In the far left hand column, Devices keeps disappearing. I can get it back by downloading iTunes again but disappears again after I run disk utility.

With a Device plugged in - place your mouse cursor over DEVICES - you should see 'show' or 'hide'. Click on 'show'.

Re: Apple TV "List Page", what do the circles on the far left side column of the page mean. Some are solidly shaded, others are half shaded. I don't know how to interpret them.

The blue dots are supposed to mean the show is un-watched. If you have a half one it mean partailly watched. No dot means it has been watched. They are not reliable though. They seem to suddenly change at random times. Sometimes out of no where whole seasons will show up unwatched out of now where. Or seasons I have not watched will suddenly all lose their dots.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

My Green iPhone 5c "creaks" in the bottom left hand corner, would this be up to get a replacement? And if so, would I be able to get that replacement without AppleCare?

Recently I have noticed that my green iPhone 5c makes a creaking noise when I press in the bottom left hand corner, or sometimes when I press the home button. I was wondering if this would be up for replacement, since I got this around Christmas of 2013. None of us users here can tell you what Apple will do. Apple will examine your phone and if a hardware defect is determined, your phone will be replaced free under warranty.

After preferences have been opened and closed, instead of folding back into the menu bar a grey square stays in the far left hand corner of my screen. This is then replicated on every screen. I can't seem to solve this, any ideas?

After using the preference pane, it does not fold away back into the finder bar but leaves a grey square in the top left corner of the screen. When I switch to another screen within spaces, the grey square still appears.

I have the exact same problem.. I tried disabling all add-ons and I'm only using the default theme... still no change. Whenever I close the preferences window it becomes an obtrusive grey square in the top left corner of the screen. It even obscures other open applications and won't disappear until I quit Firefox...

Install iTunes Folder Watch and set its option to check for dead tracks on startup. This will root out any tracks that are no longer in your folders, and can add any that are in your folders, but not in iTunes.

How can you stop the upgrade that you did on youtube so I can get it back or is there a way to get an app back once you delete it while it is upgrading

Again, all I can say in this Apple forum is that downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

Updated my itouch software, and the entire thing restored . is there a way i can get my "backed-up" files , BACK onto the itouch ?!?

i plugged in my itouch to the computer , and i said that there was a new software update ready . i let it update , the file claimed to be backing everything up . so i let it . a few minutes later my itouch shut down and it took atleast 20minutes to come back on . the entire thing was blank-- as if i'd just purchased it or something . all the while , my computer/itunes screen says that my ipod is being "restored" . i had atleast 1,000 plus songs and about twenty apps on it, as well as pictures . . . sorry if i`m rambling on , it`s just everything i had on my itouch was VERY important and i need to find a way to get them back ... soon .

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other items you will have to get them from where you originally got them. The backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

An authorised repairer might be able to help. The Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage so you will not get a replacement

I get the same thing... no matter what site i try to pull a pdf for IE10, it gives me the black x... if i use chrome it works, but my client does not want to use a different browser.
I followed the guide that Pat posted... nothing worked... I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java, Adobe reader, Adobe flash,.. upgraded to IE11, then back to IE10 due to medical software that is not compatable with IE11...
The kicker is that my Admin profile works just fine.. no issues.. so i know it has something to do with his profile....
