Where is the folder into which place the swf file for Illustrator Extensions

Hi all,
I can place swfs into Photoshop & Indesign panels folder and they appear just fine in the extension menu but wherever I place the swf into Illustrator's folders, it just appears nowhere. Can someone tell me where do I have to place them ?

Hi Harbs,
thx for your answer. As I don't have Extension builder installed yet, I do extensions with Flex and csaw libs, so it is easier for me to debug placing the swf directly into the folders like for Photoshop and Indesign. Of course in the end I would have set a correct extension but for now it was better for me to do this way.
So what I understand is that there is no way to get that behaviour with Illustrator unless I do process and install a whole extension package. Annoying but well, will have to deal with it.

I'd like to know which are the document types supported by Oracle Ultrasearch / Oracle Portal that looks for the information inside the document.

The document types supported are the same as those supported by Oracle Text.
It depends on the database version as to what document types are supported. Therefore if you check your database information, Text Reference, there is a Supported Document Formats section which should give you the information you need.

MDM iviews in Portal throws error in key Mapping

Hi,
I have EP7 with SP15 and MDM 6.0, recently upgraded. Before upgrade we have an application which uses the MDM iviews and maps the fields of one table to other and displays in some other iview.
The application was working fine before upgrade of MDM. But after upgrade, the mapping seems not working.
My scenario is as : Using MDM Search iview, I search records from MDM repository, Main Table. This result is displayed in MDM Result iview. From this result iview, I select a record. From this selected record, a field is mapped to the other table. The mapped record, then, is displayed in MDM Details Iview.
After MDM upgrade, whenever we select a record from the result of table 1,the mapped iview throws erros :
Error occurred: Error performing search. com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter, com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter (see log for details)
when serached log : it says error in <table 1>-Key mapping <table1> is first table.
We have used EPCF eventing for MDM iviews.
has anyone out there faced same issue ?

Iam trying to configure MDM iviews in portal, When i try to upload the MDMJAVAAPI04_3.sca file i get the below error

I have already deployed the following scas and sdas.

2.com.sap.mdm.tech.connector.sda
3.BPMDMTECHN00_0.sca
4.BPMDMAPPLI00_0.sca
i am also using MDM 5.5 sp04 and EP7.0
after deploying these jars, i am getting the MDM system template but after that it gives me runtime exception

MDM iView Wizard: Search Table doesnt populate any value.

Hello all,
I am trying to create MDM Resultset IView using MDM IView wizard in portal.
I do not get any value in the dropdown of Search Table.
I have created an MDM system and assigned a repository to it.
The wizard doesnt allow me to go ahead without selecting search table parameter from the dropdown.
Techincal details:
MDM: 5.5
EP:- 2004 SP 16.
Please give me your valuable inputs.

Hi Ashutosh,
After creating an MDM system and assigning a repository, you need to right-click on the system, and then choose System Aliases. Define an "alias" and save it.
Now go to User Administration -> Identity Management.
Select the User/Role/Group you want to assign to the System.
Click the User Mapping for System Access tab, and click Modify.
Select the system alias from the drop-down box, and map it to an MDM user. Note that in NW 7 (NW04s), the user must have a password, so you may need to configure this first in the MDM Console.
Save the mapping, return to the System Administration -> System Configuration screen.
Locate your system, right-click it, and select Connection Tests. Test the connection. If it succeeds, you are now ready to create MDM iViews using this system.

Javascript error in Standard MDM IViews on portal

Hello Xperts,
I have deployed standard MDM IViews on my portal.
In standard Resultset IView, there is a provision of saving results by using My Bags option. When I click on My Bags option and then New Bag, it throws javascript error.
Details of systems are as below.
MDM API version 5.5
Portal Version EP 7 SP07.
Appreaciate any inputs for this.

we are able to login to Data Manager with Mapped ID's and I even tried creating new IViews. Nothing worked.
As you suggested, will try restarting the portal server.

