>
    public sealed partial class foo : Page
    public foo()
    this.InitializeComponent();
    shared();
    public void do_platform_specific_stuff()
    // do windows stuff
    You can use this to mix and match as much as you'd like. If you have very straigtforward UI you may be able to copy the entire .Xaml and .Xaml.cs into the shared directory or you may have platform specific Xaml but share the Xaml.cs file. In most cases you'll
    have a mix of platform specific xaml and code and shared code.

  • How to create a file in application data local folder which is not hidden in windows store app?

    I want to create a log file in ApplicationData local folder.
         m_StorageFile = await ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder.CreateFileAsync(m_Name.Replace(" ", "_") + ".log",
                              CreationCollisionOption.OpenIfExists);
    First time when my app is launched, the file gets created and logs are written.
    When I close my app, and re run the app once again, the log file that was created is now hidden and when i try to call
    the code :    m_StorageFile = await ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder.CreateFileAsync(m_Name.Replace(" ", "_") + ".log",
                              CreationCollisionOption.OpenIfExists);

  • Custom MediaStreamSource and Memory Leaks During SampleRequested

    Greetings,
    I have a nasty memory leak problem that is causing me to pull my hair out.
    I'm implementing a custom MediaStreamSource along with MediaTranscoder to generate video to disk. The frame generation operation occurs in the SampleRequested handler (as in the MediaStreamSource example). No matter what I do - and I've tried a
    ton of options - inevitably the app runs out of memory after a couple hundred frames of HD video. Investigating, I see that indeed GC.GetTotalMemory reports an increasing, and never decreasing, amount of allocated RAM.
    The frame generator in my actual app is using RenderTargetBitmap to get screen captures, and is handing the buffer to MediaStreamSample.CreateFromBuffer(). However, as you can see in the example below, the issue occurs even with a dumb allocation
    of RAM and no other actual logic. Here's the code:
    void _mss_SampleRequested(Windows.Media.Core.MediaStreamSource sender, MediaStreamSourceSampleRequestedEventArgs args)
    if ( args.Request.StreamDescriptor is VideoStreamDescriptor )
    if (_FrameCount >= 3000) return;
    var videoDeferral = args.Request.GetDeferral();
    var descriptor = (VideoStreamDescriptor)args.Request.StreamDescriptor;
    uint frameWidth = descriptor.EncodingProperties.Width;
    uint frameHeight = descriptor.EncodingProperties.Height;
    uint size = frameWidth * frameHeight * 4;
    byte[] buffer = null;
    try
    buffer = new byte[size];
    // do something to create the frame
    catch
    App.LogAction("Ran out of memory", this);
    return;
    args.Request.Sample = MediaStreamSample.CreateFromBuffer(buffer.AsBuffer(), TimeFromFrame(_FrameCount++, _frameSource.Framerate));
    args.Request.Sample.Duration = TimeFromFrame(1, _frameSource.Framerate);
    buffer = null; // attempt to release the memory
    videoDeferral.Complete();
    App.LogAction("Completed Video frame " + (_FrameCount-1).ToString() + "\n" +
    "Allocated memory: " + GC.GetTotalMemory(true), this);
    return;
    It usually fails around frame 357, with GC.GetTotalMemory() reporting 750MB allocated.
    I've tried tons of work-arounds, none of which made a difference. I tried putting the code that allocates the bytes in a separate thread - no dice.  I tried Task.Delay to give the GC a chance to work, on the assumption that it just had no time
    to do its job. No luck.
    As another experiment, I wanted to see if the problem went away if I allocated memory each frame, but never assigned it to the MediaStreamSample, instead giving the sample (constant) dummy data. Indeed, in that scenario, memory consumption stayed
    constant. However, while I never get an out-of-memory exception, RequestSample just stops getting called around frame 1600 and as a result the transcode operation never actually returns to completion.
    I also tried taking a cue from the SDK sample which uses C++ entirely to generate the frame. So I passed the buffer as a Platform::Array<BYTE> to a static Runtime extension class function I wrote in C++.
    I won't bore you with the C++ code, but even directly copying the bytes of the array to the media sample using memcpy still had the same result! It seems that there is no way to communicate the contents of the byte[] array to the media sample without
    it never being released.
    I know what some will say: the difference between my code and the SDK sample, of course, is that the SDK sample generates the frame _entirely_ in C++, thus taking care of its own memory allocation and deallocation. Because I want to get
    the data from RenderTargetBitmap, this isn't an option for me. (As a side note, if anyone knows if there's a way to get the contents of an RT Window using DirectX, that might work too, but I know this is not a C++ forum, so...). But more importantly,
    MediaStreamSource and MediaStreamSample are managed classes that appear to allow you to generate custom frames using C# or other managed code. The MediaStreamSample.CreateFromBuffer function appears to be tailored for exactly what I want. But there appears
    to be no way to release the buffer when giving the bytes to the MediaStreamSample. At least none that I can find.
    I know the RT version of these classes are new to Windows 8.1, but I did see other posts going back 3 years discussing a similar issue in Silverlight. That never appears to have been resolved.
    I guess the question boils down to this: how do I safely get managed data, allocated during the SampleRequested handler, to the MediaStreamSample without causing a memory leak? Also, why would the SampleRequested handler just stop getting called
    out of the blue, even when I artificially eliminate the memory leak problem?
    Thanks so much for all input!

