In Store Pre Order Payment

Can I pay off a pre order before the title is released?

Hi jayxarr,
That’s a great question! Pre-ordering games in-store comes with the luxury of only needing to put down a deposit of $5 on most video game pre-orders. However, we do know that at times, our customers would like to just pay the deposit in full and be done with it! I’ll gladly clarify the details around deposits on in-store pre-orders at Best Buy.
As zztoluca has stated, the $5 deposit when pre-ordering in-store is only a minimum amount needed to secure your copy of any given game. If you wish to pay the full amount, you should be able to do so at the time of pre-order only. I don’t believe you can add to an existing deposit once the pre-order has been created. Also, for clarification, if you’re a Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) member, you likely won’t see your GCU benefits apply until you pick up the game and fully complete the transaction. GCU benefits usually do not reflect on the pre-order receipt itself.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions and thanks for your inquiry about pre-ordering at Best Buy!
Cheers,

  • In-store pre-order and pick up

I just had a quick question regarding pre-orders. I pre-ordered a game IN-STORE, and I was just wondering where I should go to pick it up when it releases at the store, customer service pick up, or at a register.
I've never really pre-ordered anything not online so I just want to be prepared.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi InedibleFood,
I just wanted to jump in and basically mirror what enuf already said. The Customer Service counter would usually be where you’d go to pick up an in-store pre-order. However, I have seen some stores utilize the In-store Pickup area. But, the Customer Service counter would likely be your best bet!
Thanks for pre-ordering your games at Best Buy.

  • Call of duty advanced warfare xbox one in store pre order

I dont have a card at the moment but I would still like to pre order the console so I was wondering if i can pre order it in store
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey villan303,
You can, indeed, pre-order the Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundle at your local store! A deposit will be required to reserve your console, but for full details I'd encourage you to speak with an on-site gaming specialist or rep at the store's customer service desk.
Thanks for your interest in pre-ordering with us!

  • Singapore online store pre-order doesn't work

So this seems odd, Apple have a link for pre-order in the SG store, and you can select the colour and model, but then you have no further option after that, you just cannot pre-order at all. Why would Apple allow this to happen? It's been that way since they relaunched the store on Friday. Lame.

    Can anyone help me?

  • In-Store Pre-Ordering

Just visited my local bestbuy [Store 437] and I pre-ordered my iPad 3. Anyone know how long it takes? I know it's dependent on Apple, but how often do Bestbuy stores get shipment from Apple, especially during these times?
It seems like the 32GB Wifi is sold out everywhere!

    Hello again CarGuy1,
First of all, thanks for reserving your copy of Sniper Elite III: Afrika with us and for being a My Best Buy Gamers' Club Unlocked member! I haven't personally pre-ordered anything in quite some time, but I fully understanding how exciting it can be to play a brand-new game on its release date. The GCU discount on new video game software is equally awesome, especially if you're looking to purchase multiple new titles.
Although BestBuy.com is generally a good indicator whether or not individual locations will have a given product in stock, we encourage customers to contact their preferred store directly to confirm product availability prior to making a potentially unnecessary trip. Pre-ordered items should also be reserved by in-store personnel as soon as they're listed as available, but it'd be difficult to determine why any confusion would've occurred at the time of your visit without being present on-site. I'd be disappointed too if I found myself in a similar situation, especially if it's a lengthy trip to and from the store.
Have you been able to pick up your copy of the game yet? Are you still in need of assistance?

  • In Store Pre Order

This has been an on going problem that I hope can get fixed. I went in store today. The games I wanted were finally on the videogame kiosk machine to order. Print out all the games I want. Go to the counter and none of the games work. I couldn't pre order not one game I wanted. By the time the system gets fixed of course they will be sold out and I will be out of luck. The games were Rock Band 4. The Division Collectors Edition and Fallout Pipboy edition. Fallout just appeared on the machine and of course it's sold out. Can I get some help with this please so I can pre order in store

    Hello neo2k9-
We appreciate that you came to your local Best Buy store for your game pre-orders, but I’m sorry to hear about the disappointment you experienced when you weren’t actually able to reserve these games.
Generally, collectors/limited editions of games are not available for pre-order in-store.  Regrettably, there are occasions where these titles accidently get listed on the touchscreen kiosk when they shouldn’t.  In those cases, you usually don’t find out until you get to the register and the store can’t actually do the pre-order.
As of right now, we have not started taking pre-orders for Rock Band 4, but hopefully this should be up soon.  Unfortunately, we are now sold out on pre-orders for Fallout 4: Pip-Boy Edition and Tom Clancy’s The Division Collector’s Edition is only available for pre-order to ship to your home.
I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you.

