In trying to install LR update, your instructions tell me I need to re-install CC, which I am unable to do??????

In trying to re-install CC, I have followed the instructions, but each time I attempt to install,
I continue to get this message and I can go no further.  Can someone help?

The error message means that the installation of the Creative Cloud Application was not successful. I would recommend uninstalling the application, manually removing the folders mentioned below and trying  the installation procedure again.
WINDOWS ::  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE & C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeApplicationManager .
MAC : /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/OOBE & /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/AdobeApplicationManager.

    Trying to install AIR on Mac 10.6.8 and get the same
    "An error occurred while uninstalling Adobe AIR.  Uninstallation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
    Looked at others solutions and tried downloading through Firefox, finding the Frameworks folder of AIR to delete it but those didn't work. Tried many other solutions that haven't worked.

    Nope, it was a Verizon Wireless Store.  I went in there in the first place because I trusted the Company for their professionalism, but I've been let down badly.  I posted my story on here because I'm hoping to be able to get the attention of someone from Customer Service.  It seems like the only way you can actually speak with a live person who knows what they are doing, is when you stop paying your bill on time.  After you pay your bill, they transfer you to a poorly trained "rep" that has no authority to handle anything important. I'm actually a pretty patient person, but when it takes someone over 45 min mostly just to keep me on hold, and then tell me they can't help me, I'm not really impressed with their idea of customer service.

    Okay- so here's the long story!
    Perhaps this will help.
    My computer crashed a few months ago. 
    We got a new hard-drive.
    I tried to open my iPhoto for the first time and go some message about it being "locked".  I no longer get that message so I don't remember entirely what it said, but I followed to directions to "unlock" it.
    Now, when I click 'iPhoto" on my dock, I get this message: 
    To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared.
    To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader available from Apple.
    then there is a "learn more" button.

    I followed the steps to upgrade from previous versions- see my comment above, but I get stuck from 8.1.2 version to what appears to be the next one up from there.
    Does this help?  I hate computers and simply want get my photos back from Carbonite before the crash happened.  I'm freaking out because I have 4 years of photos from the birth of my son.  If I can't get iPhoto working, I have no idea how to get my photos restored.

    Do you have an external drive? If no, then you will need to purchase a drive so you can backup your data.
    If you have a drive that is formatted as GUID you can select to install OS X from recovery mode on the external drive. Now you can boot from that drive and make a backup of your internal drive so you can erase and reformat the drive.
    Recommended Drives
    USB 3.0 drives work on USB 2.0 but you do get 2.0 speed. They are cheaper because they are popular PC drives.  If you get a new computer you'll get the bump to 3.0 speed. I don’t recommend FW. The newer computers don’t have FW ports. You would need a connector in order to use the drive on a newer computer.
    Size:  I recommend either the 2T or 3T drives.  Often they are cheaper than a 1T drive. The 4T drives have more issues and failure rates.
    Many drives come formatted for PC but easy to format in Disk Utility. 
    This Western Digital drive has good reviews: Has a 2 yr warranty. Comes formatted for Mac but I would still format using Disk Utility.

    Yes, it will keep the music.
    Close all open apps or programs.  Open iTunes, look for Check for Updates in the menu and click on that.  Then follow the prompts.
    When the update is done.  Open iTunes and in the menu look for show sidebar and click on that, then connect your iPhone to iTunes, click on your phone's name on the Sidebar, review all the tabs to make sure your sync option are what you want them to be (music, movies, photos, books, etc.) and after that click sync or apply and wait for the sync to finish.

    Before installing the new firefox go to Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Supr), go to the Processes tab and search for any "firefox.exe" (or firefox.exe*32), give a right click and select "End Process Tree". This should be enough to let you install the new FireFox.

  • My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode after trying to do an update on it, what do I need to do to fix the problem?

    My iPod touch had an update that needed to be done when I plugged in it to the computer and iTunes. It came up with an error and then went in to recovery mode and that is where is is stuck at. What can I do to get in back to normal?

    Without knowing what the error message said all I can suggest is:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer                            
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    I just downloaded iPhoto upgrade for my Macbook. I just bought Lion and wanted to upgrade my iLife suite. I downloaded this and it works great. I looked the other day at the App Store and saw it said upgrade beside iPhoto. I clicked it and it told me to sign in as the username I bought the upgrade from. I am in the correct log in.
    Also I have Lion and it is amazing but it says download beside it. I have Lion and I don't need to download it again. I click it and it reinstalls it to my computer just to tell me that it cannot be installed. Whats up with these situations?

    I had a similar issue and it was an easy fix for me. First you need to log out of your account completely in the Mac App Store. Quit the application. Re-open the Mac App Store. Click log-in, enter your Apple-ID and password. Now when the screen pops-up that has all of your billing/credit card information on it DO NOT select done. Instead select View my Account, then select View hidden purchases. There you should be able to find iPhoto. Hope this helps if not let me know. I'm still searching solutions for you.

    Carol,
    In Finder, Right-Click or Ctrl-Click the filename and choose Open With: Numbers 3.
    If you get the error you mentioned, it's almose always because you are inadvertently trying to open the docuement with the old version. It's easy to make that mistake because the icons look similar and of course the names are similar too.

    If your ipod is not able to run 4.3, then you cannot get facebook.

    I just purchased and installed my B209A Photosmart Plus Printer on my Vista operating system. The printer works fine however when I turn my computer on I get a pop up window that says Window Installer is trying to install trayap which is one of your programs. It does this over and over and over and will not stop when I hit cancel. The pop up sits in the middle of any program that I try to run and will not allow me to move it. Can you help me please.
