In the slide show timeline, how do I select a photo to crop?
In the slide show timeline, how do I select a photo to crop? Sometimes it lets me do it and sometimes I can't select the photo to do it. I'm not sure why the difference.
It's version 3.4.2, the latest. I can double click it, but then I'm out of the slideshow timeline and it's a hassle to quickly go back. I have to click on another place in my library and then go back to the slideshow and find my place in the timeline where I was. Many clicks. I just want to edit (enlarge and move the photo) in the timeline. Sometimes it works, but sometimes I can't get it to. Not sure if there's a "sweet" spot to click on for the photo in the timeline or what that I'm missing at times.

In the slide show view how can you pin the "next" Arrow to the ultimate edge so it is in the same place as the full screen image, it will pin to the left edge but not the right.

If it is already pinned, you can try removing any embedded HTML code and checking it.

I have a slide show project which runs about 7:10 minutes. I want to use background music that consists of 2 songs. The first song is 3:11 minutes and the second song is 4:51 minutes. Even when I add transitions and more images, the second song loses duration the moment I transfer it to the slide show. HOw do I adjust that?

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running? In the absence of specific details, I will generalize...
Typically there are two Premiere Elements features which allow you to try for flicker correction in the file.
a. Right click the Timeline file, select Field Options and then select there Flicker Removal.
or
b. Highlight the Timeline clip and get to the Motion Panel expanded where an anti-flicker filter slider exists.
If you are in the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor that comes with Premiere Elements, there is no Flicker Removal
option there that I know of. If you are dealing with photos, does a slight blur effect work for you in this regard in Photoshop Elements. Have you looked at slight blur effect even in Premiere Elements?

Add on....Where is this slideshow with the flicker issue....are you looking at it as a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc or are you still the slideshow creation stage, previewing it in one of these programs? -
I am putting together a slide show using iphoto and I wanted to add a description on each slide/photo. How can I do that? Also on the choice of music for the silde show, if the slide show is longer than one song can you chose a different song for background music?

How do I move Elements 8 projects (slide shows) from a Windows XP computer to new Windows 7 computer that also has Elements 8 on it so that the slides shows will work (Elements 8 works well on the Windows 7 computer & I have done several new slide show projects on it)? I tried backup & restore without success. I have also found the .psess files and copied them to the catalog in the new computer but when the sides shows are opened none of the images or music is there. Only the text that I entered shows. I have even tried to replicate the file paths from the XP computer to the new computer to see if that will help.
UPDATE: By a stroke of luck I happened to find a catalog link (a PSE8D file) in the 'My Catalog' file where the imported data was stored. When I clicked on it to investigate what is was 'magically' all of my transferred projects appeared in Organizer. Upon further investigation I found that the projects transferred from my XP computer were stored in a hidden catalog that had to be accessed through the Custom Location option in Catalog Manager (accessed by clicking File then Catalog then Custom Location). No Windows or Elements search revealed this fact. I am appreciative that I just got lucky. The Adode/Photoshop company was absolutely of no help. If fact to me their structure is designed to avoid contact with their customers unless you're buying a new product. Their products have many good features (even though user unfriendly) and it's a shame they don't value their customers more once the sale is completed.
Bottom line: All of the projects (sideshows) have been recovered and work in my new Windows 7 computer. I hope my experience helps others. -
I am using an apple TV to show a slide show which is sent via WiFi from a mini computer. The slide show repeats for a few hours and then stops and shows "no signal". What's going on… and how do I get the show to cycle indefinitely? (I have set the server to NEVER sleep)

when I try to burn my slideshow.mov to a dvd disc, it will burn but when i put it in the dvd player it says 'disc error'. I have burned it thru iDVD before but forgot how to do it and it won't do it now. The slide show is on my desktop
Rather than burn directly to disk follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums. -

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.
Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac. I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album. Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu. Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number. Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder. Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window. The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc. There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder. Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name. 001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad. Click on your iPad device in the list at the left. Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right. In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are. Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right. The slides will be copied to your iPad. Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding. Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad. But this worked and gave me several options. I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV. TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.

I have a slide show on the homepage of a website that is hosted on BC. Every time my client makes changes to text elsewhere on the page, it causes the slide show to disappear. Anybody know what's happening and how I can fix it?

Q. 2: Powerpoint for Mac 2011 Version 1 How do I get PRESENTER VIEW to work so I can see my notes and the audience only sees the slide show? Currently PRESENTER VIEW shows up on the flatscreen and my laptop shows only the slide show....?!

I use lion 10.7.2 and iPhoto latest version but when I export a slide show when I play it . It plays about half of the slide show and screen become white ? How can I solve it ? Is it bug or my computer problem

How do I re-order pictures in the slide show feature?
I am wanting to periodically add pictures to the slide show. Is there a way to...1. re-order the pictures? and 2. Have the latest one added be the picture that is the one first seen when the page is opened?
Thanks.You can delete them and re-add them accordingly or you can use random which would show the random order of images.
Another workaround can be be done using layers, where you can drag the image to the desired position which you want to show in order with slideshow.

How do I save the "Slide Show" functions when off line ?
I'm working on an interative porfolio (to use off line) using IWeb. But once saved in a folder on my computer, the Slide Show functions (black background, reflection effects, sliding thumbnails, etc.) are not existing (?)
By the way, can anybody tell me about a good (and simple to use !) shareware for editing iteractive slideshows ?

Timing of text box not working. I get the first few slides to work and then on slide 5 my text boxes will not appear. And they do not appear for the rest of the slide show. Help anyone.
Text caption is timed to appear at 2 seconds, but you have a click box at 0sec. Its duration is very short, which means that I cannot see if there is a pause. I suspect this click box is pausing at the end of its timeline, which is at 0.3secs and the Text caption at 2 seconds will not appear before the user has clicked on that click box. The timeline is the core of Captivate, learn at least how to read it.

If you want the green text caption 'Click on...' to appear right at the beginning of the slide, you have to check its Timing accordion: set it to start at 0 secs instead of 2 secs and extend its duration to the 'rest of the slide'.
I don't know what is in the Group. That group and the HIghlight box will disappear at 3 seconds. Or maybe the action that is triggered by the Clickbox is different from 'Continue'?
