In Trying to convert my flash movie to the latest Flash format and from action script 2 to 3 I get this error message Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 3', Frame 1, Line 2, Column 7
1119: Access of possibly undefined property showMenu through a reference with static type Class. This is the debug scrip this.loadVariables("_urls.txt") Stage.showMenu=false; stop(); I don't know how to fix this. Can any one Help. The movie loads to 99% then stops and reloads again. over and over again.

Stage is a protected keyword in AS3 and it has no property showMenu

I'm sorry that didn't work. Are you experiencing the same issue no matter what file you try to convert to Word? Or is the problem specific to one file? Knowing the following can help us get to the bottom of the issue:
What kind of content is in the PDF: text, scanned text, images, tables, signatures (can be a problem), smudges, etc.?
How was the PDF created and in what program: Acrobat, MS Word, LiveCycle, scanner utility, or some other application? Some applications are not as fussy about following PDF conventions. (If you don't know, you can open the file in Reader and choose File > Properties. Look for PDF Producer, Application, and PDF Version).

No matter how many uninstalls and reinstalls Firefox 4 will not play flash videos w the latest flash plugin installed. What do I do to get flash videos to play like everyone esle can?

Trying to solve my non-playing flash videos wherever I surf in Firefox 401 w Flash plugin 10.2.159.1, such as CNN or anywhere really while surfing. Even at the Adobe web site I cannot play demo videos and I own CS4 Suite. I can play any YouTube video I select.

I logged out and logged into my clean account where I install nothing. No joy.

I am trying to view a flash movie but am told Flash player is not installed.

I am running on Windows 8, using IE 10. I've tried running the latest IE update and the problem still exists. I tried turning IE off, restarted, then back on, but problem still exists. It works fine on Chrome. Any suggestions on how to fix this for IE?

Chrome has its own proprietary Plugin called "PepperFlash". It functions independently of the ActiveX plugin for IE. Frankly, it works better than IE, as do ALL other browsers. IE relies on 1993 technology called ActiveX controls, which the rest of the computing world abandoned twelve years ago, because they present more obstacles to productivity, than the problems they supposedly prevent. I only have IE for testing and troubleshooting. I refuse to use it as my everyday browswer.
I recommend using any other browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

Flash Movie - Controlling the Movie

I'm currently working with a flash file that has 24,000
frames. I have been able to successfully use the Call Sprite
commands to start and play the movie and stop the movie, but only
from frames 1-16,000. But for some reason the movie will not play
beyond frame 16,001. It will go to any frame using the Call Sprite
commands after 16,000 and display that frame but the movie will not
play. The movie is a flash 6 swf. published from Flash 8
professional. It was originally a video converted to flash format.
This works or any frame number between 1 and 16,000:
CallSprite(@"chair",#gotoframe,9325)
CallSprite(@"chair", #play)
But the movie image stops at frame 16,001 and the sound
continues. If I tell it to go to frame 16,100 (or any frame higher)
It will go to that frame, display that frame (image) but will not
play the movie/sound.
The flash assest properties are set as Linked,preload, image,
sound, and I've tryed every possible option.

I would not be surprised if this was a limitation of the
Flash sprite,
since it only officially supports Flash 6 or earlier. I
recall some sort
of frame limit in older versions of Flash.
Did you try 'not linked', so it's actually imported? Not that
that would
help necessarily, but maybe.
Also maybe try the Flash ActiveX control and see if that
works better
for you? Though it has it's own issues and requires different
scripting...

Then you can’t do anything with those files. Even opening them in InDesign would yield very unpredictable results.
You’d need to find an old machine running nothing later than Windows XP and then buy a copy of PM which is like lighting money on fire.
That said, someone might come along willing to help out but just exactly how many is a bunch?

I am trying to watch the on demand videos on the xfinity website. According to the website it says the minimum requirement is Flash 10.0.42

Just reinstalled newest iTunes and still the program fails to open. Am using Windows 7 starter. It seems that the failure to open iTunes happened just after I updated to the latest flash player. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

iTunes will not open. I am using Windows 7, and have had no trouble with iTunes until yesterday. The only think I did yesterday was install an upgrade to the latest Flash player. From then on, even after deleting and reinstalling iTunes, it still does NOTHING after the screen authorizing iTunes to make changes to the hard drive. I have tried going to the applications and ending process. I've also tried going to Control panel - and tried to repair the program.
If I don't get some help here... iTunes is toast to me.