  • Tamriel Unlimited Imperial Edition: In Store Pre-Order PS4

So after noticing the collectors edition was sold out online I went into my local store and had them check the SKU and they said they could pre-order it in the store. I put some money down and get my pre-order. My question is does BestBuy tend to pre-order stuff like this without knowing if they will have stock or what?
He said he checked and it looked like everything looked good.

    Hello JetBlackPanda-
Welcome Back!  I’m glad to hear that the issues you encountered with The Witcher 3 didn’t prevent you from pre-ordering another game with Best Buy!  While I haven’t played an MMORPG in a while, Elder Scrolls Online certainly seems to have a loyal following!
As I understand it, if the store was able to complete the pre-order in their system, they should receive the game when it releases.  When stores try to get creative to find a way to push the pre-order through, sometimes things can get dicey.  Based on my review of your pre-order receipt, it appears that the store did it correctly.
    I hope that this helps!

  • Pre Order Payment

I was wondering if anyone new if you can charge a pre order to your account or if you have to pay out right for it? If you do have to pay out right for a pre order can you charge it to the account after it is released?

I see the awesome new Windows phones have caught your eye Drowens. In most cases, the phones can be billed directly to your wireless account as long as your account is eligible and the total does not exceed $400. If you do chose to pay outright for a phone, your credit card will not be billed until the order is being shipped. You can start your order at http://solutions.vzwshop.com/windowsphone and after logging into your account, you'll get a chance to see if your account qualifies to have the device billed to the account.

  • Re: Pre-Order Payment & Refund

This seems strange. I preordered something releasing in two months , I was charged and now it has been put back into my account. Does this mean it will come back out and repeat?

Welcome to the Best Buy Forums!
If this is your first pre-order with Best Buy, I can understand why you might be confused about seeing your funds back on your credit card.  Fortunately, I can illuminate this mystery quite easily!
When you initially pre-order a product on BestBuy.com, we will place an authorization on your credit card for the amount of the purchase, to make sure that you have the funds necessary to pay for it.  Generally, that authorization will drop off after 3-5 business days depending on your credit card company or bank.  Once the order is ready to ship, we will then charge your card for the purchase amount.  You can find more information on our Conditions of Use for BestBuy.com here.
    I hope that this helps!

  • Pre-Order Payment & Refund

I pre-ordered a tablet that has not been released yet, I did not think I would be charged until Best Buy had the unit and could guarantee me the unit.  You can imagine my surprise when the total came out immediately! (over 2 weeks away from the expected release date!)  I was wondering if anyone had any information as to how long it would take to receive a refund if I canceled my pre-order about an hour and a half after placing it?

It is possible the charges you were seeing was an authorization to confirm you have the credit, not an actual bill. This happens a lot with pre-order games.
I am not affiliated with Best Buy nor have I ever been employed by Best Buy. All of my thoughts and posts are of my own opinion and personal experience.

  • My Super smash bros Wii U pre order because i pre ordered in store and placed a $5 deposit

Let me share what I was told when I arrived at best buy store. By the way I will file a complaint to corporate about this and will see about filing it to better business bureau... I pre ordered my smash brothers bundle in store ( couldn't do it online because there are issues with my account for a year now and after numerous calls to fix it which I have been given so many ticket numbers, best buy just cant fix their own mistakes). I arrive at the store to pick up my pre order and the employee responds with a dissapointing tone"don't tell me you preordered the bundle." the employee just walks back and forth. She then asks her co-worker which she then tells me "we don't have your preorder...we only filled orders for the people who preordered online and fully paid the game." I asked for a manager and told him this is the second time best buy has messed up my pre orders and provide me with poor service. He then says that they only filled the orders from online purchases and who paid in full which makes me feel like I didn't matter only because I placed a $5.00 deposit to guarantee my copy.overall I received poor customer service, he did not own the situation and didn't offer at least some type of compensation to a "former" loyal elite customer. In general, best buy has given me poor service throughout the year by not fixing my ability to order online for a year, messing up my pre order of Mario kart 8 by charging me for the free $10 gift card which was supposed to be free for pre ordering the game and then refusing to give me a refund for the $10 charge, and finally telling me that even though I pre ordered, because I didn't pay the bundle in full I don't get my copy at all... Not even a phone call, common courtesy to notify me. This is it! Best buy will never get business from me and I will never recomment it to anyone. Amazon on the other hand does everything right, and owns the situations and strive to make things right.Amazon is now my go to for shopping all electronic and entertainment needs. Amazon even allowed me to place a new order for the bundle and will receive it next week versus best buy saying " we don't know when we will get them." In short I cancelled my pre order from best buy and took my business elsewhere. Finally when I asked the supervisor for corporate's contact information, he refused to provide it. Now I need to check online and hunt down that information

