In the Calendar app in Yosemite, how can I prevent the event's details window to disappear when transferring focus to another app?

When you click on an event to get the full details in a separate window, like a phone number for the meeting, if you move to another app like Skype the details window hides and you cannot look at the comments.
This is kind of annoying.

It's not iDVD that opens when you insert a burned DVD, It's DVD Player. Set the Apple preferences to igonre when inserting a video DVD. You will have to launch DVD Ripper manually and locate and open the VOB folder on the DVD disk.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.

You can also back up iTunes and restore it on your new computer How to back up your media in iTunes , but the iPhone will be erased anyway during the first sync.

How can I prevent sites from opening private windows?

Many websites, such as Moodle (classroom tool) and YouTube try to open certain new content, especially Google-hosted content, in private windows. In may cases, such as YouTube comment panes, there is now way to avoid this, and even if there is I forget sometimes.
Private windows clog up my Recent Windows history, which I depend on for things like keeping my webcomics organized, and cannot be merged into normal windows in order to prevent this. As a result, if I don't want to do a great deal of of tab reorganizing every day, I can't use any of these sites.
Please tell me how to either disable site-opened private windows, or close private windows without them appearing in my Recently Closed Windows list. Better yet, make the latter a permanent part of the browser; a private window that leaves no traces isn't much good when a snooper can simply reopen it.

How can I prevent NULLs from appearing in my HyperTrend graph when restarting DSC engine?

I am continuously logging data to a citadel database using DSC 7.0. Occasionally I need to restart the DSC engine because of a computer reboot, changes to SCF file, etc. Whenever I do this, and then review the data in HDV or with a HyperTrend graph in LV, there is a discontinuity in the traces during the time the DSC engine was not running. Using the cursors, you can see the value during this time is NULL. Generally this is desirable behavior since it indicates that no data was collected during this time period. However, I would like to know if there's setting to just "connect the points" instead of having a NULL in between. The reason is that some memory tags are updated very
infrequently, so the discontinuity appears much longer than just the time the DSC engine was not running. I want to connect the line to make the graph look nicer.

How can I prevent this formating problem (changing fonts, lines etc) when converting PDF to a word document.

I have a big problem when I convert my PDF to a word document, it is a mess. Is there a way to prevent this from happening. Font changes, table and lines formatting of lots of things. I am having to spend time editing and finding all the mistake, deleted the purpose of converting if I have to retype everything.

My old computer crashed. Trying to recover music from iPod. Can transfer music, but not song titles. Titles appear in 4letter mpg formats. What am I doing wrong?

Provided the files were properly tagged then iTunes should pick up the data when the files are imported into the library. The main problem is usually any files in .wav format.

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

As Apple has yet to upgrade iCalendar so I can check off my events as I complete them (no, I do not want to use a task list/reminder list), I want to be able to move my events to my "completed" events calendar as I complete them. If you change anything in a repeating calendar entry it will give you the option of disconnecting it from the series. So may any random change, choose to not change the series.

If you remeber the password to that Apple ID then follow these steps
1 - Make sure you have an email address that is NOT an Apple ID
2 - Go to AppleID.Apple.com
3 - Where it reads Manage Apple ID - Sign in
Once you are signed in want to make sure the email address you are wanting to use is NOT set up as a "Recovery/Rescue" email for this account.
[To check this - Main page where you see Primary ID - below do you see the email address you want to use listed towards the bottom? Yes - Delete / No - Good ./. If made any adjustments "Save" Next on the left select "Password & Security" - Answer your security questions you set up "if you have any" then scroll towards the bottom and check to see if you see the email address you want to use. Yes - Delete / No - Good] <-> Also you can change your password on this page as well. Any adjustments made "Save"
Once this is done go back to the main page where you should read "Primary ID" and change the email address that is showing to the new email address youo want. "Save" Done

In the previous version of Safari, there was a "READER Button" on the right side of the tool bar. This brings up the selected web page in a READER mode all by itself, without the ads, etc.
Are you saying that I can get this function by clicking on the Left side of the Address bar?
When I do that, I get lots of icons, but NOT the READER button.