How to edit a copy of the masthead iView

Hi,
I downloaded a copy of the masthead iView (com.sap.portal.masthead) in NW studio and I want to change the .jsp files by swapping the logo and the welcome text (shoud go to the right instead of left).
This is very easy to change in the JSP file, but somehow my NW studio doesn't allow me to make changes to the file.
How can I edit the import (from par) project?

Hi Daniel
Did you download the com.sap.portal.masthead.par.bak file from this location.
System Administration >Support>Portal Runtime-->Browse deployment >WEB-INF>deployment>temp>com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak
Import this file into NDS and it is advisable to change the sap to your company.

Some question about mdm java api and portal content

Hi Gurus,
I am new to MDM. I am going to develop some web dynpro application using mdm java api.
My question is regarding the relationship between MDM version and NW version:
for example
1.MDM5.5 JAVA api can be deployed to CE 7.11 server?
2.MDM7.1 JAVA API can be deployed to CE 7.11 server? or can only be deployed to CE server.
the same question for the MDM portal content.
the possible dev environment for our company would be:
1.MDM7.1
2.CE7.2(do we need another EP7 server for the UWL?)

I am using Portal 7.0. MDM version is 7.1.
My problem is ... i am trying to connect WebDynpro (JAVA) to MDM7.1. But am unable to do so. I have a WD Frame in which i have a WD iView and the MDM iView. But i am unable to pass parameters from the WD iView to MDM Item Details iView.
Note:
1. I have deployed MDM JAVA API on NWDS
2. I have specified " * " as a parameter to pass from the URL in the Item Details iView.
Please help.

Which is the right way?/place to post the suggestion to SAP

Hi Freinds,
if someone have to make a suggestion to SAP, for its product extension..or maybe a new feature to add to its existing product offering...which is the right place...shld it be in the form of a blog or a post in a forum...
and if indeed turns out to be a unique feasible feature and gets lots of positive response...why kind of recognition will it get....

lol. there's a world outside the US for those who don't know.
therefore ASUG might not be the right address for someone living elswhere. there are some SAP user groups in other areas of this world, eg in germany it's DSAG; unfortunately you have to be a member of those 'societies' (membership fee) and it's not easy to make yourself heard in the beginning.
SAP could provide better channels for that, e.g. special SDN areas for that purpose.

Is there a dialing app which places icons on the screen along with the name being called?

Does anyone know of an app which places a limited number of phone numbers along with the name of the person being called on the screen of the iPhone? Our grandfather is 95 years old, and can not operate the small buttons on most cell phones, and has trouble navigating around the phone to make calls. We just want 3 phone numbers displayed, along with who is being called, so he does not have to navigate to anything except the main screen. Thanks.

When Firefox freezes, how can I shut it down, and re-start it without it automatically going to the site which caused the problem in the first place ?

I have Firefox set so that when I start up, I have it set so that it automatically goes to my home page. However when it freezes, which it does on a daily basis, and I have to shut it down and re-start, it automatically goes to the site which caused the problem in the first place.
If I was a hacker, I would probably find it quite fun to design a virus to reintroduce bugs after they had been exterminated - except that Firefox seem to have got there first.

Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' preference and enter 0 (that's a zero) and click OK.
When Firefox resumes after a crash, instead of resuming automatically, it will display a list of your previous windows and tabs and you can deselect problem pages.
(This assumes it wasn't a private browsing session.)

Well in ABAP, we don't have portal APIs to access potal catalog info.
The only available Portal Interface is IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION

From this you can derivate the iView name, it's com.sap.portal.createNewUser. Searching within the PCD, this iView (independent of the super admin role) can be found under pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/admin.templates/iviews/com.sap.portal.createNewUser
Checking this iView, the Code Link returns com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.CreateNewUser. This component is not creatable through "new iView from PAR" (for the reason see Browse deployment iview ).
On the other hand, if you need the URL, just open the page, choose "Add to browser favorites" from the page options, and then you'll see the working URL within your IE favorites, in this case:
http://myportal:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role/com.sap.portal.user_administration/com.sap.portal.user_management/com.sap.portal.createNewUser
