in what package is Edge Animate included?
When promted to select a single licence, this one does not show up!
Is this ony included in the full cc licence?

Adobe Edge Animate is available only with full plan of Creative Cloud. Unfortunatelly it's not available with subscription of single app.

Solaris 10 include files? what package?

Two parts to this...
1. I downloaded the Solaris 10 8/07 CDs and burned them. I started installing and when it asked for CD3 and CD4, and I inserted them, the % meter jumped from 1 to 100 and it appeared that nothing was installed from those two. I selected "Everything" or "All" or whatever from the package selection screen. I was in text mode if this matters.
2. Main question: what package contains the /usr/include/ *.h files? I've got gcc installed and working but I can't compile anything. What SUNW* package are these in?

At a minimum, SUNWhea. But other packages may be necessary as well.

How do I keep an Edge Animate banner ad file size small?

Most publishers cap the file size of banner ads at 30 KB to 50 KB. Is that possible using Edge? I know someone asked a question like this two years ago, and the reply was to use a CDN to serve the larger .js files. Is there a more direct approach now that Edge is no longer in preview? Thanks!

We were just forming what became the Edge Animate team two years ago, so many questions were asked at that time. The 30k-50k ad standards were built with Flash in mind; HTML advertising standards are still emerging. In the meanwhile, we are making a continuing investment to improve the form factor of Animate output. Here are a few things we've done so far in "Publish":
- Frameworks via CDN (for jQuery)
- "Polite" preloader - this allows you to sneak-in under 30k size limits. It shows a light-weight "preloader" and then pull in a larger payload after the page has loaded. The preloader UI contains a meter that indicates the gzipped size of the preloader including its resources.
- Compressed composition output. When published, the animation (xyz_edge.js) is written in an efficient/compact form that shaves as much as 80% from the composition size.
I'd be grateful for your perspective on the "polite preloader" approach vs. trying to fit the entire composition into 30k. If Animate were to support an "areo-gel weight" output format, what kinds of experiences would you expect to produce with it? If you have any examples, please share!

not much usefull info. Yes I get it if I pay the full cloud. But what if I pay one program = (Adobe Muse is in Creative Cloud subscription). Please respond. Is it possible or not? I want a simple answer in one sentence. :-)

Edge Animate program itself running slow

The Edge Animate CC program itself is running really slow on my work computer right from the start the first time I installed it. When I try to do anything the response is sluggish at best, and often the “Not Responding” message comes up. After about 30 seconds to a minute, it unfreezes and the operation completes. Other CC programs including Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash run fine – it is just Animate. Animate also runs normally on my home computer. Reinstall was no good.
The computer is a Dell desktop with a Core i5-3330 processor and 8G of RAM running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.
I’m afraid this may be one of those rare obscure issues that is impossible to resolve, because I can’t find anyone with a similar problem online, so any hopeful suggestions would be welcome.

2. My machine has more than the specifications :
     a. It runs an i7, 64 processor
     b. I have 12 Gb of DDR3 Ram
     c. I have loads of space of my 240GB SSD and 1Tb HDD
     d, Available screen resolutions are way above what is required
3. Upon installation I was never prompted to accept or reject anything. Here are the steps I went through:
I. I first installed the trial of Edge Animate and before trying it (why did I not wait a second...)
II. I bought a license for Creative Cloud...
III. Then I tried it and it was laggy.
IV. Then I swore extensively in French Canadian. A necessary step in recovering from screwing yourself.
V. Then I tried all possible means of enhancing the performance but to no avail...
Maybe there's something that could be done with this "granting access to a localhost port"... But you say that without it, the preview option will not work... But the preview option (you mean Ctrl+Enter?) DOES work... So I'm still confused...
Back to step IV, I guess.

aibun So... it just happened again. This time, I was just moving an image position. Apparently the heavy black shadow around the alert box means Edge Animate keeps generating alert boxes infinitely (screenshot below).
It's really strange. My MacBook is brand new so I couldn't think of any internal causes.

Import com.sun.j3d.loaders.Scene - no longer compiles - what package?

import com.sun.j3d.loaders.Scene -- this line compiled back in 2002, but is not supported under the current Java Development Package. Does anyone know the replacement package? I installed Java3D and JDIC, but my compiler still complains of an error. I read that JDIC got moved to org.jdesktop, but I tried
import org.jdesktop.j3d.loaders.Scene -- this did not work either. Can someone tell me what package I need to include in my class path to get my compiler to recognize loaders.Scene?

Nevermind this post. I added my vrml97 package to the runtime library, but I forgot to add it to the compile library. Oops.

Problems with Edge Animate Animations

I am Using CP8 with responsive projects. It appears that no matter what if an edge animate file is imported into a slide it lays on top of everything else and trying to put a caption or an image or anything else on top of it will not work (it shows behind it). also I have a custom pause play button on the slide and it does not work on any slide containing an edge animation. Anyone else found these problems and maybe a solution?

This has always been the case for any animation in CP to be on top. Please
file a feature request. Same for communication between OAM and CP, none
for the moment. You van have transparent background and pause/play button
in OAM, could be a workaround.

Is Edge Animate is 1.5.0.217.23270 free to use indefinately?

Hi Goos,
Its possible that Edge Animate is unique in this respect and may not have the same trial behavior as other products. I know this was true for an earlier release of Edge Animate.

What do mean by 'open AOM files'?
The export packaged files are for use in other programs like Dw, Indesign and Muse.
Can you clarify what it is that you are attempting to do, please.

Have you tried to use google fonts? I have used them and they work for me.
When you add your font for example:

How do I include a drop shadow effect when I import an Illustrator vector into Edge Animate? It should be noted that I also have another effect (an extrude & bevel) applied which does copy over when I paste (or create an SVG and import) into Edge Animate. Any thoughts on why the drop shadow disappears but the extrude & bevel carries over?

Which version of Illustrator are you using?
In earlier versions of Illustrator it is not that easy to apply drop shadows with spot colours.

How to replay entire composition including video and other animation in edge animate cc 2014.1

I am working on a project but i am stuck now. The basic flow of my project is: intro slides then a video plays then next and back buttons fade in that will control the next set of slides. Another button to replay the whole thing from start. My problem is i am able to replay the slides but not the video. My slides consists of text animations. I am using the new edge animate cc 2014.1 All the slides play from the beginning but the video does not follow that lead. I also managed to replay the video but thats not the desired thing i want. I want the whole composition to play again when i click a button. Can anyone help ?

The problem is with the playReverse call for time duration in which video is there.
playReverse actually plays in timeline in revere order 5sec->4sec->...->0sec, but this won't work for video as it doesn't play the video in reverse.
what you can do is that, in the "previous" button click handler, add

       sym.playReverse();
     else {
       sym.$("trance6")[0].pause();
       sym.$("trance6")[0].currentTime = 0;
       sym.play(0);
Also in "start" button click handler there needs a correction as below:
     Use this sym.$("trance6")[0].play();
     instead of sym.$("trance6")[0].play("1");
