In the search bar google search engine missing (and others)
A number of search engines have gone missing. I guess I can add back the ones I've added in the past but Google is missing and I'm not sure how to add that back.
After I upgrade to Firefox, the "Restore Defaults" is not available.
Might as well as said click the selection that is not available to do the thing that you want.
Really irritating that Yahoo has confiscated my search bar and completely kicked out Google. This is the first time that Mozilla has really irritated me enough to switch to Chrome.

1. Use free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

Address bar google search does not open in the current tab
When I do a address bar google search, the search window does not open in my current tab (which is usually a newly blank tab window), instead it opens in a previously opened tab window (or sometimes even a new tab), but never does the search appear in the current tab. When it does this, it ofteb replaces a web page which I can no longer view it without going backwards.
The only fix I have found is to open a new tab and go to Google's web page and search from there. But, this takes extra time and I have to remember to do this. Otherwise, I might lose web pages I wish to view.
This never used to happen until recently. I have a Mac using Lion for the past year.

Instead, I want to search using the address bar in using google to open the search in the tabbed webpage I am viewing, rather than open another tabbed webpage. When it opens in a different tab from the one I am in, it either creates a brand new tab, or more problematically, opens the search in an tabbed window which has an existing webpage I still want to access for viewing.
This is a Firefox issue. Address bar searching works as it should in Safari. -
Error searching with google search bar
When seraching the net using Google search bar I got this message "Access to Proxy requires some authentication"
Do you mean the built-in Firefox search bar set to Google (typically a small g icon at the left end), or a Google add-on? I will assume the built-in bar.
Google is known to check your IP address and choose a "local" sites on that basis. If you are using a proxy, perhaps that might explain the change?
A typical thing to try in this situation is to delete your Google cookies. In this case, you'll need to delete cookies for both sites.
You can call up the cookie viewer either of these ways:
* right-click the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, the current site name should appear in the filter box at the top (presumably google.nl). You can remove that site's cookies individually, and then edit the filter value to google.co.uk to get the list for that site and remove those.
Then try the search bar again. Any improvement? -
I just updated my iPhone 6 to IOS 8.3. My safari will not let me search anything. If I type in a website URL, the Go button is greyed out. If I type in something to search on google, I press Go and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I installed Firefox today and as of yet, I haven't been able to use the Enter button in the address or search bar. I can use every other key except that one. Thus, it makes Firefox unusable and useless. Can anyone help me out? I even went as far as disabling every single addon that came with the default installation of Firefox and uninstalling my AVG. To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

When I click on the address bar it quickly flicks on and off. Same happens if I click on a password or username field.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I am trying to download a variety of files and when it is finished, the Mac freezes up and the task bar continue to blink on and off.
I have to go into Firefox and actually quit the application to continue. Any help is very much appreciated.are you backing up files, or doing a Time machine backup, either way, the Time machine will STOP when finished and show "last backup at XXXXXX" meaning its done...... OR if when transferring files, it will show a progress bar on your desktop and vanish when files are copied.
Open up the Hitachi drive (your G drive is made by Hitachi, and the best made by the way).....and see if the files are there.
a MORE VISUAL way is to open the hard drive file, and drag and drop files INTO the Gdrive and you can see them visually be copied there as you do it.
To see your HD on your desktop GOTO FINDER......PREFERENCES....then GENERAL TAB.........check the box marked HARD DRIVES.........then your Gdrive will appear on your desktop........open it from there, and DRAG and drop files from anywhere INTO the Gdrive....... easy visual way to see the files being copied into the Gdrive. -

Firefox 4 Menu Bar - When I hover over or select a menu bar item, the menu bar sub-menu becomes transparent and unreadable. Is this a known issue that can be corrected with an update or is it functionality that is not designed to work with this version?

While not verified, I believe this problem is due to an SLI configuration where the focus is on monitor 1. (I.e acceleration is available, but only on monitor 1.) -
I have a pc, and i accidentally deleted the address bar in my safari browser and no longer have any view options to get it back. I uninstalled and reinstalled safari twice, but the address bar still isn't there and neither are the view options. If there anyway to get it back?

I'm trying to update my iPhone 4s to iOS 7.1.2 and it just froze on the screen with the apple and the loading bar, it won't move and it's been like 45 minutes PLEASE HELP!
iOS updates can take a while, try back in an hour or so. My iPad took half an hour for an incremental update. And that was on a fast home WiFi.

I imported my favorites from Internet Explorer, but how do I display "favorites" in the tool bar so I can access and organize them?
It did merge them after a fashion, glad I took a backup first even if I did only perhaps create 3 or 4 bookmarks today. So if I have bookmark separators, it's going to figure out which group to put them in (no way). Anyway I thought they would just go down to the bottom of the bookmarks menu like the other method, like when I export and import bookmarks in Firefox where they do go to the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder and would simply delete one folder.
Anyway this would not be typical because I don't want any bookmarks from IE. -
