In which situation I need to active objects after transport

Hi Experts,
    I'm wondering in which situation I need to active object after transport?  In some cases, I have to active transformation, DTP, infoobject, multiprovider....  Does any one make a conclusion of that?
    thanks in advance.
Eric

Sometimes, because of impact of a transport some other objects will be deactivated, then we need to manuaaly activate the objects after transport.
Also, sometimes transport after import process could not be able to activate the objects, then also we have to activate them manually.
Or suppose, you have moved and infoobject, due to which some other objects become inactive (where ever infoobjects is being used), then we have to activate them manually, if you dont want to transport them.

  • Deactivated objects after transport of Analytics Security Object

    Hello Experts,
    We made a release Upgrade to 7.3. To garantee the access to our reports I implemented a lot new Analytics Security Objects. In our development system they are all activated. After transporting them into the quality system, all of them are deactived and not usable.
    Do you have any ideas?

    Hi Sujai,
    Just check is your ODS object Locked or any process job is running on it.
    Was your transport successful.

  • Activated Objects in Transport Request

    Hi Friends ,
                   Currenlty we have comepleted all our development in BD1 and collected all the objects in a transport request , But now my question is what is the best way to check all the activated objects are included in the transports to be released to BQ system ?
    Any inputs greatly accepted,

    there is no easy way to check if all the needed objects for a whole project are captured in a request or not. As the objects may be scattered across the infoareas, the only fool proof way to be sure, is to manually check all the objects - if it is included in the request or not. or the check in the transport connection to see if you are missing any of the dependent objects (perhaps the easiest)have a check list of objects and make sure of the dependencies so that they can transported in order.
    sequence should be:
    DS, IO, App components, IO catalogs
    cube and ODS
    transformations
    DTP and infopacks
    multi providers
    queries
    PChains

  • Regenerating the object after Transport

    Hi,
    We are seeing a issue which we had not seen earlier.
    If there is any user exit  changed, the object is not getting activated unless we regenerate the object in the target environment.
    Basically Include programs are not activated in the target system after we import the transport request. know
    Every time after import we are manually regenerating the object in the target environment.
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hello Kumar,
    You need to check transport logs to see how is the transport imported i.e with errors or warnings. In case any error or warning transport log showing then resolve those in source system and create new transport request.
    Thanks,
    Augustin.

  • Enhancement Spot Activation problem after Transport

    Hi All,
    We are implementing  enhancement spot as per certain requirement. Everything is fine in the deveopment system. But once we move the object to quality system the program execution is not going into the implementation, although Enhancement spot implemention is available in Quality.
    Currently we are going into Quality system and activating Enhancement spot manually, even thoug this solves the problem we are worried about the production system. Because we wont be having access to production system.
    Has anyone faced these kind of scenarios?
    Regards,
    Antony

    I am facing the same issue. However I learnt that we might need to use Adjusting Tool from  Object Navigator/SE80 on the implementation before transporting.

  • Why only receiver cc need to create manually after transportation?

    Hi Friends,
    I heard that when objects are moved from one environment to other environment the receiver Communication channel need to be created manually again. My question is why only receiver cc, why not sender cc?
    Regards,
    Suresh.

    Suresh,
    When transporting objects in the Integration Directory, some fields are indeed cleared. However, this is both in sender and receiver communication channels.
    The fields that are cleared are field that contain environment-specific data, such as hostnames, URLs etc.

  • Master Data activation error after transport

    Hi,
    we have a problem in a custom master data. In development system we add 2 navigation attribute to the master data and then we transport in quality system.
    After the transportation of the IO the master data bacame inactive in quality and there is no way to reactivate them.
    The message error is the following:
    Charateristic ZAA_COB: Navigation attribute ZAA_COB__ZCTB00001 switched on (-> N.B long text)
    Characteristic ZAA_COB: Size of X/Y table does not fit P/Q table
    Error when activating InfoObject ZAA_COB
    We tryed with Tx: RSRV but the check produces dump error
    We tryed with a second CR with the only IO involved but the error was the same.
    We cannot delete the master data content.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Alberto

    Characteristic ZAA_COB: Size of X/Y table does not fit P/Q table
    Can you look up OSS or SDN on this particular message " Size of X/Y table does not fit P/Q table".
    Error when activating InfoObject ZAA_COB
    We tryed with Tx: RSRV but the check produces dump error
    This obviously means something is wrong. Take help of BASIS folks too to understand the Short-Dump.
    We tryed with a second CR with the only IO involved but the error was the same.
    We cannot delete the master data content.
    Since its Test, could you delete the data in all InfoProviders that use this InofObject, then, Delete Master Data and then re-transport. Later, load all these InfoProviders. Its one option.
    Obviously all the involved attribute are already transported in Test system. I tryed to adjust with se14 the M (view), X (SID) and P table of the master data tables. Now I have the two attribute only in the attribute tab of the IO but in all the tables they disappear.
    Did you do the "S-table too". not that it matters, since you are already there, you can complete it. Also, don;t get tempted to Delete Master Data from SE14 no matter what.
    I tryed to re-transport but i have always the same error.
    I already gave you option-1 above. Here is my thinking.
    Option-2: Go to DEV. Open the main InfoObejct in change mode. Go to the Attributes tab. There, there will be a small box where you can give numbers. Why don't you re-number them from "1" till the end. This is the sequence of how the attributes show up in pop-up boxes.
    ext, run the RSRV test on the InfoObject in DEV.
    After you do this, collect this InfoObject in a new transport and move it to Test.
    I am not sure it wil solve the problem, but its worth a try.
    But look into OSS notes on specific error message that you got. If I think of anything else, I will get back to you.

