Inability to log into "My Alerts"
When trying to set up a "My Alert" on an artist, Itunes askes me to log in. It pulls up the correct Itunes account id and whenI put in my password, it tells me it's invalid.
When I go to my account and enter the same password it works.
Ideas?
It's broken again. If I try to manage my alerts, it wants me to sign in and then tells me it can't find the artist. If I try to add a new artist, I just get a never-ending sign in loop.
Contact iTS support from this page

There isn't really a category for store alerts, so I chose Connection > I receive an error

Solution for inability to log into at&t's free wi-fi hotspots for iPhones.
I had been having trouble logging into at&t's supposed free wifi access for iPhones as outlined at http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/internet/wifi.jsp.
My number was not registering as a valid iPhone number and thus, as a result, not qualified for the access.
After numerous support calls, often ending in a transfer to Apple support (not their problem), I found the solution was to have my SIM card swapped for a new one. Within 24 hours (not immediate) of swapping the SIM, I was able to log in to at&t's hotspots.
Hope this helps anyone else having the same problem; it has plagued me for months now.Swap SIM card if you cannot log into at&t's wi-fi hotspots.

Has your iPad at anytime been replaced? This seems to be a common aspect of the problem. -
Novell Client 2 SP3 and the inability to log in the Win7
Novell Client 2 SP 3 for Windows 7 64 bit and the inability to log into the desktop for a "NEW" user
My issue is that If the username exist already in Windows 7, I can log into Novell and the Window 7 desktop will load
HOWEVER if the username doesn't exist and I attempt to log in, I'm able to log into Novell Client
BUT I get prompted with another window titled Log on to this Computer with a check box Change your Windows password to match your Novell Password after success login.
1) I insert the password and
2) check the box
The Result is a line that says The Local computer username or password is not valid
Any suggestions would be most appreciatedOn Mon, 08 Apr 2013 20:26:02 GMT, MurphNE

Sorry, but that is even less clear. I'll make some assumptions.
* You have a Win7 PC.
* The user already has an account on the PC, but they have never
logged into it.
* When they login for the first time, they get an error that states
the username or password is not avalid.
Sounds like the user is using the wrong username or password.
In your first post you state:
"BUT I get prompted with another window titled log on to this Computer
with a check box Change your Windows password to match your Novell
Password after success login?"
At that point you must enter the password assigned to the account on
the PC. Depending upon how you created the account, it may not be the
same as thier eDirectory password.
If that doesn't help, try explaining again...or maybe someone else
will jump in that understands what you are trying to do.

You can only create the account on a Mac or an IOS device. Then you can use it on your PC.

Is anyone else getting this message when logging into facebook? This build is for employees only?
Delete the app from your iPhone. Hold down the app until it jiggles then tap the circle with an x it it then tap Delete.
Restart your iPhone.
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Then tap the App Store icon and re download the FB app. -
We just installed a Lync environment with one Standard Edition server, one Edge, and a reverse proxy on IIS ARR.
Last week we were finally able to connect to Lync from the outside, through the edge, on the desktop Lync 2013 clients. I had to change our _sip._tls SRV record to use port 5061 rather than 443 to fix that.
The last roadblock now is that no one can log into their phones. It's not broken; no one has been able to do it yet as this is a new deployment.
The reverse proxy sure seems to be configured right. I followed the instructions on the NextHop article that I think a lot of people use. I've had MS review the config and they verified I have all the forwarding rules in the right places.
My lyncdiscover and lws rules are both forwarding to 4443 and 8080 as desired.
Yesterday they had me add lyncdiscover.mydomain.com to the internal DNS, which it wasn't in before. They had me point to the public IP, which is not pingable from the inside. Before I did that, I had it the non-natted IP. Neither of those
internal DNS records did anything to fix the problem.
On my Windows phone, when I have Auto-Detect Server set to On, it takes a minute and gives me this ambiguous error:
"We can't connect to the server. Check your network connection and server address, and try again."
So I turn off Auto-Detect Server, and put in
https://lws.mydomain.com as both the internal and external discovery addresses. I get the following:
"We can't sign you in. Please check your account info and try again."
That implies that my account info is wrong. Should I quadruple check it or is that not necessarily accurate? Furthermore, if my account info was wrong, why wouldn't it say that when auto-detect server is on?
I've only tried on my windows phone and an iPhone, haven't tried an android yet. The errors on the iphone are slightly different and just as not-working.
I don't know what piece of config I could try again. I can look at the logs on my windows phone but I don't know what I'm looking at.
We pass all the Microsoft Remote Connectivity analyzer tests with green check marks. It seems it couldn't be working any better now, except the fact that people can't log in to their phones. Is there a Remote Connectivity Analyzer for mobile
devices?
Thanks for the help.
BrandonHere are the censored iPhone logs. I had the user disconnect from the internal network and try to sign in with Auto-Detect Server set to "on".

