In Windows 8, after connecting to VPN - Wireless datacard connection disconnects. Once i disconnect VPN, 3G datacard internet connection comes back.. Any idea

Not able to access my remote machine using VPN in Windows 8.
VPN connected successfully resulting internet disconnection .
I am using Wireless 3G datacard device for internet.
But the same VPN connection is working fine in WIFI & I able to access remote machine. Not sure why the problem when connecting from device.
Plz help me out guys.

What kind of VPN client are you using? You can try the following suggestion for a test.
1) Get into VPN Properties
2) Select "Security" tab
3) Click "Allow these protocols" radio button and check the "Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2)" box
4) Select Networking Tab; select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties"
5) Click "Advanced"
6) Uncheck box for "Use default gateway on remote network"

Before I upgraded to Mavericks, I was able to print over the network to a printer attached to a Windows PC. Now, I receive the message, "connection refused." any ideas as to why this may be and what I can do about it would be appreciated.

I had reconfigured all of the settings the same as in the previous OS X. The only thing I can think of that may be causing this is that the printer is an older Canon Pixma iP4300 and the Canon site doesn't have a driver for the new OS X. The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

Tried that by shutting down via the power button only as the normal shutdown was nixed by the open window issue. It did not help. Found a very similar question in the discussions and it recommended "Force Quit". That worked and the update works normal and the window is gone. Thanks!

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

It might be that you now need a new version of iTunes for the new version of iOS.

No, sounds like when you dropped it an cracked the screen it may have also damaged the logic board or the repair person damaged a cable.