    Hi Rob -
    Thanks for your quick reply and for clarifying the terminology.
    In the Memory Usage test under Analyze/Performance and Diagnostics (is that what you mean?) it's clear that each frame of video being created is not released from memory except when memory consumption gets very high. GC will occasionally kick in, but eventually
    it succumbs.
    Interestingly, if I reduce the frame size substantially, say 320x240, it never runs out of RAM no matter how many frames I throw at it. The Memory Usage test, however, shows the same pattern. But this time the GC can keep up and release the RAM.
    After playing with this ad nauseum,  I am fairly convinced I know what the problem is, but the solution still escapes me. It appears that the Transcoder is requesting frames from the MediaStreamSource (and the MediaStreamSource is providing them via
    my SampleRequested handler) faster than the Transcoder can write them to disk and release them. Why would this be happening? The MediaStreamSource.BufferTime property is - I thought - used to prevent this very problem. However, changing the BufferTime seems
    to have no effect at all - even changing it to ZERO doesn't change anything. If I'm right, this would explain why the GC can't do its job - it can't release the buffers I'm giving to the Transcoder via SampleRequested because the Transcoder won't give them
    up until it's finished transcoding and writing them to disk. And yet the transcoder keeps requesting samples until there's no more memory to create them with.
    The following code, which I made from scratch to illustrate my scenario, should be air-tight according to everything I've read. And yet, it still runs out of memory when the frame size is too large.
    If you or anyone else can spot the problem in this code, I'd be thrilled to hear it. Maybe I'm omitting a key step with regard to getting the deferral? Or maybe it's a bug in the back-end? Can I "slow down" the transcoder and force it to release samples
    it's already used?
    Anyway here's the new code, which other than App.cs is everything. So if I'm doing something wrong it will be in this module:

    _transcodePositionTicks += _frameDurationTicks;
    _frameCurrent++;
    deferral.Complete();
    Again, I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work. You'll note it mirrors pretty closely the sample in the Windows 8.1 Apps With Xaml Unleashed book (Chapter 14). The difference is I'm feeding the samples to a transcoder rather than a MediaElement (which,
    again should be no issue).
    Thanks again for any suggestions!

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that when you access a https web service, it occurs the “The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channe” error.
    To overcome this error, you need to install the certificate that is used by the web service provider in the server that will be calling the web service.
    Open Microsoft Management Console (Start --> Run      --> mmc.exe);
    Choose File --> Add/Remove Snap-in;
    In the Standalone tab, choose Add;
    Choose the Certificates snap-in, and click Add;
    In the wizard, choose the Computer Account, and then      choose Local Computer. Press Finish to end the wizard;
    Close the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog;
    Navigate to Certificates (Local Computer)
    Choose a store to import:
    If you have the Root CA       certificate for the company that issued the certificate, choose Trusted       Root Certification Authorities;
    If you have the       certificate for the server itself, choose Other People
    Right-click the store and choose All Tasks -->      Import
    Follow the wizard and provide the certificate file you      have;
    Here are some detailed articles for your reference:
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/uploadfile/anavijai/could-not-establish-trust-relationship-for-the-ssltls-secure-channel/

    Hello Jerry,
    Thank you very much for your reply.
    But what about Windows Phone? I am running the same code on´WP 8.1 as a store app, and returns an exception at the same place: the GetResponseCallBack.
    Any workaround? Can I run a code from the app that uses the certificate or at least installs it?
    Thanks a lot.

  • ADF Faces Export - All to CSV dose not export the table correctly

    Hi ,
    I followed the source code of this demo site( http://rcf.us.oracle.com:9008/faces-12.1.2.0.0/faces/components/table.jspx) to create two buttons to export a table to CSV file, one is to export all rows and one is to export the selected rows.
    The problem is the export all will generate a html file which dose not have the table content and the selected one works nicely except when I selected all rows than click export selected, it also generates the same html file as export all. The exception at the log on weblogic server and my source code are as below. Thank you!
    My jsff source code:

  • How to move or swap two GridView items?

    Hi,
    am developing a windows store 8.1 app.
    I have four GridView items in the GridView like the above figure.
    Now i want to swap the GridView Items.
    Now i click on 1(GridView Item) and then later i click on 4(Grid View Item)
    Then both items has to be swap(4 should be replaced by 1 and 1 should be replaced by 4).
    How can i achieve this?
    I don't wanna use  CanReorderItems="True" AllowDrop="True" CanDragItems="True" these properties to swap.
    Any help please?

  • CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 - some questions

    Hello community,
    I would like to ask some questions about CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1.
    We are using for a few days, and I can't set some request in the system. I hope someone could help me to customize the CW as I would like to use it.
    - We have some Catalyst 6500s, and between them there are Etherchannels. CiscoWorks sends us email because HighUtilization, and it relies on a Gi interface. I read that CW doesn't support etherchannels, is this true.
    - I would like to receive email notifications about errdisabled state, etc. I know this is dome by RME, not DFM. The CiscoWorks server acts as Syslog server, too, and it collects the syslogs. I see in the Syslog summary, that the device sends to CW the syslog, but I can't receive email. I did an automated actions, (Monitor-Syslog-Automated actions), I defined the parameters (Facility: *, Sub-facility: *, Severity: 2, Mnemonic: PSECURE_VIOLATION, Description: *), but CW doesn't send me an email.
    - I would like to customize interface threshould parameters per device. We have some router with Tunnel utilization 90%, but it's okay because we have a 10Mbit line for the external site. But when our distribution switch ethernet utilization would be 90%, it would be critical. Where can I set these parameters per device/interface?
    Thank you for your help in advance.
    Ferenc KURIS

    If you go to  Monitoring > Fault Settings > setup > fault device details
    Select the device click view and click the device to open the detailed device view.
    There you may see the tu interface under interfaces and set it to managed.
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • Universal app on Windows Phone 10 black screen

    Hello,
    I received strange feedback that my application has some problems on Windows Phone 10. I can't test this because I don't have any Win10 devices. Can anyone check this app:
    https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/instabullet/28cffcfa-4568-45e5-820d-fb761b408bdd?signin=true
    I have no idea where is the problem. After application starts it loads WebView with login page and on Win10 it is only black screen - at least one user has this problem with Lumia 635. Anyone had similiar problems? It is said that Universal app should work
    on Win10 if they work on Win 8.1.

    It's a simple page with WebView, frameworks used are Unity, MVVM light.

  • Unable to recieve any logs from Sun machine....

    Hi,
    I'm using Sun Solaris v10 and i have problem in receiving logs from sun machine. The syslog server is my windows which i want my sun machine to sends logs to (windows machine is ALIVE on default port 514).
    I have edited the syslog.conf file as:-
    t100: Unknown terminal type
    I don't know what kind of terminal you are on - all I have is 't100'.
    [Using open mode]
    "/etc/syslog.conf" 42 lines, 1098 characters
    #ident  "@(#)syslog.conf        1.5     98/12/14 SMI"   /* SunOS 5.0 */

    # syslog configuration file.
    # This file is processed by m4 so be careful to quote (`') names
    # that match m4 reserved words.  Also, within ifdef's, arguments
    # containing commas must be quoted.
    *.err;kern.notice;auth.notice                   /dev/sysmsg
    *.err;kern.debug;daemon.notice;mail.crit        /var/adm/messages
    *.alert;kern.err;daemon.err                     operator
    *.alert                                         root

    # sent to the loghost machine, un-comment out the following line:

    mail.debug                      ifdef(`LOGHOST', /var/log/syslog, @loghost)

    auth.* @192.168.50.253
    *.debug @192.168.50.253
    *.* @192.168.50.253
    # non-loghost machines will use the following lines to cause "user"
    # log messages to be logged locally.
    ifdef(`LOGHOST', ,
    user.err                                        /dev/sysmsg
    user.err                                        /var/adm/messages
    user.alert                                      `root, operator'
    user.emerg                                      *
    )I even have made en entry at /etc/hosts which is given as:-
    *192.168.50.253 asad loghost*
    All this but my syslog server remains empty of any logs yet.
    Is there a way where i could explicitly make Sun machine to generate logs by invoking some methods......as for now its taking for ever to generate logs by the machine.
    Please rectify this problem as I have reached a dead-end making sense of the logging mechanism proposed by the sun machine.

    Try replacing any space characters in the lines you added to syslog.conf with tabs.

  • Create ListView ItemTemplate programmatically/dynamically

    Hi,
    here is my problem:
    I have a ListView control on my xaml page. But the data item structure is different from on item to another. Sometimes i need a Grid with 4 columns, sometimes with 5, sometimes with 6. So my idea was to dynamically create the data template and change the
    ColumnDefinitions programmatically . But i don´t find a way to do it. I come from the HTML/JS Windows App Devolpment side, and there it is relatively easy to do such things ...

    try this:
    <Grid>
    <ListView x:Name="listview">
    <ListView.ItemContainerStyle >
    <Style TargetType="ListViewItem">
    <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch" />
    </Style>
    </ListView.ItemContainerStyle>
    <ListView.ItemTemplate >
    <DataTemplate >
    <StackPanel >
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding GroupName}"/>
    <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Items}" Background="Blue" >
    <ListView.ItemsPanel >
    <ItemsPanelTemplate>
    <WrapGrid Orientation="Vertical" MaximumRowsOrColumns="1"/>
    </ItemsPanelTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemsPanel>
    <ListView.ItemTemplate >
    <DataTemplate >
    <Border BorderBrush="Yellow" BorderThickness="2" Width="24" >
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding Data}" FontSize="18" Foreground="White" />
    </Border>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemTemplate>
    </ListView>
    </StackPanel>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListView.ItemTemplate>
    </ListView>
    </Grid>
