Yes the beach is my front garden, I'm very lucky to live on Brighton seafront, especially when the weather's good mind you, a decent storm is pretty cool too! Haha, the earring comment... What is network coverage like in your home and areas of commute?
Coverage in and around Newmarket is excellent, with 4G recently having been introduced. I go into Cambridge quite often and coverage there is equally good.
Where do you see the smartphone in 5 years?
Tough question. More technology improving the user experience as the devices become more powerful and I hope current battery research moves on quickly and comes to the consumer device.

I am currently coming to the end of the 2nd year of an Open University Physics and Maths degree so I will do the maths and let you know.

An error occurred during the Lync meeting when open meeting the first time.

Hello Lync specialists out there! We are running a Lync 2013 standard server in our company together with edge server and reverse proxy for external access. We haven’t taken Lync meetings, because of missing licenses, official in use but
while testing I’m experiencing already a problem. When I schedule a meeting in Outlook and the click the link the Lync 2013 opens a window and wants to connect me to the meeting. Anyways after some period of time I get a message saying: “An error occurred
during the Lync meeting.” Then when I close this window and click the link again in Outlook it works like a charm right away. Is there anything I can do that this will work from the beginning? Also when I then try to open this meeting room several times it
works but e.g. on the next day or after some hours I’ve the same problem again.

thanks to Adrian first for informing about the September update. Quite strange that they have released two updates in such a short period of time. The last one was January 2014 and then August and September. Luckily we have just a small
environment and the update is not a big issue.
The update is now installed and I would have to monitor the situation the next days.
Holger which settings I should enable in the meeting policy? We have two policies for conferencing at the moment. First one (default) for all users which disables conferencing as we have only standard licenses for them and a policy with
enabled conferencing for users with enterprise CALs. The conferencing policy for enterprise users looks like that for us:

How to recover text messages that appear in the spotlight search ?

I've somehow lost all my text messages, but they still appear in the spotlight search. Does anyone know how to recover them ? Any help will be much appreciated since I really need most of those texts. Thank you.

First of all, it is possible to recover iMessage from the iPhone 5s. If you have turned on "iCloud Backup" before, all messages would be synced to the cloud automatically. You can follow the official guide for more details:
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
Or you can restore data from the latest iTunes backup to your iPhone, maybe the texts that you want are there

Yahoo and "the majority of our users"

Hello friends
as many of you I am using Yahoo!Messenger to video chat with friends. Most of them use PCs with windows SP, even my bf, so in adition to YahooMessenger we use Skype to hear each other (we live 500km apart).
Yes, I am a Mac fan, using Powerbook G4 with in-built microphone and iSight. To communicate with other people, in text, voice and images, he only uses Skype. He wants me to get a PC too, for more than 6months we were waiting for some improvements, either with Skype or with Yahoo. Now even Yahoo is not working.
Below is what I got in reply from Yahoo. They care about "the majority" of their users and Mac users obviously dont belong there.
Are we going to be isolated from the rest of the world just for using Mac?
What can we do about it?
What do you do instead using Yahoo?

Your Boyfriend could download and install either AIM 5.9 or Trillian (he will the Pro version) to work with your iChat
There is also Paltalk
Or YakforFree which both of your will have to download and install.
Both these do Video with sound.
I do not know of anyway that you will avoid installing something somewhere.

Weird issue with Exchange 2010 Room Mailboxes - allows multiple booking of the created meeting rooms

we are facing weird issue with Exchange 2010 Room Mailboxes
it allows multiple booking of the created meeting rooms.Sometime we are not getting acceptance or declined mail but and we could see our meetings has been booked at slot.
for e.g.
User A booked room1 with weekly recurrence for time 4pm to 5pm., and User B made his booking other day,without realizing that user A meeting is exists.
Neither of user A nor user B got declined/rejected emails.
please sahre guidelines if anyone known to this issue.
Note - Allow Conflict booking is disabled already :) but still have issue

Is the spotlight index stored on the boot drive or individual volumes?

My questions are pretty simple, and are sumarized here (from the block of text below):
First, if I have several external hard drives, is the Spotlight index file for each drive stored on the external hard drive, or on OS X's boot drive?
Secondly, if it's stored on the boot drive, can I copy these files to another Tiger-running Mac to eliminate the need to re-index the hard drives? Where do I find them?
Third: Leopard's Spotlight has quite a few new features. Even if the Tiger index files are stored on the external drive, will it need to re-index the drive to support the new feature set?
Now for the long explenation:
I have been preparing to upgrade my Powerbook to Leopard within the next month or two, and as such, I bought a new hard drive to dedicate one of my old drives to Leopard and Time Machine. Because I have three extrernal hard drives, I needed to move about 500 GB of data between the thee drives to make room for what was on the now-dedicated drive. Of course, this requires that Spotlight re-index the "new" drives.
Today, I left all of the drives attached to my old G4, running Tiger, while it sits there indexing the three drives, totaling around a terrabyte of external storage. Because Spotlight tends to hog all of the available CPU time, and the G4 should be done indexing the drives, it would save me a lot of time if I could copy the index files over from the G4 to my Powerbook to avoid indexing them all over again. That is, if the index files are not on the external drives already. If they are on the G4's boot drive, where do I find these files?
Finally, I plan to reformat the internal hard drive of my Powerbook when I install Leopard - I make a habit of doing a fresh install for every major upgrade (eg, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, etc). To estimate the amount of time needed to upgrade, I'd be nice to know if Leopard will need to re-index the files on the external drives - even if Tiger's spotlight index is stored on the externals - for Leopard's new Spotlight features. Will it need to re-index? I would assume that until Leopard arrives, most people wouldn't know this, of course.

If Pages and the other applicatioins installed in the Applications in the root directory they can be used by everyone. By default all programs installed by the App store are installed in the Applications folder in the root. In other words, your family members should be able to use the programs. Can they not?

I'll start with the most basic qusetion if you have Spot selected from the dropdown in the Lighting Effects Properties.
There are also some presets under Presets including a Default Setting.

Dictionary no longer appears in the Spotlight results.

The Mac dictionary no longer appears in the Spotlight results. I have reindexed the hard drive, but that did not help. The stand alone Dictionary application launches fine. Suggestions?

The dictionary works just fine to me.
