In yahoo email at attatchment will not automatically open as it does with other computers with firefox

on all my other computers running firefox/yahoo/mail , if I open an attachment(ie pdf) the appropriate program automatically opens the attatchment. On this computer it only goes as far as the download window and I then have to tell it to open from the download window.This is a win-xp os. my others are win7.

    “AdbeRdr11003_en_US.exe” is the download installed on our CEO’s new Windows 8 laptop.  It is a Dell XPS Re: Windows 8 Adobe Reader will not fully open a pdf compiled with several pdf's into one - why? Dell XPS 13" .  It has a full install Windows 8 Professional for its’ Operating System.
    I’ll attempt to attach the file in question.  The file opens fine on our Windows 7, and XP computers (with  the proper Adobe Reader on each).
    Our CEO says there is a message that comes up saying he needs Adobe Flash.  I’m attempting to find out whether or not he is trying to open it the ‘Metro’ view, or the ‘Desktop’ view – no answer yet.
    If your system strips the attachment, let me know, and I’ll upload the file to an ftp site {if necessary}.

    Others are having problems accessing MSN on Safari on older Safari versions.
    You may have better luck accessing the MSN website on the Firefox browser.
    You may be able to upgrade to Mavericks if your Mac meets the requirements >  OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
    That way you can update Safari to 7.1.

  • For about 2 weeks I have been unable to leave feedback on ebay. Firefox brings up login page but will not accept password. I am having the same problem with my yahoo email. It will not accept my passwords, so I have to use IE to login to these accounts.

    On yahoo email, it accepted my login id, but not password. This started on one account about two weeks ago. Today when I tried to login to another yahoo email, which worked yesterday, but it would not accept my password on this account.
    I bought some items on ebay and wanted to leave feedback. When I clicked on the leave feedback button a sign in window appeared, this should not have happened, when I tried to sign in, it would not accept my password. I called ebay and was told they have had many complaints from customers using firefox when trying to leave feedback. The help desk suggested I try with Internet Explorer, I did, and it worked perfectly.
    I have been using firefox for a long time and really do not want to go back to IE, but when I cannot sign into my accounts, I can't, so I will have to use IE.
    As far as I know, no new programs have been installed on this computer.

    Thank you for your question, I understand that it is annoying to have to move a new window to the second screen. Since it opens in the active screen this may have been a stored preference, however it is not the default.
    There is an add on called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master] that customizes settings like this. Check it out.

    Hello, on first opening of firefox it automatically opens the home page but then every time I need to open again I have to go to file and either click on new tab/window/location or go to bookmarks and open a page from bookmarks. On my other laptop and PC it's automatically open when clicking on the firefox symbol. Please can you advise the error. I have been onto preferences and can find no solution. Thank you

  • Application Error, certain sites not showing everything and will not automatically open downloaded files

    When I open Firefox I get the Application Error message "The instruction at "0x00000000" reference memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program" Firefox does then open but parts of sites are missing such as videos or animations. checked the plugins and all are up to date. Tried unistalling and re-installing Firefox but get the same error. Also when I download files and click open it doesnt open them, I have to go to the file location and open it. Started when I updated to version 3.6.6. IE8 works fine.

    I am currently using Mozilla/5.0 Firefox/3.6.12. After having upgraded to this version I find that email links to my Outlook client will not automatically open a new email page pre-populated with the recipient's address. All other links on the page have worked correctly.

    In the article, only plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types was present. After resetting then closing Firefox, normal service was resumed.

  • Ipad will not automatically set date and time

    My ipad drained and when I recharged it the date read 31 Dec 1970.  Now it will not automatically connect and update the date and time, and cannot connect to itunes.  I can recieve emails on this device but I can's send emails.  So it must have some kind of connectivity...would appreciate any comments or help.  Very frustrated.

    Try resetting it.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • Why will images will not automatically load in apple mail despite having the setting turned on correctly

    I have had this ongoing problem. I cannot get images to automatically load in mail. Instead I always have to click the load images button. I click on a message, click load images, the images load. I click on another message, then back to the message with the images and have to reload them.
    In preferneces I have turned the View>Load remote HTML images on and off and on again, and rebotted multiple times. It makes no difference. The images do not load.
    I checked Little Snitch, but all ports are open.
    My firewall is set to let everything connect to mail. Even just turning off the firewall does not solve the problem.
    I tried removing com.apple.mail.plist but that did not work either.
    This problem occurs in Mail on a MacBook Pro and on a MacBook Air both using the newest version of OS Mountain Lion. The problem happened in OS Lion as well.
    The senders are in my contacts, so that doesn't help either.
    This is not an issue with the serve sending the images. The images load if I click load images. They just will not automatically laod.
    I've read tons of posts but no one seems to know how to solve the problem.
    Does anyone have any other ideas?

    This is not a problem specific to Lion, but most recent OS X versions. Regularly I receive email formatted as HTML, which includes JPEG images embedded within them. These images are technically attachments, and as such, Mail.app displays them as a placeholder. Other mail apps will display these images inline, regardless of them being an attachment, remote image or otherwise.
    How can I make these images load automatically?
    MacBook, Unibody, Mac OS X (10.7), 750GB, 7200RPM WD HDD, 4GB RAM 
    This solved my question by louse101  on Jul 26, 2011 3:47 AM 
    No-one replied, but I found a solution on another board. Run Terminal (do a Spotlight search if you don't know where to find this), and type:
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
    This will force Mail not to disable inline attachment viewing. Obviously, to reverse this, simple replace 'false' at the end with 'true'.
