  • Training and Event Management (PE) - What does PE stand for?

    Hi
Re: Training and Event Management (PE)
Can someone tell me what (PE) stands for?
I have had a look at the documentation on SAP Help but cannot see what this stands for.
I want to use this in the naming convention in my role stategy but need to understand what this means.
    Does anyone know?
    Thanks
    Charnaine

    Hmmm... the plot thickens...
Perhaps if we look into the context where this abbreviation is used, then it would give a hint.
    For example:
"training evidence in PE" => Personnel Education
"attendance recorded in PE" => Personnel Events
"will result in PE" => Personnel Execution
According to [PE-RPL|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/77/bff8ab4a2911d182b80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm] it is a bit of a mix of the first two.

  • What does IDES Stands for?

    Dear,
Can anybody give me the correct answer for the below.....
    IDES:International Demonstration and Education System
                                    ( OR )
IDES : Internet data evaluation system.
    which one is correct...
    Thanx & Regards
    Mohammad Nabi

    Hi,
IDES stands for Internet Demonstration and Evaluation System
SAP IDES is a normal R/3 but with lots of DEMO data.
The system that contains several sample companies typifying relevant business processes. It is simple to use and has a variety of master and transaction data, and is used for demos, online/classroom training, and presentations. Potential customers use IDES to trial and test software via Internet.
SAP IDES – the "Internet Demonstration and Evaluation System" in the R/3 System, represents a model company. It consists of an international group with subsidiaries in several countries. IDES contains application data for various business scenarios that can be run in the SAP System. The business processes in the IDES system are designed to reflect real-life business requirements, and have access to many realistic characteristics. IDES uses easy-to-follow business scenarios to show you the comprehensive functions of the R/3 System. The focal point of IDES, however, is not the functionality itself, but the business processes and their integration.
IDES not only covers the Logistics area, but also Financials, and Human Resources. It demonstrates how the R/3 System is able to support practically all types of industries, from discrete production through to process industries, from engineering-to-order to repetitive manufacturing. However, IDES is not a sector-oriented model company. The individual processes are based on practice-oriented data for sectors such as Retailing or Banking. The IDES group manufactures products as diverse as elevators, motorcycles, and paints.
IDES is managed by SAP just as any regular business enterprise. SAP regularly updates the IDES data (master data, transaction data, and customizing). IDES also carry out period-end closing and plan with different time-horizons. Transaction data are generated to ensure that the information systems in all areas have access to realistic evaluation data. IDES are constantly implementing new, interesting business scenarios to highlight the very latest functions available in the R/3 System. New functions are represented and documented by IDES scenarios.
Above all, IDES shows you the possibilities of the integrated applications in the SAP System. IDES  cover all aspects of a business enterprise, including Human Resources, Financial Accounting, Product Cost Planning, Overhead Management, Profitability Analysis, Planning, Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Production, and much, much more. IDES  have also integrated document administration and third-party CAD systems within the IDES system. This means that you can call up and display external documents, or access CAD drawings.
IDES shows you how the R/3 System supports production processes, the supply chain, and the efficient usage of global resources. Or perhaps you would like to increase your understanding of just-in-time-production or the integration of the electronic KANBAN system in an MRP II environment? IDES provides the ideal way to learn about areas such as Product Cost Controlling, Activity-Based Costing, or integrated Service Management and Plant Maintenance. How to manage high inflation is just one of the ever-growing number of IDES business scenarios that you can choose from.
    Reward points if helpful.

  • What does ESA stands for ? and where it is use

    Hi,
What does ESA stands for ? and where it is use ?
    Thanx

    Hi
ESA is enterprise Service Oriented Architecture.
This is a new strategic direction in which SAP AG is planning to take all industries to. They have developed SAP Netweaver for this. SAP as such is a great application but JAVA is very user friendly. In past integration of web applications was not so good with SAP.
With SAP Netweaver ABAP and JAVA gets integrated great and hence we have seamless integration between SAP and webapplicaation. This also helps to give great USER interfae with real time information search on web from SAP.
e.g. tracking information of sales order, invoice etc from web from SAP.
    If helpful, reward accordingly.
    Kind Regards

  • Related with EDIMSG table.what does the field ACTFLAG stand for in EDIMSG.

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone tell me what does the field ACTFLAG flag stand for in EDIMSG table.Does it mean that if the ACTFLAG field = 'X',than the particular release is no more used in SAP.
Because even if I create a partner profile with MATMAS01 as basic type and seg.release in idoc type = '30A'..i am able to receive IDOC's.whereas the ACTFLAG = 'X' for this particular release in EDIMSG table.
Your help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your immediate response.
so you mean that MATMAS01 should not be used as ACTFLAG = 'X' in EDIMSG table.
Than why can we still generate the IDOC's with release no 30A when SAP is not supporting this release.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • What does Cc, Fc and Vc Components stands for?

    Hi,
I wonder ask for NWDI, normally in WebDynpro Components, we can see a few components such as Cc, Fc and Vc.
Does anyone knows what does Cc, Fc and Vc stands for and how do they differentiate from each other? Also how is their relationship with each other?

    Hi,
if your application contains like Cc and Fc and Vc, that must be the webdynpro application developed using the Floor plan manager architecture,
in MVC architecture we have model and the controllers and views,
    but in FPM,
every view have its own component like if you have 4 views in ur application u need to create four webdynpro components with prefix of Vc - vc means Visual entity
Fc stands for BLC - business logic component - it holeds the Model
Cc - configuration component - it will takecare about the navigation b/w the views which are available in different compnents i.e Vc's
mainly in the FPM we used componentization concept to communucate with other components
in the Fpm architecture we need not have out bound and in bound plugs to navigate b/w the views,
May be it will slove your doubt,
go through this link to know abt FPM

  • What does the acronym "PF" stand for in statement "SET PF-STATUS"?

    Hi ABAP Experts,
I've been wondering this for quite a while.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Sandeep, Thomas, Ivan, BreakPoint, Rob and other ABAP experts,
Thanks a lot for your quick response! I've awarded points accordingly.
I tried to search SDN again using keywords "PF Personal Function" and found some posts similiar to mine:
    PF-STATUS
    full form of pf status
It seems that only the ABAP team at SAP AG can give a final answer. For the moment, I think that "PF" most likely stands for "Program Function", not "Personal Function" because the statement SET PF-STATUS deals with the user interface of a program, or "Programmfunktionen" because ABAP keywords are English (though the term "Programmfunktionen" is a lot like "Program Function").
    Regards,
    Bo
