Inability to assign freight vendor at header condition level

Hello all
We are working on ECC 5.0 but will shortly be moving to ECC 6.0.
We have a scenario where raw materials are purchased from one vendor and delivered by a freight carrier (for which we are liable). To satisfy a Finance requirement to capture freight costs as part of RM valuation, we have created new freight conditions and set them as Header conditions and Group conditions - this allows the freight costs to be set at header level (ie per delivery) and then distributed across several PO items. Provided the freight carrier is defined against the PO freight condition, the freight invoice can then be matched with reference to the original RM PO.
However, we then wish to assign the freight carrier vendor to the freight condition and it appears this is only possible at the item level, which is time-consuming and inefficient if there are a high number of different materials/items on the PO.
I have checked the forums, SAP Notes, Google and even asked SAP - SAP said that it was standard functionality that freight carriers could only be assigned at item level (even though the conditions have been assigned at the header level).
Does anybody know a way of assigning the freight carrier vendor at PO header condition level?
Thanks
Oliver

All
Following the upgrade of our systems from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0, we now find that a freight vendor can be maintained against the freight header condition record. This means that when the PO is created (relevant for that freight condition), the freight vendor will default against the condition at the header level.
The only problem remains when you wish to change the freight vendor - this still has to be done at the item level but it is an improvement on the ECC 5.0 functionality.

  • Mass update of freight vendor in PO condition

    Dear All,
I need to do mass update the freight vendor in purchase order (vendor code given in the PO planned delivery condition),Is there any way to achieve this instead of doing it manually I mean selecting PO's one by one? Thanks for your advise in advance!
    BR,
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
Mass updation of Freight Vendor in Purchase Order  is not possible in Standrad. However, you can develop small custom report to update the Freight Vendor against freight condition for Open POs.
Secondly, Maintain Freight condition using condition Record/Access Seq and Specify the Freight Vendor. So that it get automatically picked up for the newly created Purhcase Orders.

  • Header condition for Freight charges

    Gurus,
What happens when i create the Freight charges as a header condition. Is it possible to work with planned delivery charges with header freight condition

    Hi.
If you maintain freight charges as header condition, it can be counted as planned delivery cost.
If you have several items, the value of header condition will be distributed to the each item
    per the item price.
    ex)
    item 1 :  1 pc * 60 usd
    item 2 :  1 pc * 40 usd
    Header condition : 10 usd
Then 6 usd will be add to item 1 and 4 usd will be added to item 2.
    Best regards.

  • Why we cant have access sequence for header condition ?

    hi ,
i have one query in pricing.
Can we assign access sequence for header condition ? if yes how ?
if not why ? please explain

    Hi there,
It is always possible to have work around to solve issue without refer to OSS to change any programming coding.
We want to have a freight charge appear on each sales order automatically according to some condition. Most of the time, this freight charge is a flat rate (if it is depend on qty or value, then we're so easy to set it in item level).
In order to do so, we'll have one assumption. The item line number of sales order is auto running number, like 10, 20 and etc created by system and not manually input.
Then we create a pricing condition type like other discount or charge in ITEM LEVEL with your selected condition like customer, sales office, country and etc. However, remember to add the sales item line as part of the condition of this pricing condition.
Update the pricing procedure and create price condition record with say "10" for the sales item line. Since you'll have line number 10 for all sales order as first line (no mater it is a free of charge item or not). This new condition will generate a "freight cost" in the pricing procedure. And it is only apply to first line, therefore, we only get once of this charge for one order.
Hope this is your case and it works with ours.
    Michael

  • Can pricing requirement be used for manual header condition

I have a manual header condition ZCR1 which will be entered in a sales document with doc type ZAB1. When this sales document is copied into another sales document ZAB2, I want that the manual header condition ZCR1 is not determined. Can I do this via pricing requirement? Or should I use alternation formula for condition base value and make the value of condition ZCR1 to zero when the document is copied into ZAB2.
Both the document types are using the same pricing procedure. In copy control for all item categories from ZAB1 to ZAB2, pricing type G (Copy pricing elements unchanged and re-determine taxes). ZCR1 is a manual condition in the pricing procedure used.
    Regards
    Javed

    Hi javed
If you want the ZCR1 manual header condition should not be determined then you need to change the pricing type in the copy control but if you assign a requirement in the pricing procedure for ZCR1 condition type  then you cant enter the ZCR1 condition type manually also as you are not meeting your requirement.
Another option is you have to create a new requirement with the help of Technical consultant ans assign it to the  header condition type in the pricing procedure requirement feild . giving inputs to your Technical consultant that The condition type  should not be determined

i have mapped this with SAP by including a Condition Type FRB1 and declaring my Vendor "B" inside this condition detail,
can i do like this for Third party frieght vendor?(Hope this process is rite !!!)
    Now the problem is
1.After executing the PO this condition type(FRB1) is also included in Net price ,,,and
total Actual price is coming as 80 $
2.In PO printout for main vendor "A" the frieght condition type is also get printed as 5 $ and total actual cost is coming as 80 $.
I should not want this FRB1 to be included to print in PO and total net value in this po should be printed without this Freight Cost which is for Freight Vendor "B".

