In Yahoo Mail: Windows 7 "swirling circle" next to cursor never stops.

Using Yahoo Mail Classic. After sign-in, upon clicking on any folder (Inbox, Drafts etc) cursor is accompanied by the Windows 7 "swirling circle" wherever it is placed on the page. EXCEPT when cursor is placed on a LINK. "Swirling circle" then disappears from cursor until it is moved off the link when it then reappears. Can SOMETIMES cure this by clicking on another folder, then return to "Inbox." Also notice that Firefox loads a website much slower than IE8. This happens MOST of the time, NOT always. Many thanks for your help!

First, you are running Firefox 7, which is EXTREMELY Old and Insecure, which not only leaves you open to many known bugs, but to dozens of known security issues which can be exploited to compromise your personal data.
So, your first step is going to be to upgrade to Firefox 15.0.1. [[Update Firefox to the latest version]].
After that, does Yahoo Work properly?

    Hello Chett.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Also, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Port Configurations, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
How many accounts do you have and what type are they (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
Do you have any Mail plug-ins installed? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there?
    /Library/InputManagers/
    ~/Library/InputManagers/
    /Library/Mail/Bundles/
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

After opening my yahoo mail window, I keep getting a very short and narrow dialogue box with the words "log into Xmarks" I cannot ... when it pops up, always upper left of my laptop screen and I try to get into my yahoo mail web page, I get a DING sound and cannot enter it ... everything is frozen. I have to hit CNTRL + ALT + ESC to get rid of it - and then reload my Firefox browser to get back to my yahoo e-mail page ... fortunately for me, Firefox re-stores a previous session ... How can I get rid of this intrusive thing, and what is it? Thanks in advance ... Ted Beaudoin, Welland, ON, Canada

  • Email contents not visible using Yahoo mail, Windows 7 pro, FF3.6; email content fine in IE

New laptop with Windows 7 pro; loaded FF....worked fine for a couple weeks....then, contents in email no longer visible-----just blank box where text would normally appear. Only known changes were auto updates to adobe and auto updates to Windows. Zonealarm security in place since beginning, no changes since installation. When using IE, email is visible.
Just uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Same result....emails still not visible.
Appreciate any suggestions.....I hate using IE.

When you send mail the field you mention is used to populate the "ReplyTo: fild in the mail header. Otherwise it has no purpose and setting it to nothing will also work.
Yahoo are obviously checking that field as you send mail. that is points to a valid address, and I have a sneaking suspicion that is might be required to point to your yahoo mail account.
Historically the"Nigerian" type scam emails used a replyto address completely different from the one used to send the mail. So even if the sending account was closed down they still got the replies. The mail quite commonly originated in Yahoo and replied to Hotmail accounts. So I guess they have a check to try and discourage that legitimate, but undesirable from their perspective, use.

  • How do I stop yahoo mail window?

Everytime I open Mozilla Firefox I get an extra window opening up that says "Yahoo Mail" and offering me the chance to say my user name and password.I dont want to do that and I got sick of having to keep on closing it everytime I started up,which is why I changed browsers.I would like to use Firefox again but if I cant find a way of stopping that little window opening its not going to happen.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

This is of no help. Good bye Firefox! Will not be using this browser anymore.

  • Re: g6t-2000 loading circle next to cursor will not stop blinking

I have the same problem.I got a blinking circle on my screen and every time this circle show up, i have to turn off my pc because don't let me do nothing. Any solution for that issue? My pc:HP ENVY Recline TouchSmart All in One - 27-k350 (ENERGY STAR)Número de modelo: J4W47AA

Hi again Andieco, It is good to hear back from you! If your computer is not freezing when you are referring to a white circle, there may be an issue with the touch screen software installed on your computer. To correct this, I suggest re-installing all of the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8), and then update the software by Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). If the white cursor will not stop blinking after performing the steps in the documents above, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point to before the issue occurred. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). This should return your system back to factory defaults.
If the issue persists, please call our technical support by clicking the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • BT Yahoo mail and Internet Explorer display issues