    Hello redrevolver4,
Thank you for pre-ordering from Best Buy, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.  We as moderators on the forum work at the corporate office, and I am happy to talk to you today.
Reading through your description of events I can certainly understand why you would be disappointed.  It is not our intent to leave any customers out when they pre-order a product with us.  While we are working to fulfill our in-store pre-orders that were not yet completed, I can also understand your desire to cancel the order and go where you could get an order shipped out to you.  I am sorry that was not us this time.
I will certainly document your feedback so that we can learn from it and ensure that our stores are adequately equipped to fulfill orders as our first priority, but provide all care and courtesy when things don't go quite as intended.
I did have one more question for you, though, and I will be sending you a private message with that.  Please watch for that message from me shortly.
    Thank you,

  • Pre-order points missing and pre-ordering problems at the store level.

    Hi
During the week of July 6th-July 12 there was an ad for pre-ordering certain movies and getting 100 bonus points for each movie.  On July 12th I pre ordered Rio 2, The Amazing Spiderman 2, and Transformers:AOE (Steelbook edition).  The employee was able to successfully pre-order Rio 2 using the provided in store pre order card but had difficultly pre ordering Spiderman 2 and Transformers.  Rio 2 and Spiderman 2 had set release dates while at that time Transformers did NOT have a release date until recently.  These pre-orders were done in three different transactions.
Picking up Rio 2 on 7/15 was not a problem.  The employee did an exchange in the system.  The 100 bonus points never posted.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 had a lot of problems.  The employee thought I already bought it and picked it up on 7/12 when I went to pick it up on 8/19 (the release date).  At the time of the pre order purchase, there was no announcement of the BB exclusive Magno pack for the same price as the regular blu ray release.  Again the employee did a return/rebuy.  This employee also stated that the employee who processed the pre-orders Spiderman and Transformers did it incorrectly since it looks like she did it as a normal transaction instead of a pre-order.  The points have yet to be posted.
Transformers: AOE (Steelbook edition) now has an official release date of 9/30.  My question is will the system allow for employee to process the pre-order pick up since it is outside of the 45 day window?  I am hoping it won't be but seeing how the employees have been processing pre-orders incorrectly when picking them up I expect problems when doing so.
I have also noticed a price drop for transformers (6760435) from the time I pre-ordered it on 7/12.  Will the employees be able to adjust the price and give me the difference?
Not all stores carry the pre-order cards making this a difficult process for everyone (it takes me on average 30 minutes to pick up 1 pre-order instead of in and out within 5 mins like usual) because someone didn't do it correctly the first time.  So my question is, how should employees process a pre-order if there is NO Pre-Order card in store??  I would love to continue to pre-order at best buy, but am getting tired of having employees screw up my pre-order.

     Hello ITDEFX101,
Pre-ordering your movies during these 100 My Best Buy™ Bonus Point promotions is a great way to ensure that you are able to get your hands on some great movies as soon as possible after release, while simultaneously earning extra points. It is regrettable to hear that your pre-order experience with Rio 2 and The Amazing Spiderman 2 were not as smooth as we strive for these processes to be, and in the end, you state you didn’t even get the bonus points you expected.
Using the information you registered with the forum, I was able to review your pre-orders for all three movies, as well as your My Best Buy™ account. Sadly, it does appear that there may have been some issues with your pre-orders, and I would like to address these with you privately, especially concerning your pre-order for Transformers: Age of Extinction. I am sending you a private message, which you may view once you’ve signed into the forum and clicked the envelope icon in the top right corner of the page.

  • Can't pay off pre-order to join Gamer Club Unlocked in weekly ad?