    Dear friends
I am facing a unique problem. Problem is related to Head Office &
Branch relationship. When i post a document through FB70 (FI manual
Sales Booking) system is updating Head office and post the document
which is correct. We can view the particular transaction though FBL5N
    report for Head office customer.
Now if i book sales through Sales Order ie SD Module, System is not
Updating Head office customer in the Accounting Document. We can view
Accounting Document in Branch Customer only using FBL5N report. when we
run FBL5N for Head Office Customer, it is not showing billing document.
We have maintained Head Office field in Branch Customer master data.
We have maitained Branch as SP / BP / PY / SH under partner function
under Sales Area Tab of Branch Customer Master data.
    Waiting for your reply

  • What is the difference Item and Header condition?

In Condition type screen, inside Control data1 section there are two fields Header Condition and Item condition. What is the relevance of these two fields and what is the diference between them?
    Thanks In Advance
    Prakash

    HI
Header condition as the name suggests is a condition type which is applied at the header level only. The header condition is always manual and no condition record can be maintained for this. There is no access sequence for the header condition. When you select a header condition in a sales order in pricing and give the rate for the same then this rate will be applicable for the whole document that is for all the items. In some cases it works proportionately. Like suppose you have header freight condition type 'HD00'. You have multiple line items in the sales order. When you give a rate for the same then it will be distributed proportionately among the line items depending upon the weight or basic price.
    Std SAP header condition types:
    HA00 - Percentage discount
    HB00 - Discount (Value)
    HD00 - Freight
    HM00 - Order value
    RD00 - Weight discount
    ITEM CONDTION:
Item conditions as the name suggests are given at the item level only. In the same sales order if there are 2 line items then, for the line item 10, the condition types may be different and for the line item 20 there may be different condition types. Like for eg: Discounts, say material discount 'K004". This condition type may be applicable for line item 10 and for the line item 20, it may not be applicable.
    Std SAP item condition types:
    PR00 - basic price
    K007 - customer discount
    K005 - customer/material discount
    KF00 - freight
So basically, header condition applies to all line items in the document and the item conditions are applicable at the line item level.
When you double click on a condition type in t.code V/06, there in the section "Changes which can be made" here you will see options like:
header condition - if you tick the condition type becomes header condition
Item condition - if you tick this then condition type becomes item condition.
    manual entries
    delete
    amount / percent
    value
    qty relation
    calculation type
If a condition type is applicable for all items in the document then it is better to select the condition type as header as it will save the item.Reward points if solution helps.

  • Header Condition Records for Promotions

    Hi,
I have created a sales deal with a promotion with say X payment terms and customer/material promotional discounts.
The issue is that the while order is created deal is being picked up at the item level for material price conditions. i.e. it shows the discount and the payment terms as per the sales deal.
The Header level pmt terms do not change. How can I include at Header condition level a payment term as per the sales deal for auto determination.
Also how can a Header conidition type say RB00 discount be added to the sales deal for auto determination as in a sales deal the only option of valid conditon types to create condition records is essentially K007, KA00, K020, PR00.
One guess I have here is to add condtion type RB00, but which table, looks like then it probably gets into modifying ABAP table KNUMA. Is there something I am missing here for an alternative way out!!
    Tks!!

    Hi UN,
I didnt gte you question.. as my understanding, you can put payment terms in 3 levels...
    1) Company code level,
    2) Sales area level
    3) Item level
if you give three payment terms, at order level sales area will come and item level it come at item level.. goto vk11 and go additional data tabpage give payment terms.. you will get when ever you are giveing that discount...
    Reward if it helps..

  • Freight vendor invoice before MIGO--please suggest

    Hi,
    I have a requirement.
I have a PO with 20 line items and i have got a header freight condition with different vendor assigned to it in condition.
Now I want to pay to freight vendor even before the goods are received.
In short, I will post Vendor(freight supplier) Invoice by MIRO refering to the delivery cost before GR.
However, since I have not done the GR , it will be a very hectic way for me to apportion the freght cost(say 1500 us$) in to all the 20 items as system will not suggest me anything in the amount and quantity columns.
However, I want to pay to the freight supplier so I do not have to worry about the quantity.
But since the quantity and amount is not suggested I will have to have the precalculation and I have to put the exact calculated amount on each line item.
Can not this be avoided or is there any better way for this.
I know this is not standard requirement but if there are 200 items then imagine how difficult it would be.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    manOO

    Hi,
this calcualtion part has to be dealt in manual calculation. but total value comes on the right side of MIRO for your information.