There seems to be a problem with using a version of Internet Explorer whilst looged into BY Yahoo Mail:
    Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 - IE 8.0.7601.17514 - Display is OK
XP Professional Version 2002 SP3 - IE 8.0.6001.18702CO - See attached for what it looks like, It has a similar appearnce to what it might look like in text mode. IMPORTANT - This worked fine up until around 27th June 2012, then the problem started. If you click on the Mail icon, to get your Inbox, again, it renders better, but doesn't work - I just get the waiting icon (circle)
Yes, the operating system platforms are different (XP is still supported by MS), and yes the IE version are only _slightly_ different, but this worked up until a week ago, so must assume that some change to the operating system might have caused this, e.g. an update.
    Anyone else seen this?
Are BT aware of this, and if not what can they do about it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    David

  • I can not paste URL's from Safari to my Yahoo mail and need to

    Please note -
I DO NOT WANT TO USE THE APPLE MAIL PROGRAM TO SEND LINKS
I am looking for a practical solution to copying links from the Safari toolbar so that they are 'clickable links' for the recipient when sent from my Yahoo mail.
I have tried many of the suggested solutions that I have found in previous discussions and none of them seem to work with Yahoo.
    Many thanks!!!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
Are you using the 'insert link' icon in the Yahoo! mail toolbar?
    Open Yahoo! mail.
    Compose a new message.
Click the Insert Link icon to open a window similar to the following:
Now you can manually type-in the desired link,
    -or-
cut and paste it from the Safari toolbar, as follows:
Open the desired page you want to link to in another tab in Safari.
Highlight the link, by clicking and dragging until the entire URL is highlighted. I click on the icon at the beginning of the URL, and it is automatically highlighted. (That 'highlight' behavior is not consistent with other browsers, such as Google Chrome, by the way.)
Copy it by pressing the Command and the C keys at the same time to 'Copy' the desired link, or use the Safari toolbar word menu, Edit, and Copy.
Move to the tab with the open Yahoo mail window, click the 'chain-link' icon to open the Yahoo! dialog box as shown above
Now press Command and the V keys at the same time to 'Paste' the link into the open dialog box, or use the Safari toolbar menu, Edit, and Paste.
At this point, the URL should appear in blue underscore within the Yahoo! email message as a clickable link to the page.
In the first screenshot above with the arrow, you see the URL for this thread shown twice, once in black (simply cut and pasted), and the second in blue underscore (clickable), using the Insert Link icon as described.
UPDATE: After sending the test message I composed above with Yahoo! mail to a Gmail account, both the links actually were clickable, so it might depend upon how the email service receiving the message handles links.

  • Yahoo mail on iPhone just stopped working

I've been using Mail to access my yahoo mail account for years, and yesterday it just stopped working on my iphone4 and iPad. I updated to iOS 4.3 a while ago so it was fine since then. I get the typical error message that the server can't be reached. Any ideas?

Looks like yahoo issued a fix. Mail is working again.

  • Why does my Yahoo Mail consistently "stall" or "freeze" when I check my email using Firefox.

I press a button (such as "send" or "delete"), and nothing happens. No error message. Nothing. Occasionally if I wait long enough, the program responds. Doesn't seem to be a problem on other browsers.

Yahoo Mail freezes Safari on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.7.2) and I have been force reloading pages to free it up again. Now that doesn't seem to work either. This evening I about given up on using Safari with Yahoo altogether. I don't why this has to be - I've been using Yahoo Mail on my Macs since 2001 and never had trouble. For now, I'll be using Firefox for my email but I'd sure like to go back to using Safari.

  • Why can sometimes get my yahoo mail then next time i cant  and i log on the same way each time

why can sometimes i get my yahoo mail on the i pad   then the next time i try it wont log  into yahoo mail   it will show at the top right corner that i have mail but still won't open

You can consider to use Firefox Sync to sync all the profiles.
You can do a custom install of each version and install each version in its own program folder.<br />
Safest is to modify the desktop shortcut and add -P "profile name" to the command line to start each version with its own profile.<br />
Be careful with clicking a file in Windows Explorer to open the default browser, so make sure to select the correct profile in the profile manager and check the don't ask setting.

Thank you, "the-edmeister" -- You render a great service, one that lifts my spirits.
Your answer also taught me to be a little more persistent, as I had started looking at Preferences, and just didn't notice the icons (including Applications) at the top of that window that would have led me to my answer.
