In stalling product key for Quicktime pro

I had quicktime player. I purchased Quick time pro this afternoon. I have a PC with Windows 7. I cannot find where to use the product key to get from quick time player to quicktime pro.

It is the number that Apple sent me yesterday (product key number) when I purchased Quick time Pro.
Okay ... it'll be your name then. The name you enter has to be precisely the same as the one in the email, right down to any honorifics. If there's a Mr in there, you need to enter the Mr ... if there's a full stop after the Mr. you can't just enter Mr (and so on).
Try cutting and pasting the name in the email into the field in the Registration tab. Does the Key register properly now?

2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time.

So, it appears that you will need to purchase another copy of it if you want to install it on another computer.

Invalid key for Quicktime Pro

Okay, I'm feeling pretty irate right now after paying out £20 for a product key which was emailed to me for 'instant access' but doesn't bleeding work... Having followed the simple steps, I pasted in my key and got the message 'invalid key' instead of 'Quicktime Pro 7' or whatever...
Will someone here, or someone at Apple please explain to me how in God's name that can happen!
There was something I needed to do with it before the night is over - yet now obviously I can't and what's more I am 20quid out of pocket!
If someone at Apple is reading, I suggest you call or, at the very least, email me with some form of apology for this situation.

Well, having waited til daybreak to call the support line, I found out that the key alone will not validate the product - you have to enter the name of the person who ordered and paid for it (in this case me) but exactly as they wrote in in the email... I had neglected to put a '.' after 'Mr' and hence the whole thing didn't work. Add the dot, and hey presto...
The guy on the line was very cordial about it but did mention that they get this 'all the time'...
Apple take note... You should make that clearer - especially since my account is in my name - the Mr was selected from a scroll-down menu - and since many people don't even use the dot any more - well it can be confusing...

How do I find the registration key for Quicktime Pro 7?

I bought QT7 in 2005 & following the links in various support documents all take me to dead ends. If I look at order history of my account it only goes back 18 months. There is mention of "downloadable software" section in accounts but that has gone, presumably replaced by the App Store. I am of course running Lion & want to unlock the Pro features on my MacBook Pro.

Sorry, no. We have the same problem of "lost" links to the software purchase history here in the USA. Fortunatally, someone came across this link in the support area and it appears to work for purchases made here at the US online store. However, the article containing the link I posted also states the following:
Outside Canada and the United States
If you purchased a QuickTime Pro key after 13 April 2001, contact the customer service number of The Apple Store . This number is available at the bottom of The Apple Store Web page for each region.
If you purchased a QuickTime Pro key from the QuickTime Web site before 13 April 2001, please consult your email or other records from that period for your key.

Believe others have tried contacting the US Customer Service number but were told to get the information form the Downloadable Software Purchases area for their account which, as we already know, no longer works. (In fact, the Customer Service people did not seem to even know that the old links were missing form our account pages or seem concerned about looking into fixing the problem.) While I don't hold out any hopes that you will fare any better, you can give it a try and at least ask if there is a similar external URL for people in other regions. I personally would also send formal QT feedback regarding the problem.

Apple's word on the subject says:
You can retrieve purchased registration keys with these steps:
Visit the Apple Online Store.
Click "Account" in the upper-right corner.
On the "Your Account" page, click "View Order History".
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Additional Information
You can only retrieve a lost QuickTime Pro key if you purchased it through the Web. In most cases, the key will be identical to the key you lost.
If you purchased your QuickTime Pro upgrade from another source, the key is not available for retrieval and you must purchase another key from The Apple Store.
If you have already tried this and cannot find it, you can only contact the Store and ask them.

Since Windows 8, OEM preinstalled operating systems store and encrypt the product key in the uEFI or BIOS firmware chip. The product key is no longer on the COA sticker to help prevent theft. Whenever you need to reset or reinstall the same operting system on your OEM PC, the product key will automatically be applied and activated. Have you tried running Belarc Advisor? I believe that will show you the product key along with other important information about your system. http://belarc.com/

Hi: All dv6-7xxx models came with W7 64 bit. That is what the license is for (although the product key would also work on a 32 bit OS). You can make your own W7 installation media and use that to reinstall Windows. Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below. Download the applicable version of Windows 7 that is on your product key (Home Premium, Pro, or Ultimate). There is no QuickTime System Preferences pane in 10.6.8 or later.
You enter the registration under the player 7 menu.

When NOWS SBE is installed, customers are required to enter product keys for each of these three products: NOWS SBE, OES, and SLES.
Product keys are normally included with most products when the product is delivered however SLES product keys work a little bit differently. Hello sir, I bought this laptop (Hp pavilion dv6 6115tx Entertainment Notebook)around 4 years ago with preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium Operating system. As you know Microsoft is going to give free upgrade to Windows 10. But the problem is that the product key below my laptop is not much visible. I am unable to identify the product key. Yes, you can use the same product key for 64-bit release too, as SenneVL says. But, kindly note that upgrade across is not supported and you need to perform clean install only. Also, kindly note that the Windows installation must be made in the same PC,
even if different architecture is being used. Otherwise, activation issues will arise.
Multiple architecture is supported in multiboot, so Windows 32-bit and 64-bit can be installed as multiboot environment, parallely.
