In the new iTunes you no longer have the 'create iPod version' or 'create Apple TV version,' for converting movies. Will this feature return..?

After installing the new itunes, I inserted some video files, and wanted to create a version for my iPod classic. Before, I could just click on the video and then select 'create iPod version' from the menu. It would then convert the file. However, this feature no longer exist. Is there another way I can easily convert my files?

  • Installed new itunes and no longer have any music files

when I installed the new itunes version, everything went well - no error messages and itunes definetly looks different....
but now I have no music files in my itunes when I open itunes....is there a step I missed?

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

I have new computer and Itunes library which I want to sync w my nano and songs on it. When I try it tells me I will loose all the songs on my nano bc Im already sync'd on a dif library. How do I keep from loosing all my songs?

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new or different iTunes library, it will erase what is currently on the iPod and replace it with what is in the new library.

I had to trade in my iPhone for an android, I did not unencrypted the back up on iTunes, i no longer have access to the phone, is there a way to get to my data?

The difficulty is you have to unencrypt during the restore process, which you cannot do with an Android device.

Since updating my iTunes I no longer have any controls.  iTune covers the entire desktop and I cannot add from my files.  Prior to updating I had a perfectly good iTunes which would allow me to stories for including on a iPod.
    Can anyone please advise me.

From my post on what seems like the same issue (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21087892#21087892)
    Take the following steps:
    1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
    2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!
    Hope this helps!

I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Tech was trying to be helpful but has no way of addressing issue.

The new iTunes 12 does not have a rent tab. I've downloaded two movies which appear in the Movies folder on my Windows Explorer but not in the actual iTunes programme itself. Completely frustrating! Where can I find these two movies to watch? It asked me once it was downloaded if I wanted to watch it but I wasn't ready to and now can't find where to play these again.

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised  filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.
    Have a nice day!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Is it possibe to 'deauthorize' a computer that you no longer have?

I got a new computer and when I 'authorized' it, it told me that this was 5 of 5 authorized computers. I 'deauthorized' my last computer before trading it in on my new one and my MacBook Pro is also 'authorized'. The other 3 must be on very old computers that I no longer owm. Is there any way to 'deauthorize' them?

If you no longer have the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store,  deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • De-authorizing computers you no longer have

How do you de-authorize computers that you no longer have possession of? I had authorized a work computer that crashed and is now with my IT dept.

If you have reached the maximum of 5 authorisations then you can de-authorise all your computers via your iTunes account (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420) - you can then re-authorise any that you need. If you havn't reached the 5 limit (or have already done a 'de-authorise all' in the past 12 months), but still want to de-authorise that one then you try http://www.apple.com/support/itunes, but I don't know how/whether they can de-authorise a particular computer, as opposed to all of them.

  • How to make Outlook stop asking for a password when you no longer have a valid password?

Many people have asked how to get Outlook to stop prompting for a password, but the answers given are for people who have a valid password. My question is different. You've graduated from school or left your job. You no longer have access to an Exchange
server. Within Outlook, you have an historical archive of your emails messages and you need to keep them. You can't send email because you no longer have access to that Exchange server, but you have a local cache of the address book in Outlook, which is valuable
to you and you want to continue to be able to use.
How do you keep the account in Outlook but have it stop prompting you for a password in this specific case? Remember, you never will have a valid password to this Exchange server again.

Well you can manually recover your lost PST password with the command Pst19upg.exe -i filename.psx then press enter. After using this
command your pst files will be free from password and you can easily again use your outlook files. You can also recover pst password with the assist of pst password recovery tool.