So I got the Best Buy ad this moring in the paper and saw the "Join Gamers Club Unlocked for $30 when you buy any new game $39.99 or above." Knowing I still had 3 preorders outstanding, I called up the Rewards Zone 866 number and asked them if I would be able to take my preorder in and just pay it in full to satisfy the requirement so I could join. Of course is what I was told and just to take my pre-order receipt into customer service.
I head into Best Buy in Castleton, Indiana (#229) and head to customer service as told with the ad and explain I called the RZ 866 number and they told me to bring it to them. After the lady handling the registered called someone, he told me that it would be no problem and he would just have to cancel my preorder and then to just pull the game card and one of the Gamers Club Unlocked cards and the register would take care of it.
Then that is when everything went South.
I hand the individual the two cards and he proceeds to tell me I could join the GCU for $30 when I buy a game. When I told him I wanted to pay in full for the game he told me I could not do that because "it's two different systems." I explained that I had already spoken to the RZ folks as well as customer service and then he told me "well I should know, I'm the video games guy." I then told him I would just come home and call the RZ folks again, asked for his name and store number which he gave me in a smug tone and I left. As I was walking out the sliding glass doors he said "have a nice day" in a condescending tone. That set me off. I turned and asked the security guy for a manager to complain about the terrible customer service and attitude and the manager was apathetic in helping me. After explaining what I was trying to do, he said he "thought" he could help me. At this point I was overly annoyed so I told him to forget about it and left.
If you look at the add, nowhere does it say you can't pay in full for a preorder game to satisfy the requirement. Obviously it can be done because the folks on the 866 number said it would be no problem and I've seen multiple posts on several video game forums of people doing it at their local store. This is probably the third time in the last year I've had issues with associates at this store on advertised deals. So what gives? Lack of training? Employees that just don't care?
So now my dilemma is do I go to another location to see if they can help me or do I just cancel all of my preorders and find a new retailer?

    Hello Jason,
Enuf is spot-on: since in-store pre-order deposits are not considered to be actual purchases, bundle offers such as our current Gamers' Club Unlocked promotion do not apply. If the title you reserved is released and you pick up your copy while the offer is still in effect, then you would be able to take advantage of the bundle savings during the final sale. Otherwise, you will need to purchase another title $39.99+ to be eligible.
As far as why your thread was moved is concerned, all My Best Buy Gamers' Club-related inquiries -- including those on promotional offers, benefits, and pre-order bonus certificates -- belong in this board. Our In-Store Purchase board is intended as a place for customers to post general policy inquiries, share their in-store experience, and obtain support for existing/prior purchases.
Thanks for your understanding, as well as for taking the time to post!

  • Just noticed a recurring pattern of not being credited my $5 pre-order deposit.

The other day I was going over some of my Best Buy gaming purchases this year through MyBB, and noticed for one game, Project CARS on PS4, I was charged an additional $5 for the pre-order bonus (noted as "POB") which should have been free. I contacted customer support and was told I'd only be able to get a refund w. receipt in-store, and it was up to the store's discretion. As I didn't save a recipt from May, I figured it was a loss and not worth trying to make a case over $5.
Then I noticed something else. As a Gamers Club Unlocked member, all new release $59.99 games go down to $51.35 ($47.99 + tax) when the 20% deduction is applied. When accounting for the $5 deposit to reserve an in-store pre-order, the game should work out to $46.35 after tax if the transaction is processed properly. However, going through new release game pre-orders, I noticed that almost every single game I pre-ordered for in-store pickup this year was processed incorrectly and I was charged $51.35 due to not being credited the depsoit I had already paid. I didn't realize at the time, but now it appears as if has been the case for four pre-order purchases, which when added to the $5 I was charged for the pre-order bonus, works out to a $25 total overcharge. Is there any way to try and get my money back on this at this point or no? As some of these purchases were from months ago, I don't still have the receipt and even if I did, would be past the return window (though this wouldn't be a typical return issue).

    Hi Jay86,
You certainly shouldn’t be running into so many issues with pre-order deposits at your local Best Buy. I’m familiar with hiccups with these in the past, but I haven’t heard anything for quite some time now. Our systems are setup to automatically apply your $5 deposit to the final transaction when a game releases, so this leads me to believe that some of your pre-orders aren’t being fulfilled properly at the store level. I’m very sorry if this has occurred on any of your pre-orders!
Like others have mentioned, your local store should be able to refund any pre-order deposits necessary. We also have the ability to locate previous pre-orders/receipts, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Considering the timeframe here, you may want to ask to speak with someone from your store’s leadership team as well, should you run into any issues.
Please feel free to let us know if you continue to run into issues with this.
    Best regards,

  • Pre-Order games and the GCU

There seems to be 2 options.
Go to a store, print out the ticket, go to the register and pay $5 to hold your copy, or put money down.  Come back and relay on the system to give you the 20% discount.
Order online, get the discount right away, pay in full and have it shipped to you.
Is there an option I am missing somewhere such that I can pre-order online, pay in fulll and then pick it up in store on release day?
I pre-ordered Witcher 3 online, paid in full, and the only option was to get it shipped.

    Hi there bobberuchi-
I’m glad to hear that you joined us on the pre-order train for The Witcher 3!  All aboard the hunt train, choo choo!
It sounds like the store you initially choose had already reached their limit for in-store pre-orders which can happen with some titles, I’m glad to hear that you found a store near your office that still had availability.
I hope you enjoy the game; everything I’ve heard so far is that it’s amazing!