Can't log into my @me/icloud id account. Help?
OK, here's my challenge to you amazing Geniuses:
I created my itunes apple ID about 8 years ago, so therefore it is just my name. I know my password for this and use it daily to purchase apps. When I bought my iphone 4s a year ago, they created a new @me account to use for icloud. I have NEVER used this account or email associated with it. I never hooked my iphone or my ipad up with icloud. Today I downloaded the new IOS 6.0.1 software to my ipad only, and it was prompting me to sync into icloud. Apparently my @me account is now a new @icloud account. The problem is, I can't get into either one. I have no clue what they made my password for my @me account. I've never even checked my email for this account. When I try all of the possible ways to retrieve my @me Apple ID from the apple wesite, I come to the same 2 options...1) get a link to reset my password via email (when I click on this I don't get anything sent to my normal primary or rescue emails...if they are sending it to my @me email account that is just pointless seeing that I can't remember my password)...and 2) answer the security question (which when I try to answer it to the best of my ability it doesn't match and there are NO other options).
So my BIGGER question in this mess is...can I change my old Apple ID (the one I actually use daily and has all of my purchases and music on it) to be an acceptable email ID so I only have one Apple ID to be used for iTunes, and iCloud? I tried to follow Apple's promt to tell me to merge my simple old ID with my primary (msn) email address. However when I click on "submit", NOTHING happens. When I try to change it to my primary email by typing it in, I get a red alert saying that I can't change it to an already existing Apple domain...which is ridiculous because it's used for that original ID, and they are the ones telling me to merge the two!
OR....can I just create a new Apple icloud id/email altogether and forget that the other one they created for me exists? Since I never used it or icloud for anything, would I be able to do this? It does however bother me that there is a @me/@icloud account with my name on it that I can't get into.Hi!
I encountered a problem a few weeks ago which is a bit like yours. In my case my Apple ID stopped working after I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I finally found out it was because of the fact that my Apple ID has in fact been an alias within my much older MobileMe/iCloud account. And they weren't able to merge or reset the account at first. It took me a lot of mails and a few calls to get them to resetting the account and changing my Apple ID (for the Apple Store, iTunes, etc.) to a different, non-iCloud related email adress.
Anyway, maybe you can call the Apple Support and kindly ask them to reset the password for this ominous @me.com account so you can finally start using it.
Did you try logging into iCloud using your adress with the appendix @me.com because not everybody has got the @icloud.com ending yet. Technically it's no problem to create a new iCloud account. I can understand though that you'd like to get "your name" back . -
Is it safe to log into websites with my Google account?
There are a lot of websites that allow users to login with a Google account.
Is there any way my Google account information could be compromised from someone hacking the website I logged into with my Google account?
Machine Type: M90z AIO ; Product: 3091CTO (Custom), CPU: i5-650, Video Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, Memory: 4.00 GB,
Network Card: Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN, OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bitI would say, yes, Google's OpenID might be risky depending on what a hacker wants to gain, thus what type of code is used. The website code for that uses a redirect to a page of a website, so it can retrieve your personal data from Google. Should that page become compromised and the redirect go to a malicious page, you may not know. Once there, even if it cannot access your information from Google, an unsuspecting user might be asked to re-login and could be directed to a phishing site.
I think zb420 may be thinking of IP blocking, as opposed to anti-virus alerts which would notify you if your AV sees malicious code on a webpage that you visit. For IP blocking, the issue has to be reported in order for anti-malware applications to add the information to their database. If it is a legitimate site, and the problem is handled within a few hours, as most are, your anti-virus/anti-malware would not help you with IP blocking, unless the redirect is to a known bad site. If the site is not fixed, it would eventually be reported and added to IP blocking by whatever security you are using for that.

Can't copy purchased music from iTunes to iPod(logged into a Windows domain
I'm running iTunes on Windows XP. I've been using it to manage my music including purchasing music for iTunes. The laptop I'm using I also use it for work and log into a work Domain. I recently purchased an iPod (video) and attempted to transfer music via iTunes. When I manually try to transfer purchased songs only iTunes closes. I can transfer songs that have been imported into the library via CD. I receive a message "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." My user login has administrator rights to the PC (where iTunes is installed). All my music files are kept on an external hard drive. I've called Apple support and reinstalled the software several times with the same results. I did create a new user that logs in to
the PC (not the work Domain), that can somehow transfer the music to the iPod. But I can not see any folders, playlists, or purchased music that was established when logged on the work Domain. That solution isn't sufficient because I can't normally create different users
and run iTunes (and other products) this way.
Anyone encounter this problem? Any suggestions? This sounds like an interesting snag - clearly if you can get copied CD tracks onto the iPod there isn't an issue PC to iPod.
I wonder if the inability to copy downloaded music is related to the very clever stuff Apple do to prevent you writing more than seven copies of those tracks? Just a thought - I have no idea how it all works, but it occurs to me it could get embroiled in network stuff?? If you are friendly with your administrator ask them if you can have a go at connecting your iPod to a computer with admin rights, and see if you get a more helpful error message. -
SSL error logging into Financial Reporting Studio
We are using Financial Reporting 11.1.2.1, patch 120. We terminate SSL at a load-balancing appliance, therefore, none of the Hyperion services have SSL enabled.
Users were able to log into Financial Reporting Studio (FRS) using https://servername:port successfully until we installed a new digital certificate in the virtual IP on the load-balancing appliance. Now when the users try to log into FRS, a SSL handshake error is written to the client log file. See below for full error.
We have restarted all Hyperion services and verified that browser access to the EPM environment is working using https. We also tried uninstalling the FRS client and reinstalling, but get the same error.
The original digital certificate was not imported on the Hyperion servers or client machines. The new digital certificate has not been imported either.
Oracle Support said that we need to create a keystore file on each client machine and import the new digital certificate.
Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue or can explain why we would need to import the new cert on each client, when we never had to import the original cert on the client?
We also verified that if we revert back to the original cert on the load-balancer, the users can log into FRS.
Thanks,
Robin

High redo, log.xml and alert log generation with streams
Hi,
We have a setup where streams and messaging gateway is implemented on Oracle 11.1.0.7 to replicated the changes.
Until recently there was no issue with the setup but for last few days there is an excessive amount of redo and log.xml and alert log generation, which takes up about 50gb for archive log and 20 gb for the rest of the files.
For now we have disabled the streams.
Please suggest the possible reasons for this issue.
Regards,
AnkitObviously, as no one here has access to the two files with error messages, log.xml and alert log, the resolution starts with looking into those files
and you should have posted this question only after doing this.
Now no help is possible.