  • Condition Record for a Header Condition?????

    Friends,
The Client has a business requirement as follows:
1.They have over 100 transport vendors to cater to their
    Shipping requirements across the country.
2.The freight charges are different for all transporters.
    3. These charges are to be put at the HEADER level in the Sales Order.
    6. They do not want to enter the freight charges manually (referring to a seperately maintained freight charges/transporter list).
    6. They want the freight charges to be put at header level AUTOMATICALLY once the Transporter is chosen from the header partner function.
Is it possible to maintain a condition record for a condition which is defined as a 'Header Condition'.
To the best of my knowledge, we cannot maintain a condition record for a Header Condition.Header condition means all values are to be put manully.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Mohammed Raheel

    Hi Mate,
Here you go. This is the best solution and it should work for you.
Create the fright condition type and uncheck the check boxes header condition and item condition. This action will let you enter an access sequence for the condition type. This fulfills the requirement for having the condition type to be automatic.
For this condition type to appear only at the header level and not at the item level, this is quite tricky. First thing that struck my mind is to check the "group condition" and point the "grp cond routine* to 1. This does not work because you have unchecked the Header Condition check box.
The other alternative to acheive the second requirement keeping the first requirement in place is to write a routine and assign it to the requirements column against the freight condition type in the pricing procedure. The routine will make sure that this condition is not picked up at the item level. If it is picked up you delete it programatically.
Please make sure you do not mark this condition as manual in the pricing procedure.
    This should work.
    Thanks

  • Planned Delivery Cost in MIRO for different freight vendor

    Hi,
Kindly share, how to get rid of above issue:
    1) PO created with a freight condition (FRA1 with a different vendor assigned to it under item conditions tab)
    2) GR done, & all accounting entries were OK, (including freight costs in FR1 or FR3)
    3) while doing MIRO with selection Planned-Delivery-Cost, Amount & Qty fields are "Blank" and auto flowing from Clearing A/cs
I found this error in both Domestic or Import POs.
I've read many threads, but could not find a clear solutions for the same.
    Plz help
    Sankar

    Hi,
    Plz find screens.
Amount & Qty fields not flowing in MIRO from open GRIR/clearing account balance.

  • Freight vendor updation in GR document through BAPI

    Dear All
In my system we are creating Goods Receipt in background through *BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE*. In my PO we have entered freight condition FRB1 for that PO line item and assigned a vendor code different from material vendor. For this freight condition FRB1 in the configuration we have maintained in Control Data 2 field Vendor in GR as 2 ( i.e. Entry always possible). This will help us to change freight vendor different from freight vendor maintained in PO line item.
Now my query is that how can I achieve this through BAPI  BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE when I am creating GR in background. In which field of BAPI should we pass the freight vendor at the time of GR creation.
    Regards
    Satish Kumar

    Hi Satish,
With standard SAP this is not Possible
As indicated in the attached note 356665, the field SUPPL_VEND has no
function. Please, have a look at this note for further information.
In dialog (with MB01 or MIGO) you have the possibility to enter another
freight vendor different than the vendor in your purchase order (or your
scheduling agreement) as long as you have, in your purchasing condition
type, "Vendor in GR" (V_T685A-BNKWE) maintained with the appropiate
value. Then, by posting the Goods Receipt, you will update EKBZ with
    this new freight vendor.
Unfortunately in the standard system this functionality is not available
when working with the BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE or with the Idoc
    WMMBID02.
There is no customizing setting or tool that you could use inside the
    standard system to change it.

  • How to handle freight vendor ?

    Dear friends,
The scenario is like - Company places the PO to a vendor, say A. In this PO I have freight condition and to this condition I have freight vendor assigned, say B. (e.g. PO contains material price $10 and freight value $1)
I then post the GR and then IR.
Now the thing is do I need to crerate separate PO to freight vendor (for freight charges $1)so that he can send the invoice for freight against that?
or should I directly pay him without separate PO?
    Regards,
    Pat.

    HI,
There is no need to create a seprate PO for freight vendor.
There are two ways to handle this sceneio.
    Procedure 1 : -
Pre-requisite : - Maintain different vendor "B" in frieght condition.
While doing MIRO  select  book freight  into fregight vendor, in miro item column there is planned delivery cost option, selet that and give the po no, then it will askk the vendor, where u select the freight vendor name say B. then it will post to freight vendor.
Second time miro for material vendor, select Good \  service.
    Procedure 2:
Book directly freight  cost to G/L thru FI.