  • Object after "FROM" keyword needed

    hi Friends,
    I have one question . I want to get the object in a variable in sql or pl/sql which is being queried against (the object after FROM key word)
    For e.g. in the below statements
    select *from v$active_session_history
    select *from emp where empno=20;
    How can i get v$active_session_history and emp ?
    note: the object can be a view
    One way is to REGEXP , but i am not too familiar with using it solve my problem.
    Why i need it: I have 100s of sql texts and i want to get the object which these sqls are queried against and then use them for further activities.
    10x

    Hi Karthick Arp/BluShadow/#Nishe#/Dave Rabone Thanks for replying. Below are the details of what i want to achieve
    I work on an OLTP application and check new queries which are doing FTS every week.
    I have a script which is called from the cron. It runs a script every Saturday and checks v$sql_plan and v$sqlarea like below
    +++++
    operation = 'TABLE ACCESS'
    AND options = 'FULL'
    and upper(module) not like 'TOAD%' and upper(module) not like '%SQL%'
    +++++
    The script filters out those queries which i have already seen.
    So i have the sql ids and few other details like rows in table etc.
    For doing analysis i most of the times do the below:
    1. TABLE
    Check the indexes for understanding why it is not doing taking the indexes
    2. VIEW
    Check the metadata for the view as to what predicates would be better to avoid it going to FTS ,if possible.
    I want to automate the above 2 steps
    So what i want to do is get :
    a. indexes list if the object is a table?
    b. metadata for the view if the object is a view.
    Below are answers to your questions
    How about table or view that are part of join or scalar subquery or correlated subquery or subquery factoring etc.. Do you want them as well?
    --Yes i want them all Are all your SQL statements simple selects? Or are they more complex, containing subqueries etc.?
    --More complex And if the object is a view, do you need to know the base tables?
    --No

    Hi,
    <i>How to know which master data objects need to activated from delivery version to active version in R/3 for a particular standard cube like 0SD_C03.</i>
    I think, you are looking for master data sources(text,attributes,hier).Am i right?
    If so, This cube has almost all SD master data characterstics. So you can activate all the all master data datasources of SD in r/3 (SD-IO).
    Any way you requirement does not stop only by using this cube . You will activate all other cubes in SD also. So if you want to activate only needed master data datasources when you are activating a cube, the job becomes senseless. There is no problem(wrong) in activating all master data available under that application , even though you want to activate only one cube.

    Its better to use DMV's to view only active sessions from users (spid>50) as mentioned by Shanky.
    You can do that using sp_who2 but it requires a bit of programming to list only user sessions.

  • MXML binding creating activation-object which seems to be memory leak

    We are profiling our application trying to cut down some memory leaks and I have some loitering objects that are puzzling me.  I have searched on the internet and have seen others with similar issues, but thought I'd post here to see if I am on the right track and if anything can be done about it.  In our _bindingsSetup method that is generated from the MXML:
        private function _ManageFavoritesDialogBulb_bindingsSetup():Array
            var result:Array = [];
            var binding:Binding;
            binding = new mx.binding.Binding(this,
                function():Class
                    return (ManageFavoritesDialogView);
                function(_sourceFunctionReturnValue:Class):void
                    _ManageFavoritesDialogBulb_View1.className = _sourceFunctionReturnValue;
                "_ManageFavoritesDialogBulb_View1.className");
            result[0] = binding;
            // ... more bindings
    While profiling the app, we have a more than a handful of GC roots that say result and binding are activation objects that are causing a whole bunch of stuff to be held onto.  Is this accurate?  If so, is there anything we can do about it other than not using MXML?
    Irv

    Thanks for the quick replies.  I went to your blog and watched the presentation you had on profiling (very nice), but my application is still having a memory leak I am having trouble locating.  We have found many and have cleaned them up, but this scenario is proving pesky.  I have a very simple scenario I am working with now.  I use a PopupManager and put a component in it.  I then tell the popupManager to removePopup.  For some reason, my component is being held onto (and all the references it is holding onto).  I am using Flex 3.5 but using FlashBuilder to profile.  It tells me on my component there are 0 paths to the GC root, and I have clicked on most of the items found in loitering (this is a create and destroy scenario) and they all say 0 paths.  Do you know of any known issues with PopupManager that I should be looking for?  The only thing showing a path to GC root are some of the bindings and activation objects.  (I am hoping it is not them as you pointed out)  I assume when it says 0 paths to GC root it means there are only circular references keeping it around correct?
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Does new 1402 Activity object in Cloud for Customer have wrong data type namespaces?

