  • I have OSX 10.6.8 and i am told i need 10.7.4 to get the latest version of imovie how do I go about this?

I have an iMac running OSX 10.6.8. I currently have iMovie version 8.0.6 and would like to upgrade iMovie to iMovie 11
I am told I need Mac OSX Version 10.7.4. How do I go about upgrading the operating system.
    Many Thanks

Not so. iMovie 11 works fine with Snow Leopard.
As for upgrading your operating system:
You can purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • HT1420 With the latest version of iTunes, how do you authorize a computer? (Jan 2013)

The help file gives data for a previous version of iTunes Store. There does not seem to be an Advanced button or anything (outside of Support) that points to authorizing a computer.
    Help?

    The same as always.
    Open itunes.
Click the word Store at the top of your computer  screen.
    Click Authorize
The new version is exactly the same as the old one in this respect
    Just as the article says:
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize."

  • How can I export a project on an external drive in the latest version of iMovie?

Before the latest release of iMovie I easily managed to export a project on an external usb drive and re-import such project on a different Mac... In the latest iMovie version, however, I cannot see my drive any more..
So, how can I export a project on an external drive in the latest version of iMovie?
    Thank you in advance

I'm not sure this is the best way, but you could create a new iMovie Library, move your project to that Library, then close the library. Then move the Library to your USB drive. Then, on the other Mac, in iMovie open the Library.

  • What is the latest version of iMovie for MAC and how do I  download it?

What is the latest version of iMovie and how do I download it?  Will is work with MAC OS 10.6.8?

The current version may be obtained at the App Store. If you have an older version installed, then it should be available in Updates. The new version will not work with Snow Leopard.

  • Why does the latest version of iMovie not have an option of sharing with iDVD?

How are you supposed to burn a DVD using the latest version of iMovie? I've always had the option to share to iDVD and now it's not there.

It is there but you don't want to use it as it will degrade the quality of the movie.  Instead use the Share ➙ Media Browser option.
Then in iDVD go to the Media/Movies section and drag the movie into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones that may be there:

Apologies I'm not the most technical of people!
Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

  • What is the latest version of iMovie?

I have iMovie 09. Is iMovie HD better?
Also, where are all the effects? I see the transitions such as "fade in" "spin" and stuff like that, but where is all the flashing and the shaking and the cool effects?
    Message was edited by: laikaisdead

The latest version of iMovie is iMovie 09 (v8.0.6)
Some folks prefer iMovie HD, but this hasn't been developed since 2006.

All I can tell you is that I found it incomprehensible and largely unuseable, and have stayed with iMovie 6 ever since.

What is the latest version of iMovie that I can use?
    Where could I buy it?

iMovie 09, oddly numbered 8.0.6 (go figure)
you get it through the iLife Suite

I suspect an iLife 10 should be forthcoming, but that is just a guess on my part.

  • Will the latest version of imovie 08 accept "motion jpeg"

will the latest version of imovie 08 accept "motion jpeg" files for editing?

If the files are on you computer you could use quicktime to convert them to DV or mpeg4/AVC to use with im08 if they are on camera you could import them using im6 (free from the  website for owners of im08) and either edit them in im6 or export them as DV or mpeg4/AVC to use in im08.
