In USA and can't make calls or send texts but can recieve
Hi.
As the title says I'm in the USA bit I can't make calls or texts to anyone.
I called before I went and asked if everything would be OK and even bought a bundle that I can't use.
Please request pm and I can reply on hotel wofo for the next 30 mins until I'm kicked out.

Welcome to the EE Community!
If you have been a customer for over 6 months you can enable this by logging in to My Account.
Once logged in > Click your Device > Scroll down to Manage this device > Click Usage Controls > Click Allow on Call Abroad and Premium Rate.
If this is not an option let me know if you are a Pay Monthly or Pay as you Go customer and if you are on EE, T-Mobile or Orange.

iphone 4 bought new/privately JAIL BROKEN/SIM FREE, used with uk carrier no problem, but now using a thailand sim (TRUE) and cannot make calls or send texts - but can recieve both, TRUE checked & found SIM OK and confirmed it worked normally on another iphone ... software is up to date and I RESET NETWORK SETTINGS still same - HELP !
Sorry, there is no support for jailbroken iPhones here...more than likely the cause of your problem. You'll have to go elsewhere for help.

I cannot use my iPhone to make calls or send text messages after upgrading to ios 7
I just upgraded to ios7 and I can no longer make calls or send text messages. The screens seem to be locking. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?
My wife is having the exact same issue after updating to the new iOS 8.1.1 and we've tried all the same steps even restoring the phone as a new phone. We've contacted our service provider and they've told us to go to apple to potentially "remove" her serial number from their servers to allow it to work properly on the service we have. We are desperate as purchasing a new phone right now is not an option and she desperately needs her phone for work and life.

I'm on holiday in cephalonia in (Greece) and am unable to call or send texts?
On holiday in cephalonia and whilst I am receiving texts, I am unable to send any or make calls. Connectivity and networks seem ok otherwise. Why is this and what can I do?
As incoming texts are free while abroad, roaming doesn't need to be enabled..
: You may be able to activate roaming from your online a/c.

Iphone 4s wont make calls or send texts/ iMessage not working
My iPhone 4s just recently started showing 'No Service" in the top left corner of the screen and iMessage will not activate either. It switches off from no service to having service. I cannot make calls either. Ive tried calling *228 but my phone will not make the call. I cant send regular text messages either it just comes back as message failed to send. As you can see this is very frustrating as I need my phone to do the basics of texting and calling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Here are some things to try.
Call Customer Service and ask them to check your local towers
Hard reset of the phone.
Reset the Networks on the phone settings. Settings > General > scroll to bottom > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Back up to iTunes on a computer and restore -
I am having problem with iphone 4s, I can not make calls or send text message? Please help.
The problem is presistant. I tried to send the text message but it does not leave the phone, it is only delivered after I turn the phone off and then turn it on again. Only then it gets delivered and even that is only for that moment.
Secondly, I can not send or recieve the calls as well.
Thirdly, after I make a call, the calling screen gets stuck and I can not talk to the current caller or dial to another caller.
Note: I have 'Not" dropped my iphone any where uptil now and I keep it in a pouch to protect it. The problem started recently and before that it worked fine. The problem started when I turned off the phone and after an hour or 2, I turned it on again.
The signals of the service provider is coming perfectly. I haven't found any problem with there service yet.Network unavailable means the phone is detecting and using the SIM, else you would get a NO SIM error.
It means that Sprint does not exist in the Ukraine (obvious), and Sprint does not have any interconnection agreement with a local carrier. Hence, the phone can't talk to anyone, carrier-wise. You need to get a SIM from a local carrier and try again. If it works, you're all set and the phone is indeed unlocked. Else you have been conned and will need to go and complain with whomever sold it to you. -
i have an iPhone 4 and it turns on but it keeps "searching" for service and it says to connect to my itunes and a support grouop but when i plug it into my laptop (and i have a toshiba not a mac) my phone doesnt even connect so i have no idea whatas going on with my phone and i need it asap!
Check your connection - Reset Network Settings - Toggle Airplane Mode -
If none of those help hard reset the phone
Hold down the Home button and the Power on/off button "at the same time"
-Screen will go black then after a few seconds you should see the Apple Logo, once you see the logo let go of both buttons. Allow the iPhone to reboot- -

I cannot make or receive calls and text messages. I called my carrier and it isn't them. What can I do? Do I need to go to an Apple store?the model is A1387...I can switch my service provider and keep the same number..not an issue...But why exactly is it happening with a new vodafone sim ??? i will try out airtel and loop mobile sim cards as well..
I have also contacted the vodafone technical department...may be its not a problem on their part..but they said they would like to look into it as this case is a first of its kind...they also told me that my old dolphin (mtnl) card would work on a diff band compared to the new vodafone / airtel/ aircel sim cards..!
If if doesnt work out ..i'll risk sending the phoen back to sydney for a replacement so that I can end up with a different model series! will have to wait another 2-3 months to get teh phoen back though!

i have new apple i phone 4s after i update it to ios5.0.1 i lose signal when ever i try to call. it show searching and then again this happen
I have the same problem and i had write a complaint in this forum before, now my iphone 4s is back to normal with the latest ios 5.0.1.
my problems start when i click on software update that pop up in general setting. after update then the problems start..
last night i try my luck with restore my phone to original setting. I plug in the phone and connect to itunes, i click on restore. Then itunes start downloading the latest ios 5.0.1 to restore to my phone.
Magically.. after restore...all things is back to normal...and my battery last longer..
I just dont restore from backup..
all my contact i get back from icloud.
At least im trying something before i decide to change my phone..
and its work!

try deleting your icloud account from your phone. you can also try disabling 3G.

Got a new LG in Anchorage and was told Glennallen, AK is in a service area. Got home and all I get is Message 41, Roaming.

I checked your coverage and I do see we have an extended 4G coverage. This means you're able to use your phone but it needs to be activated in a 4G LTE Verizon Wireless coverage zone. I apologize.

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
if that didn't help, talk to your carrier. -

You cannot upgrade from v6 to v7 without purchasing iLife 08.
Can you give more details about your crashing issue. Make of camera etc.,
You can start with the troubleshooting basics:
1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts), create an iPhoto library there and see if the problem is repeated. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

I have just bought iphone 4 and when I make calls i don't hear anything from the headset excep when i plug in the headphones or turn on speaker ?
I have the same problem. It only started a few days ago. When I make or receive calls I have to use speaker otherwise I can't hear a thing. I'm also pretty sure that when I try to make calls without the speaker turned on, it doesn't actually dial, but the display says it has.
I've tried restoring from a backup with no luck. I'm reluctant to restore as a new phone as it's such a pain.