    I see that the individual "activity" objects (e.g., ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc) are being deprecated as of 1405 and moving to a new Activity object with a TypeCode. That makes a lot of sense.
    In reviewing this new Activity object, I've noticed that many of the node elements utilize Data Types in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace instead of the http://sap.com/xi/AP/Common/GDT. For example, the root node element UUID has a data type UUID in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace, unlike all the other objects in the Public Solution Model.
    There are many more elements in this new Activity object that are mismatched like this to other common usage in other objects. Is this a new trend or a mistake?

    Hello Gregory, Alessandro,
    just for clarification:
    SAP wanted to eliminate the superflous supplementary components from the data types used in the Business Objects.
    Take the GDT Identifier as an example. It has the following supplementary components:
    SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_VERSION_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    CONTENT
    You very seldom need the SCHEME_ID or the SCHEME_AGENCY_ID (if the ID is a GTIN or DUNS number then you need them). I never came over a situation to use the SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID.
    So the data types from the "new" namespace omit those components. But SAP noticed the effort to adapt all the coding.
    Therefore it was decided that only new objects will use the data types from the new namepace.
    In the case of the ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc. this wil requires - as Alessandro mentioned - some adoption effort.

  • New LabHSM Toolkit - Agile development of complex event-driven maintainable LabVIEW applications with active objects / actors based on a universal Hierarchical State Machine / statechart template.

    Dear Fellow LabVIEW programmers:
    Most of the systems you deal with are reactive. It means that their
    primary function is constant interaction with their environment by
    sending and receiving events. But most likely, they can have something
    happening inside them too, even when they are not processing messages
    received from outside. So, such systems have to continuosly react to
    external and internal stimuli. Right? Moreover, most likely, they
    consist of subsystems that are reactive too and, in turn, can have
    their own "life", to an extent independent from other parts (with
    which they still communicate, of course). Reactive (event-driven)
    systems are more naturally modeled with active objects. So, why then
    should we try to model and code them with GOOP and its passive
    ("dead"!) objects?
    "Flat" State Machines have been known for decades to have severe
    limitations. It's been more than 20 years since Dr. Harel invented
    Hierarchical State Machines (statecharts) to fight those limitations.
    Then why does NI still tout the same old good Moore FSM as the
    ultimate tool for event-driven programming in LabVIEW in its $995
    State Diagram KIt?
    The LabHSM toolkit we are happy to present, makes it possible to
    easily create and then maintain complex event-driven applications in
    LabVIEW as a collection of HSM-driven active object VIs using a higher
    level of abstraction and agile software development methodologies.
    These active object VIs are created based on a universal Hierarchical
    State Machine ( HSM or statechart ) template. So. all your code looks
    similar regardless of its functionality!
    We all love just jump to code, right? However, to be good boys, we
    need to do design first. Then implement it in code. If the logic is
    modified we need to redo the design first and then redo the code. When
    using LabHSM where behavior information is abstracted into a separate
    HSM data file editable with a supplied editor, there is no need for
    coding separate from design any more. The modified behavior becomes
    code automatically as soon as the HSM file is saved. Design is code!
    The implementation basically follows Dr. Samek's Quantum Programming
    paradigm. (see http://www.quantum-leaps.com). However, as already
    mentioned, LabHSM stores the behavior information in a file separate
    from the code itself. It also adds state dependent priorities to
    events, a separate queue for public events/messages, and, of course,
    some LabVIEW specific code like capturing front panel user events and
    putting them into the private Events queue. Communication and
    instantiation functions are also rather specific for LabVIEW.
    It is available for UNLIMITED PERIOD trial. Please visit
    http://www.labhsm.com for details and download. The site also contains
    references which you may want to check to learn more about
    hierarchical state machines and active object computing.
    Since this is our debut we will appreciate any comments and
    suggestions. Our contact information is available on our site, of
    course.

  • Deleting not needed objects after impl. of a solution

    Hello everyone,
    some time back, we developed a solution in BW7.0. All queries, reports are working fine.
    We don't need to feed our data targets anymore. In order to keep these upward queries operational, We want to keep only needed objects i.e. cubes, Multiproviders, DSOs...etc while delete everything else which are not needed like DSOs, transformations, routines, DTPs, Process chains...etc.
    What could be no. of steps to consider and how to access the impact of deleting any object. Any guidelines?
    Thanks
    Ahsan

    Hi,
    Thanks for replying. We don't need to update data. Queries are using data from certain Multiproviders where data are residing in IC, DSOs and InfoObjects.
    Main thing to check is: if an Active table of a DSO is being used in any routine of another transformation or anywhere else which we don't want to delete. This is like doing the impact analysis of a deletion of a DSO. If a DSO being used under MP1 and here we say we want to delete it, but then may be this DSO is being used under MP4 where we want to keep it, end decision keep the DSO.
    Following a post on SDN, I checked in RSAABAP table by giving active table of a certain DSO and it shows no entries. But I am sure we have used this DSO's active table in some routines.
    Any input, please share
    Thanks
